Fantastic Guide. Really appreciate this. If you could do this for the other regions would be fantastic. Currently a new player with 50 hours. Making my way through Unova after reaching Elite 4 in Kanto
@ChArLie360115 I haven't tested kanto yet but I assume Bruno will be a bit of a problem if it's the same as Johto. If you run a porygon and a backup like starmie with psychic or a flying type, just to deal with the fighting type leader, you are probably fine though! I made it through Bruno in johto with just porygon and some revives but it wasn't very easy
I enjoyed using porygon-z on my 12th alt run, will definitely use it more, found if refreshing after using Staryu for too long too. The Geodude is amazing, didn't have issues leaving it at lv 19 since it almost died every time.
Ended up trying this out twice. Once for Unova with a Modest Porygon and once in Kanto with a Timid Porygon (didn't want to rebreed since Timid is good). I found that although Wide Glasses usually suck, they technically cover for not having the Modest nature. Worked just as well in Kanto, although I didn't time it.
Awesome thanks! I figured Kanto would be one of the easiest! Wise glasses is really smart too! I just finished johto, since I figured it would be the most difficult region. It took some weird strats but I got it figured mostly out! Video should be coming soon!
@@JinxedBoon I just beat Johto with it too! Gyarados and Ho-oh were a bit problematic and I ended up having to trade in misc Pokemon that were near the level cap to deal with them.
@keving9770 I figured out how to beat the gyarados easy and I have a secret technique for hooh! Watch for the video in a couple weeks for the perfect storyline hooh strat 😉
I'm going to test each region with pory to see! I think it will though! Only thing I'll have to calc and potentially solve is the hooh and gyarados fights in johto
The ability + STAB stacks multiplicatively, making the actual stat increase 80 x (1.5)^2 = 180. Not that it matters, but might be good to know that this is the case for almost all different damage boost sources when they're combined. Choice Specs brings the actual total for Tri-Attack to 270 because of this.
Ive been able to clear a region a day with porygon z. So powerful and very useful in end elite 4 fights too! I just give him leftovers and rarely cant handle business
Leftovers if clever! I feel like chople or focus sash is still safer to prevent a fighting move ohko though isn't it? Good to know it's working in other regions! I'll work on optimizing the regions soon!
@JinxedBoon yeah your probably right I do die once and a while and have my 2nd pokemon with exp share for good backup but I'm more or less mindlessly pushing forward so it works enough for me lol
So far ive beat every region, do daily gym re runs and catch almost every alpha that pops up and weekly ho oh fights. Not a fan of shiny hunting or farming. Other than flipping on gtl and breeding what else could i do in the game whether daily or weekly other than pvp? My end game goal is pvp of course mainly curious if im missing any content that im not aware of other than raiding coming out soon. Thanks!
If you want more money for pvp mons, you can add the trainer rerun daily as it can net about 400k per hour or you can utilize the extra exp to level your pvpers to 50 and save yourself exp grinding. I'd recommend Hooh weekly (guide on this is coming friday), red if you get your pokedex done, and e4 which can be a little more technical but is pretty simple once you get it down (I'd recommend the Chinese team of 2 meta, blissey, chandelure, HA exca, and poliwrath). If you still have time after those, ditto farming might be the best continuous source of income. It's not as good as npc routes but it's decent
@@JinxedBoon awesome definitely will do all those extras. Didn't think e4 was worthwhile as well as red. Ditto farming sounds like a nice change of pace as well. Tyvm for info
Would appreciate a breakdown of the time to EV train said Porygon. Should be the same as any other EV trained mon but I don't think most of us have an number for that on hand.
@beesleyrc759 I did use a training link however if you dont have one, find a low level horde with the ev you need and Equip a full team with 5 exp shares even if they are level 100. That way the exp will be split 5 ways and you shouldn't overlevel!
That's insane! Would love to hear your moveset if you are OK with sharing? I found intimidate and physical walls caused me problems when I tested other phys attackers like krook, cloyster, and gyara but I never tried gallade
You can either put an exp share on 5 different pokemon to split the exp 5 ways and train on lower level pokemon or buy a training link but I'd recommend the first strategy!
@@Mattvaleriano you can either use a training link, hire a training link service, or use vitamins. There are a couple of hordes that are low enough exp that you can use too
