    02:15 Going to stbd crosses ahead of the other vessel which should be avoided in rule 15, so going to port would be the correct actioni in this situation.

    Would you alter course for a vessel in a head on situation. Rule 8f1 would tell you that you should take the action early, rule 8f2 would tell you that if there is risk of collision you are still not relived from not 8 pleading the passage or safe passage and most importantly 8f3 reminds you that the vessel whose passage or safe passage is not to be is still obliged with these rules. This means that if she were to take action she would alter her course to starboard and that puts you into an other collision situation, which you are obliged to avoid according to 8f1&2

      Vl to stbd , I would reply I would have taken early and positive action , and not allowed the situation to develop to that distance . However You can go to port a 50 degree a/c would allow the other vessel to pass clear ahead . Taking that action I would have man on the wheel , informed the Master .

    do not teach people if you are not in the theme! I reviewed a lot of your videos, and in each there are significant errors that prevent understanding the rules of the young and inexperienced cadets! At least read the Cockcroft!

    Nice video. Some confusion with the interchangeable labelling of "stand on vessel" and "vessel not to be impeded". otherwise very good.
