I've noticed that the car is less efficient using eco mode. My wife commutes 100 miles each day and averages between 38 - 41 MPG. I average around 42-44. Normal mode, AC set to auto. 91 Octane. I tend to use adaptive cruise control in less congested areas. I'd be curious to see a test using normal mode on the vehicle. I have a 350h premium with 18 inch tires as well.
Beautiful SUV, and pretty steller mpg, despite what the EPA rating is. Thank you Charlie for doing these types of reviews and all of your content. It is always outstanding.
I have the 350h premium with 18 inch tires. I drive a combination of suburban driving and maybe 65% highway. I tend to drive with a light foot and try to stay 65 mph or lower. I also try to get into EV mode at times. When I used 87 octane I got about 41.9 mpg. When I used 91 octane I have been getting 44 mpg. Sometimes using eco mode. Now I am only into my 3rd tank of using 91 octane. Still getting about 44 mpg and you can feel the extra pep and smoothness. So the car is fine with 87 octane. But I think you get a bit more performance and a bit better mpg with 91
@@bhuvaneshwarrramalingam74 I am not 100% sure. it seems to be about 36-38 mpg. I drive mostly mixed driving with a lot of highway. But the traffic in Houston contains a lot of jams which brings the economy up. Overall, I am very happy with the car. There are some dumb things about the car. If you are on a call, the heads up will not give you the directions, it just displays who you are talking to. no split screen on the 14 inch display unless you are using apple carplay's features to do it. And for a luxury car, the auto settings for the fan are too high. BMW lets you adjust fan ranges. Overall the car is very nice.
Older generation NX, non hybrid same test, will be around 28-29 mpg. Now it’s time to change tires, so same test would be around 31-32 mpg. But 5 mi trip to work, with few traffic lights only make at best 22 mpg. Winter 19
We have 20" wheels on my wife's 2023 NX350h. Our MPG grand total is 33.1 MPG at 2,491 miles on the odometer. Is there anything we are doing wrong here?
DM, From what I have seen so far and despite my bias towards made in Canada vehicles, I am unsure as to whether the new NX 350h makes a compelling case vs the Venza or an upper trim RAV4 Hybrid. The inexplicable premium fuel requirement, trick door handles, lack of spare tire and smaller interior which accompany the premium price tag may just overwhelm the more luxurious features and incrementally more powerful drivetrain. BTW did you use Premium for this mpg test?
It's a lot more comfortable than the RAV, and the driving experience is different. The interior does not feel smaller, and you're getting the updated "cockpit" that Lexus is going to be using.
@@jonj77 it’s good, but when I borrowed an rx350 without the mark levinson, I couldn’t tell the difference immediately. It’s subtle. Maybe it’s how it handles volume. Dunno. It just wasn’t night and day. My favorite song to test the system is dire straits, your latest trick.
@@VishnuKamathdo you not know what speed limit means? It does not mean travel above the stated speed. There are roads that says minimum speed and they’re almost always 45 mph
Sorry but you stated hybrids run the engine all the time? Gee, 2018 Hyundai Ioniq PHEV cycles the engine on/off at 65 mph achieving over 60 mpg! The computer knows to use EV mode, then, the engine recharges the battery I’m estimating 1 Kw to allow about 3 miles all electric.

I found the same. Under 65 super efficient. Above 65 you pay at the pump.

I only get 41 mpg in a Camry hybrid XSE with cruise control set to 70, so 35 in an AWD crossover is pretty good.
Been pull 44-49 mpg in my NX350H. 30% 70% hwy with traffic jam. I drive chill and actively get the car into EV mode

We average about 34-35 I was wondering the same thing. I definitely drive economicly.
20 inch wheels are the bane of fuel economy.

Trick door handles.... 👀 Really ?
The 350h is much quieter and had the new infotainment screen and some luxury amenities that the rav4 does not have. This is why I bought the nx

It doesn't require premium fuel, as per the manual. " minimum 87 octane required"
I just got a 2024 Nx350h what gas do I use?
Thanks for this amazing video. Keep up the good work
Eco mode doesn't do anything special and you're not technically suppose to be using it at highway speeds it's more for local use.
Do you need the Drive Connect Trial to run Android Auto? Thanks
My dream car ❤
Hello all, i think the most efficient speed is 55 mph. Would be nice if you try and show the result please?
NOT in a 60MPH or higher speed limit area!!!!
If you are that person, get off the highway!!!!!
@@jrsmyth9761Was the question as to 55 mph is your beloved racetrack roads? Do you realize the hostility in your post AS IF you own highways?
I agree. In general, 55 mph is a very aerodynamically efficient speed in just about all vehicles. Drive safe.

Test out an Nx250

You're welcome
Drive at 55mph for max efficiency
And have cars run up your a$$ because the speed limit is 60 or higher, I think not!!!!
This is Interstate, you cannot drive lower than the posted speed limited. On Interstate it is usually about 60-85 Depending the state you live.
Stay at home and read the newspaper for even better efficiency.
