NOTE: This only works in v1.0 of the game because arrow duping is not possible otherwise. The actual game crash trigger does work in the latest patch of the game if you already have the scrolls ready.
I found this "tech" a long time ago where you dupe items you are holding (similar to perma enchanting but with weapons/armor) and it crashes the game if you try to use the weapons after duping them.

This is cool and all, but its got nothing on when I tried modding Oblivion for the first time. Shit didn't even make it past the main menu! But more seriously its funny that its possible to crash the game so early on cool find.

haha yeah my game crashes trying to alt+tab out on the main menu so I could technically get a 0.00 time with that technique.

Well look guys, it's important that for the competitive integrity of this very serious category, the crash should be consistently reproducible on an unmodded game.
The game is about as stable as chicken wire and bubblegum holding up a Nitroglycerin bathtub so I'm sure we could all do sub 10 seconds when the stars align.

Did you try alt tabbing while on the menu screen

That definitely works but we determined the crash needs to occur within the actual gameplay so that runs weren't like 3 seconds of starting and alt tabbing the game closed. Also I think the alt tab crash only works on some runners' computers for some reason so it wouldnt be fair to include crashes that are hardware dependent.
