Thats amazing! The Grand Mesa is such a beautiful area! Lots of dirt biking, camping, and cooler weather in the summertime! This year we have a much higher snow pack, and the high country is still full of snow! so we will still have some snow around in June, but they should be able to open roads and campsite on time!
Places like that are all over different states. I like to find free spots for a few days then stop in these type of campsites when I’m ready for a shower! I tend to search for remote areas without lots of people all designated to one area. It has too much of a neighborhood feel to me! I like being alone with my friends and submerged in the scenery when camping! Stay Rad Dude!
Great video., Im going to brush off my Atlas under the seat and see what I can find! Can you tell me in the natural forest lands if there are any service since I work remotely and travel solo?
You have done such a great job on the video that u forgot to put any links & info on the locations u actually stayed at..? What city? Is there a name for the lake or stream/river? What are the miles on the hike it takes to get there?
I travel the Colorado mountains, and it an unlimited world to explore! I normally don’t like to disclose my locations, just to keep the areas a little more untraveled! Thanks for watching and Stay Rad my friend!
Can you suggest your top three campsites within a 2 Hour Dr. out of Denver that you can camp right on the water, either a really good looking river or preferably a big lake to pull up to by chance? Thanks!
I’m on the other side of the mountains than Denver, but just look up any national forest land, and you can always find public land around these areas to camp for free! Lake Dillon in Silverthorne is a really pretty lake to camp and it is surrounded by beautiful scenery!
Thank you for your video. I bet you encountered of lot of forest rangers hassling you when you camp. You should videotape the encounters. Watch First Amendment audits TH-cam
Haha Thats a great idea! I have not had too many bad encounters. They are normally just doing their job and trying to keep the forest clean, and safer. I try to be as nice as possible, and understanding of this, so they do not give me any more hassle then they have too!
Thank you so much! This had become a frequently asked question, with people always wondering how I found my free camping sites! So I wanted to make a video to cover this topic, and show everyone how to find free camping wherever they want to go! Thank you again for always being so supportive! You truly are so appreciated here in the Rad Family!
Amazing, I'm totally inspired to go camping in Colorado thanks for all of your advice I own an atlas but I never knew how to find area's where you can camp for free
Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I am not very familiar with the Colorado springs area, but always check weather conditions as weather can change quickly out here in Colorado!
Thank you so much Ortal! I really hope this helped show you some different ways to discover more free camping wherever you want to go! There really is so much to see and so little time to do it all! Thank you for joining in on todays adventure!
Great vid and I picked out the same atlas. We live in Tennessee but travel all over. In Tennessee we have some national forest but we just can’t pull over and camp. Maybe I missed something but how do you find designated camping. You make it sound easy but especially in Tennessee, it’s rough. Tell me what I missed.
Im from the south, and totally understand you are so right! It’s much easier here in the Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and California areas, because of how much public land is available! I look at the designated campgrounds on the map, then past the campgrounds, you are normally in the national forest and can find a smaller road like a road to get to a trail head. This is where you can find some better areas for camping then right off of a main road! Most main roads are beginning to be lined with no camping signs! I dirt bike a lot, and have just found that the areas that have dirt bike trails, are all great for longer term camp trips! Mainly because they are made for people to setup, and hangout for the weekends!
Thank you so much Ciara! I hope this gave you some really good insight to how to find free camping in Colorado! If it did Please Subscribe for all the future adventures to come!
Thank you so much! I always get asked how I find my campsites so I hope this shows everyone how to discover free camping wherever they want to go. I want to help others get outside and to enjoy the outdoors just like I do! Thanks again for joining my adventure! Van Life Rocks!
Dope 😊! Definitely getting an atlas today my man. I just moved to Colorado and my dog and i are always on the look out for a great spot to camp in the van. Thanks for the knowledge
Thank you so much! I would agree this is a super amazing place to camp, and soak in some incredible views, but I am not at a regular campsite in this video. I am at my house, and I use the outdoor surrounding as my main studio! Thank you for watching, I really hope this showed you how to find some amazing free campsites!
Where will you go next and find free camping? Please Subscribe for support!
The mountains are calling!
Colorado…..Thanks loads
Your video was so encouraging. From Tennessee to Delta Colorado ."the Grand Mesa" the last of May early June when the weather warms up .

Nice video - thanks for showing the Atlas. I just put one in my cart.
I so glad this helped! You never know when you won’t have phone service! It’s always great to have an atlas!
East texas has some of these places and you can put a little money in a deposit box on a post and use restrooms with warm showers.

Stay Rad Dude!
so interesting, people are so consumed by technology I didn't know atlas were still a thing, let alone do people know how to read them. thanks for it.
You are so welcome! The atlas is a super dependable tool that does not require service to work, which we normally wont have out in the wilderness!
Thank you Young man 🙂
You are so welcome I really hope this helped!
Wow,,,awesome
Now that you know how to find free camping where will be your next camping trip be?
Love this SO much! Thank you!!
I am so glad this helped! Hope you go and find some amazing camping areas!!! Thanks for watching!
Great video., Im going to brush off my Atlas under the seat and see what I can find! Can you tell me in the natural forest lands if there are any service since I work remotely and travel solo?
Normally these spots will not have service, but sometimes you can find service!
Thank you for watching!
Remember trappers are trapping coyotes on many of these lands. Keep a close eye on your dogs. Learn how to release a trap and snare.
Now most places here in the mountains are letting wolves go out in these lands!
I didnt mention that I am in CO, so I will be looking there for free land.
There are so many wonderful places to see in CO, that have free camping! It’s almost summer, and time to go get outside!

Your so welcome I am so glad this helped you! Colorado has been really hot and it really feels like summer here now!
Going to Colorado Springs and around the area next week. What’s the best campsite for overlanding tent? Thanks!
Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I am not very familiar with the Colorado springs area, but always check weather conditions as weather can change quickly out here in Colorado!
@@RadAdventureDude no problem. Go check out eleven mile canyon road in lake George Colorado.
@@chancepeeler102 That sounds Great Ill make sure to do that if i am in the area!
That place looks awesome. I'm trying to find the closest free spot to the springs.
I’m not too familiar with that area. Lots of times locals from a restaurant or around the area, will be able to point you in the right direction!
Such an information packed video! Thanks so much for sharing and can’t wait for your next video
