Would you alter course for a vessel in a head on situation. Rule 8f1 would tell you that you should take the action early, rule 8f2 would tell you that if there is risk of collision you are still not relived from not 8 pleading the passage or safe passage and most importantly 8f3 reminds you that the vessel whose passage or safe passage is not to be is still obliged with these rules. This means that if she were to take action she would alter her course to starboard and that puts you into an other collision situation, which you are obliged to avoid according to 8f1&2
Is Biscayne Bay (Miami) considered Inland Rules or Colregs? Specifically the area adjacent to I-195 between Miami and Miami Beach (not the ocean side of Miami Beach).
Useful video thank you. Nice to know I am not alone in getting tongue twisted with the rules!
6:30 "this was a CBD and she carried a diamond"
CBD is cylinder and diamond its for vessel engaged in towing with length of tow > 200m
Thank you ^^ Now I'm ready for my exam . God Bless !

Nice video. Some confusion with the interchangeable labelling of "stand on vessel" and "vessel not to be impeded". otherwise very good.
good easy to understand video compared to some of the other muppet ones out there
Thank you for making this video very clearly explained. Please do more videos and scenarios.
“A Power driven vessel (which is a cbd) on the port side not a vessel”

Yea, I messed up an oral exam on this rule before I saw this video,
how i wonder to have a competition in the colregs....in every school.
