Thank you for your expert explanation of changing the crankshaft on this engine! I’m getting ready to replace mine very soon and wanted to know what I was getting myself into!

Really enjoyed your video, I have a question. On the belt itself could you install it upside down or backwards? Some of the videos I have seen on the GC 160 on the engine when they took the belt off a mark it so they could reinstall it the same way. I'm replacing mine so I don't have that luxury of marking it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can install it either way. I've been looking for a metal crankshaft gear to replace the plastic one in the motor I'm working on and noticed no one helped you out.

On these Honda GCV-160 engines, are the lower sections interchangeable? I have a seized up engine, and want to replace, but on the replacement, the mount posts are missing for the belt guard. So I'd like to keep the original base if it's not damaged.

hi, i couldn't understand how you calculate the torque. you said: these are 6 by 1 mm bolts. so first. what do you mean with 6 by 1? A M6x1 Bolt or what? and second, how can you calculate from the outside diameter of a bolt to the torque with these bolt was tightened? when you tightened these bolts with 69 ft-lb (btw. thats about 100Nm) the bolt will be destroyed, isn't? That sounds to much imho.

Those rod cap bolts are probably 69 in lbs. Ive never heard a main bearing referred to as a journal either.

    Hi, Guys,

      Hi, Dwight Jackson,
sorry, but in my opinion, you are not right.
The lecturer mentioned this acronym at time 3:35.

      Hi, Dwight Jackson,
finally, it seems you are right. I was not able to understand the meaning. Now I got it though.

MAG= magneto side of the engine (usually also houses the recoil starter)
PTO= Drive clutch side of the engine
