I'm a professional jazz pianist and I decided to learn the trumpet :D after watching this video I've changed my mind :D
lmao
This instrument requires core strength, it is not simply external like piano, violin, drums, etc.
This is wonderful. My son started to play and we live in a small town that has no teacher to teach him... This is a big help. Could you please upload lesson 3
I just picked up my cornet for the first time in four years. I stopped in 8th grade band since my personal high school schedule would not allow band, I am now a senior who plays guitar for fun and decided it was time to expand. I’m glad to have found you, it’s the first day I started playing again and it’s like I never dropped it. Thank you, I appreciate your contribution greatly.
Wow playing trumpet is actually difficult ... i was always thinking ignorantly that there are 'only three buttons' and thought all you had to do was press combos of those 3 valves to make the notes... my admiration of those playing the trumpet went up significantly after watching your two beginner lessons
Kindly please I am Jastom from kenya.i am really interested in playing trumpet,am really glad to have your teachings here
"If you're playing High Notes, Cool. Not Today." spoken like a true music teacher 😆
Very good trumpet lesson , thanks for posting this video .
You’re a wonderful teacher and I appreciate you and this video! Literally the best trumpet videos I’ve found on TH-cam. Thank you! I hope you upload more!
I played from like 12-14 but stopped after midde school. I found a trumpet at a garage sale a decade later. I'm amazed at what I still remember and also amazed by how much strength in certain areas it took to play that I never noticed. Picking it up again at 26, I'm amazed that my left arm is sore from holding up for 20mins of practice, when I used to play for an hour long class. Makes me appreciate the skill I used to hve but took for granted. Looking forward to playong as an adult who actually values practice snd the skills I'm relearning!
Very well explained with a very nice and unassuming delivery of all your expertise on trumpet playing…..thanks
Hey man I don't know if you'll see this but I started playing the trumpet 2 days ago and these videos are awesome. I'd be a great help if you uploaded more
Great lessons. Waiting for the third lesson. Hope soon🙂

Hello! I just started playing trumpet. And thank you so much for your video. It is the best! And I also love your website. Looking forward for more. Now I have to go back to practice! 😎
The good Teacher Trumpet., I'm very enjoyed it .Thank You!
Brother, I happened to only have my right arm, I have to use my pinky to whole the trumpet. I am 68 yo in excellent health, I am left arm amputee. Not complaining, just so you have that in mind when you teaching, I enjoy your lessons very much.
That's amazing that you can do that props to you. Hope you become an amazing player
Thanks for your lessons. Helping me as a new student to the instrument.
Exellent 2nd lesson. Thank you ! Best teacher so far.
I have just started playing and this is really helpful
This is awesome. Also, I'm 100% convinced that Jim is Jeff Daniel's long lost brother.
Much Appreciated. Thank you for your knowledge. Can't wait for the next one!!!
Thanks, this is awesome. I practice playing from these videos.
Thank you so much , you are truly an awesome teacher !
I love your lesson so much! Thanks a bunch!

I admire you giving your time

Hi M
Like playing this
Great tutorial videos. This guy looks like Robin Williams (that’s a good thing in my book)
I like your explanation. I have a 1960s OLDS cornet. I am a beginner. I cleaned cornet, dried and oiled all valves. Valves are correctly placed. There's no sound. What could it be? Could it still be wet?
Good
Is there a lesson #3 in this series? I can't find it!
good videos but can we please get more lessons?
Any help for me
I am new to trumpet playing
Can you please make a another video lesson
Do i have to play a c with my mouth to play DEF or do i have to play a g? I don't have my trumpet here to test it I'm new sorry
He forgot to explained this, yes
What kind of trumpet would you recommend for high school band
There's an article on that subject on my website here: trumpetheroes.com/buying-a-trumpet/
There are lots of possibilities - too many for a video, or even a short list.
My trumpet weighs 1.135 kg. Is it too heavy to learn?
You're a big help. I have a restored 1925 H N White King Liberty that I can't play. Yet. BTW, is your horn a White?
💯
Still waiting on the sequel to this…
:/
(Lsn. 3? Lsn. 2a/2b?)
8:17 I felt *very* singled out here haha
i only have a right hand ?
my middle valve cancels out my playing so when i play and press down the middle valve it makes the sound all stop and i am crying because i think my trumpet is broke or something
My guess would be that the valve has itself rotated in the casing. If you loosen the cap at the top of the casing (below the button that your finger pushes on) then slowly turn the button clockwise you should hear a click when the valve guide drops into its slot. Some valves will trick you into thinking you have them in right, but they're 180 degrees from right. There's a post on my site here: trumpetheroes.com/trumpet-valves/
that covers a variety of issues with valves, casings, etc with some photos that might help.
@@TrumpetHeroesHowie thanks so much bro it was such a help
I started playing it at the age of 12

Would you take a new student via zoom?
Please sir can you be my teacher I want to play trumpet
You showed us the wrong side of your old trumpet in regard to your right thumb position. Also, frequently you "show" us things that are out of camera. Just thought you might like to know.
😂 lol
