On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.

Same. Strike Eagle and the coming Eagle II are particular favorites of mine. Not sure what it is about the Eagle that is so badass and mesmerizing.
Any combat aircraft that can loose a wing and still land safely gets my vote for best fighter of all time.
I got to talk to an ANG pilot who had flown both Eagles and Phantoms. He said going into combat he'd take an Eagle but to fly his preferred the F-4 beause it was so visceral. The way that he described it was the Eagle was the beauty queen that everybody was envious that you were with. However the Phantom was the plain looking nymphomanic that everytime you got on top of her you were going to have an ear to ear grin.

The only thing I don't like about the Eagle are the vertical tails.
I used to work at KPDX when the Oregon Air National Guard base there flew F-4 Phantoms and when they transitioned to F-15s. I always watched them take off and land and when they taxied past my cargo ramp.
I have really been enjoying your Eagle and Phantom content.

The speed tho. 800+ knots at low alt with tanks and full weapons load is just insane
and we are talking here about a project that is over 50 years old! Think about what they have on the drawing board today to be delivered in about 10 years... it's going to be crazy!
Bear in mind 800 knots with that load is well beyond the allowed limits. The airspeed limit of the aircraft unloaded is 700knots or mach 1.4, whichever you reach first. And at 800+ knots you will rip a wing off just from the overspeed, no maneuvering required (this is modelled in DCS). With a bomb load I think the limit is mach 0.95, but I'm not completely sure (also this isn't currently modelled afaik).
I live near a base that has two strike Eagle squadrons. I absolutely love them. The F-15C and E are my two favourite aircraft of all time.

IRL: A pair of Strike Eagles landed in Jordan today , were rearmed with Sidewinders and GBU-38s, and took off in the dark for who-knows-where. Nice to see the Eagle get some work.

I think the F-35 radar is actually better than the F-15 radar. In Red Flag exercises the F-35 often has a kill ratio better than 10:1 against Gen 4 aircraft.

F-15 is a nice looking plane. Way better than the F-18. Which just looks blah too me. But the F-15 doesn't look as good as an F-16 too me and Definitely can't beat the F-14... Which is the sweetest looking of the bunch. :P
I'm really curious to see what happens when the drop tanks hit the ground. Is there any explosion? If there is no explosion, can they cause damage to buildings? Can they take out any military objectives? Honestly just wondering.
Drop tanks in DCS aren't really modelled like that. Once you drop them they won't interact with objects and just disappear when they hit the ground.

If speed and altitude allow for better probability of kill for AMRAAMs and air to air kills, what’s the best formula for bomb drops? Is it still high air speed and high altitude?
The best formula depends on the threats at the target. If there's no long range SAM threat high altitude, if there is SAM threat you would perform a low altitude popup attack. As for speed, bombs generally have a max airspeed you're allowed to carry them before things start breaking, generally below mach 0.95 in the Eagle (though that isn't modelled atm afaik). Speed and altitude will give you more range, but it's not always that simple. Also that only applies to guided bombs. Dropping UGBs from high altitude is a good way to miss your target. Works fine for strategic bombers doing carpet bombing runs but not great for a strike aircraft trying to hit a specific target with a handful of bombs.
