    Just wanted to say a big thank you to you. Can’t remember just how it happened but I stumbled across your videos a while back and thanks to you, I’m now hooked on wild camping and spending a all my spare cash on camping gear. Also, after saying I could never justify the cost of a Hilleberg, I bought the Soulo yesterday. I must be mad.
    Really enjoy your videos. All very relaxing to watch. Think I’ve watched absolutely every one of them now.
    Keep up the good work and thanks again. Maybe meet you in the hills one day 😊

    I was camping there Friday night, love the way you take random shots of the path to try and conceal your exact location. When I was there the Farmer was driving round picking sheep up, I was back near the quary wall out of sight. It wasn't as windy as yours but it was chucking it down.

    I wild camped there with my boy 4 years back. Our first wild camp togethor. Started out as a lovely day, got camped up watched vids all night, fell asleep and woke up next morning completely clagged in. Unzipped the tent couldn't see a foot in front of us, really surreal and there was me thinking how the hell am I going to get back. My nav skills were in there infancy. Fortunately after an hour or two the clag lifted to reveal a beautiful blue sky, what a relief!
    Great vid as always Paul, could I just ask you the make and manufacturer of that small plastic table packaway table you use. Cheers Rob

    Hey Paul, if you want a comfortable sleeping mat I just brought the updated Thermarest Trail Pro self inflating pad as my old Sea to Summit blow up pad was giving me back ache every morning. It’s easily the most comfortable mat I’ve used as it’s stuffed with actual foam, and is still pretty light. The updated two way valve system works brilliantly and it has an R-value of 4.4. Best of all it is covered by a luxuriously soft stretch knit fabric. I got the extra wide one as I’m a side sleeper.

    I managed to get out for a camp in the Peak District last weekend too. Very high winds but the Snugpak Bunker was more than up to the job. Biggest problem I had was water supply, all the streams coming off Kinder Scout were a deep, blood red. Even after filtering and boiling it was undrinkable.

    Paul I recently picked up a sea to summit ether light xt insulated sleeping pad and I have to say that it's absolutely superb. Supremely comfortable and keeps you from rolling off at night with the air sprung cells rather than 'air tube' design of most pads. Also love the pillow lock design they have with the sea to summit aeros pillows. Good r value and very lightweight too but it's the comfort that really sells it for me. Thought you should maybe check it out as it may even dethrone the trekology. All the best, Oli.

    • @PaulMessner
      @PaulMessner  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It would definitely dethrone the Trekology. It's a fair bit more expensive though. I have the Thermarest and Exped if I need insulation and can't justify spending on another pad just yet. 😀👍

      @oling2812 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PaulMessner Fully appreciate you've already got several pads :P Just wanted to give you some feedback as I recall from your fairly recent video on sleeping pads that you were particularly interested in feedback on the Sea to Summit pads! I have the regular but if I could buy it again I'd actually be tempted to go for the women's large for the extra width and warmth at a relatively small weight penalty though it's even more expensive ahhh

    Paul we have missed you! I was thinking about this for a while and maybe others will like this idea too. Maybe a behind the seen video. So you go wild camping with a mate and he can record you as you record yourself so we as the views see how much effort you put into your videos and how you get the camera angles. I feel like this would make all of us (your viewers) respect the time, effort, blood, sweat and tears you put in to your videos.

    Great video Paul and it looks like the weather kept the hordes away and gave you some peace. Can’t remember seeing the Rab sleeping bag before, how did it do?

    Enjoyed watching that Paul. Just bought the Minimo so great to see it being used. Was a good call to relocate due to the wind. Atb. Onto the next adventure...

      I made the sensible choice for once 😂. The tent would have been fine but it would have been a rough night up on the top.

      Paul Messner Do you twist the pan support onto the stove to secure it? Took me a while but I realised the metal hooks catch under the circular parts where the pot screws into.

    • @PaulMessner
      @PaulMessner  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rooster 77 I don’t normally bother. It works fine for me without twisting and if I want to switch back to the pot quickly I can do it without having wait for it cool down

      Paul Messner Nice one. I'm still learning. I like the look of the pan. That bit of steak looked nice. I bet you really appreciated being out there after all the lockdown etc.
