Gotta love Big bear. Fish all seasons! Beautiful intro shot BTW.
It’s really a special place for trout fishing here in SoCal. Very few places can offer year round trout fishin!
You had me getting misty at 15:00. The imagery, the music, the "don't want to disturb the atmosphere". I immediately hit the subscribe button. GREAT video. Can't wait to check out others and anything to come!
This made my day 😌
Thank you so much for taking the time to share! My biggest goal with the content I make is to entertain people, but also to re-create the feelings that I feel whenever I’m in nature.

Hey brother! This is yer uncle Dan! Using a slightly different name, for anonymity.
Ahhhhh haaa!!!!! Haha, hey Uncle. So glad you checked this out! Can’t wait to go fishin back home again soon.
Days like those are why we fish, they make it worth the skunks, lack of sleep, and driving!
You’re speaking my language Jose 🤛🏻
Made the same mistake at Santa Ana River lakes few months back. Hooked a monster trout on a Thomas Bouyant. 5lb'er min. Got way too pumped & tightened the drag too much. Line didn't break, lure was pulled off! lol. Crazy strong fish. Bad knot & poor drag management on my part. Never make that mistake again 🤣 Great vids.....keep em' coming 👍
Oh gosh....yeah dude. Nothing beats learning the hard way. It stays with you forever.
Keep on fishin brotha! 🤙🏻
@@UntilJourneysEnd Have you heard about the fishing Derby in Big Bear coming October? Supposed to be a good one. Planting some lurkers I believe. I went to the one that just passed in June. Wow! 12 fish in 2 days. Biggest 2.4lbs. Powerbait all day long. Hahaha! Salmon peach was killin' it. Trout love the p.b. up there. Super fun weekend 👍😁👍
I have!! I’ll try and make it if I’m in town in October! It sounds like a great time 😄
Dude, I’ve heard Salmon peach PB is the #1 PB in Big Bear! I gotta use it more often!!
@@UntilJourneysEnd Early on my 1st day I overheard someone say they caught one on Salmon peach so I switched up. It was on after that. They couple fishing next to me kept saying, crappers...you're hooked up again?! lol Funny stuff. Have a good one & tight lines brutha !
👍😁👍
Hahahah I love it!! So thankful for the fisherman who are giving with their knowledge!! 🙏🏻
Just went fishing yesterday in big bear and was able to get 1 rb trout not much luck but you seem to know what your doing catching fish back and fourth. Great video bro! 😁👍
Hahah look, I one hundred percent have my skunk days! 😂 At Big Bear, I’ve come home with no fish, remarkably, only once. Sometimes, your biggest ticket to success when fishing anywhere, is just putting in the time!
Keep on fishing Ficas!! 🤛🏻
@@UntilJourneysEnd I’ll try my best... you have perfect advice. Thanks bro! 😄
We went to the bottom of big bear by Yucaipa off bryant and the 83 i believe. River dry as a whistle. Heard Nestle bought the rights to resale the water in bottles.
Is this a river that normally flows out of Big Bear lake?
@@UntilJourneysEnd i dont know. All i know is last year at this time there was water and no parking. This year nada. I was going drive to the top. But wasnt sure how difficult it is to get parking by the lake? How does one get a parking permit for any forest?
Big Bear lake doesn’t require permits for most of the parking surrounding the lake. Lots of parking on the side of the road and multiple roundabouts where you can park as well. The only lot that I know of that requires a wilderness pass, is over by Juniper Point.
If you went 2 days wouldn’t you be allowed another 5 fish . Or how does that work? I’m only 40 minutes away from big bear lake
For Big Bear lake, it’s 5 fish per day with a 5 fish in possession limit. Since I hadn’t eaten any of the 4 fish, I could only keep 1 more. Hope that helps! ☺️🤙🏻
@@UntilJourneysEnd thank you love the videos
im thinking of hitting the lake this weekend! slip bobbers for me and a blow up donut hahahahaha
That sounds like one heck of a time if ya ask me!!! 😄 Get into some fish dude!!
@@UntilJourneysEnd I caught a big one! didn't weigh or measure but I believe 3ish lb and 20"... using worms on slip bobber by the bubbles near the dam.
Whoooooooo yesssss dude!! That is a nice fish! 🤛🏻 Thanks for letting me know!!
Were you fishing at the observatory? How far is the walk from parking? Really enjoyed the show at my favorite mountain lake, Thanks!
I was! It’s maybe a 5min walk at most! You just have to make your own path through the brush until you reach the shoreline.
Thanks for watching David! This week’s video will be some wild trout fishing in a local creek.
And the week after will be another Big Bear episode! Stick around!!
Is it windy
Great haul. May I ask what size leader you were using throughout the day? Also, were any fish released?
Disregard my last comment.. I see you kept your limit.
Haha no worries. Besides the one I lost, these were the fish I caught on this trip!
My leader that day was roughly 2ft!
Stealing that bell idea lol
Haha dude, once I started using bell indicators, I never turned back! Its a game changer when bait fishing, to be able to read a book or make some coffee without risking missing a bite 😅 (most of the time...some soft biters out there lol)
May I ask what part of the lake this was?
This was the west side of the lake near the RV camp!
It's pretty clear he's fishing at the observatory on the North Shore. (Very easy to find, a little bit of a walk.)
Do you actually collect the trash and keep it or do you throw it away after you find it?
😆😆 I throw it away brotha! That’s just me being a goof!! 😂
Do i need to pay for fising at big bear?did you pay?
No! Big Bear is free to fish! 😄
You need a valid California fishing license, but there is no daily fee at Big Bear. There are parking fees at some lots.
