Welcome to the home of Colorado Kool-Aid! When much younger, it was sold only as far east as Kansas and there's plenty of "Smokey and the Bandit" stories to be told. Not only that, it's a college town and getting busy as the students migrate back with families in tow. Noted the Coors brewery along the river and an old service station at 19th and Jackson. This town is active most of the time, but not as bad as Boulder, just up the road.
Historical fun fact: Golden used to be the capital of a territory called Jefferson, from 1860-61, and it was capital of the territory of Colorado, from 1862-67, before moving it's territorial capital to what is it now Denver
Thanks for bringing back the quick Wiki summary!!
