    We were finally able to get back out on the lake for some much needed fishing and relaxation. Ready to get back out there again ASAP! Which lake are you headed to next?

      Man, these OC park lakes don't compare to the sierras, where are you headed next??

      Andrew Uy yeah true lol. We were thinking either back to big bear, Santa Ana river lakes, or someplace in SD. Just browsing the available air bnbs to see what’s best.

    Nice work out there! December was a good month for Big Bear. Was up there today, slowed down quite a bit with the wind, was blowing about 30-50 steady. Big storm week, should be good once all that settles out. BTW, for food..try out "Get the burger" or the "Peppercorn" for dinner

      Urban Outdoorsman thanks! Yeah I was checking out the weather today and it looks like a lot of snow is about to drop out there. Must have been pretty cold with that strong wind. We wanted to head back up there soon but all the airbnb prices shot up significantly. We will definitely try out those spots next time. Were you able to catch some fish? Our 2nd day up there was pretty slow for us.

      @@ExploreNaturesCatch Yeah we still did great out there but that wind kicked our buts. Took the fight out of us. I had stuff to do so I could only stay until 11am. I'll be at silverwood soon and a few other spots. Was up in the southern sierra Saturday

    That’s a nice pull out of Big Bear in 1 day, nice work! Can you post up your your hook setup and leader length you used on the mice tails? I don’t use them as often as I should..

    • @ExploreNaturesCatch
      @ExploreNaturesCatch  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Matthew Geissinger thank you! definitely will be making a detailed video about different set ups but for now we were using 4lb floroclear pline, #8 owner mosquito hook, 1/8-1/2 oz sliding sinker, and a Carolina keeper. The length from the hook to the Carolina keeper ranges from 1 1/2ft to 2ft. Mice tails never fail us when we use it.

    • @B737Matt
      @B737Matt 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Explore Natures Catch Awesome Thank you! Do you put the hook through the ball head part of the mice tail, or just on the tail itself? I usually just go through the head and a little into the tail, but it almost looked like in the vid you put the hook in the tail only?

    • @ExploreNaturesCatch
      @ExploreNaturesCatch  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Matthew Geissinger Yes we always just hook it below the ball/head only through the tail. It’s been working great for us.

    • @ExploreNaturesCatch
      @ExploreNaturesCatch  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      EdwardLi thanks! Forgot the exact name of the bell but if you search fishing bell on amazon the ones that show up are pretty much the same thing and we just add a paper clip to it. The second spot is juniper point. Thinking about heading up there soon?

      @marshassassin9583 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I got 2 weeks off work so I'm thinking about making the trip up there from San Diego. Never been to that lake but I heard they have wild trout

    • @ExploreNaturesCatch
      @ExploreNaturesCatch  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      SmokedOutHemi 2 just make sure to check the road conditions before heading up. I think it’s suppose to snow soon. And if it does they will probably require chains.
