Game was so difficult when I was young, barely got past stage 2, fast forward to 2022 and I finally beat it after all those years. Magnificent game for its time and the memories.
The Japanese opening was even better when translated, but can only remember the last line, it wasn't let's attack aggressively, it was "I'll never forgive those bastards."

I love games that try new things every level I especially love the overhead levels and that one level where’s your on a motorcycle and then next thing you know your hanging on a helicopter and then your shooting Aliens and then your fighting a Brain and then it turns into a spider made from heads and starts chasing you up the helicopter, HOLY SHIT THERES JUST SO MUCH STUFF GOING ON IN THIS GAME it a perfect demonstration of what the Super Nintendo is capable of
This is more than just a platform game, it is an epic adventure. The guns, the sounds, the bosses, the creatures, the machines, the pace, the music, etc. Awesome game.

I was never able to beat this game in hard mode. To me this was probably the best snes game, just take a listen to the soundtrack and consider all the action in every war stage.
Konami made some of the best games ever made for snes and sega genesis wish they would come back it's a shame they're not around anymore so many good titles
There is a patch to make the American version of this game as forgiving as the Japanese version. It’s recommended for those who can’t handle the challenge added by the localizers. Unlike the American version, the Japanese version lets you see the credits regardless of difficulty.

I remember a trick in an ancient stack of papyrus called I think "video game magazine" where with a turbo controller, you set the gun selection button to well, turbo and with it enabled, you can then "2D dual wield"! A good combo would be then double missiles, 2 lasers or a mix of them.
This and hard corp is my most favourite contra game. Followed up by another two games in Famicom 👍. Very enjoyable playthrough from Valis77 here, World Of Longplays youtuber. Thumb up for Emperor Gava epicness in this game too👍👏👍👏.
I remember renting this as a kid. The only way I ever managed to beat the game was finding a spot on the last level where an infinite number of enemies would spawn, then taping my controller button down overnight to shoot enemies and max out on lives.

This one is my 2nd favourite after Super C. Love how extensively SNES Mode 7 was used in this, quite advanced for an early title in the console life.
