I think they will push each other harder. DE are masters of the unreal engine but the Korean studio does seem to have a decent grasp of it but they do not have l the content Warframe has. So really you could go between both games if you want.
Warframe is also a tried and true name, you know what you can expect of the dev and even though they are under tencent, the game has not changed since then and its been 4 years since then. You can trust warframe but I can't say whats what when it comes to TFD where its owned by Nexxon where we know they are the scum of the gaming world, same as EA.

(no i dont mean 50 hours of total gameplay i mean 50 hours farming for one ultimate character after completing the story) so if my choice is to spend 50-60 hours to unlock ONE CHARACTER or spen 60 bucks for the character i cant see myself or most people doing that dozens of times, as new characters come out. A change needs to be made or this game will die. Also you only get 10 descendant slots to get more you do have to pay real money. There is already a bit more than 10 characters. so inherently, the game literally cant be free to play if someone is trying to collect all of the characters.

@fraydizs7302 I'm sure trade will become available in later seasons, with people normally grinding will pick up ult pieces that they may already have and could trade it away making it easy for the ult grind in return for blue prints on weapons or the energy activator.
I noticed the biggest difference in modding between Warframe and TFD is that TFD modules all cost way too much at a max rank of 16 points, the common mods in TFD are equal in cost to Primed mods in Warframe, while the descendants only have 11 more max capacity at 85 compared to Warframe capacity maxing at 74, so modding in TFD is an absolute pain and REQUIRES all 10 slots to have a socket type to make any maxed build. In Warframe you hardly ever need to polarize all the slots available to make a viable build that can have swapped out mods easily.
I don't think so simply because Warframe is just now actually getting really good in terms of story, like we're about to get the prologue/prequal quest line which showcases the protoframes in a way that the original game Dark Sector could not

I think it was maybe like Second Dream, Awakening, and whichever quest gave you Umbra that were really impactful to the story. Also I always saw the open world stuff as filler content that honestly isn't all that important till late game.

When Final Shape released in June for Destiny, they created a pack that includes all older dlc into a pack that's MUCH cheaper than buying them separately. And at one point, they made it like $30 for everything, but it's back to $60 now, I believe. And tbf all you really need as a new player is Final Shape as it's the newest and most relevant content. And if they like everything there and finish up the expansion, they can go back and get the older stuff later, though the current Episodes should give enough for them to do unless they start playing as a real hardcore player.
This game brought me back to Warframe which i already sunk 20$ into which was totally worth it for me at least. All I can say is after 1 hours i deleted the first descendent and downloaded Warframe again which i have been playing way too much
Other then my warframe question i honestly didn't like the first descendant as a warframe player everything felt stiff movement wise compared to warframe though thats not a complete deal breaker for me the npcs themselves felt really dead with no emotion and that is. Warframe has some moments like that but most characters give expression in their face and move. As an animator I just could not stand to look at lifeless npc faces for an entire game.
while i like the idea of NPCs, the FD seems like a mobile game for coomers, also i don't get the "I'm OP AF space ninja" feeling like in WF so nope in WF most of the grind is actually FUN since you can create OP and/or unique builds and you have many different types of gameplay, and since you are constantly "grinding" that also means you are constantly progressing and accomplishing some thing
Yup, a days worth of grinding in TFD feels so shit and you won't even feel like you progressed much ingame while in warframe, you could literally farm a ton of shit in a day that is quite relevant to the game, you won't feel like you wasted farming something in warframe while in TFD you do.
The First Descendant lacks the most important things Warframe has... matchmaking, pretty much everything in Warframe can be done using matchmaking while in the First descendant you have to go to the mission on an instance map and hope there are other players already there or will show up. And without trading getting certain things ingame is a pain, especially if you can't find or create a party to do the missions to farm the item because of the lack of matchmaking or lfg system ingame. You'll get all these parts before you get the actually part you spent hours farming for and if there was trading maybe you could trade like in warframe to get the items from other players.
Good point. Instead of being a free to play alternative to Destiny 2 they decide to compete with... Warframe? I highly doubt some random company could even muster the thought to make a story that's the equivalent of something like FFXIV but in space like Waframe did. Or you know, actually sell a game that has passion put into it, not just a means to sell skins or save time from the grind they created.

I tested out First Descendant. The entire thing is a complete hack. I can only define it as a "frozen in time" experience. It doesn't seem to be improving at all, nor getting worse. It's just.. there. Warframe keeps changing constantly, regardless if it's for better or for worse.
No. The game is fun but it's not the end all be all of looter shooters. I just finished the main story and I want to play Warframe again. I would however be perfectly happy if it does destroy Destiny 2 because I'm still angry that I can't play content that I paid for before it went F2P
missions are much more destiny than wf, same with variety of weapons, what they took from wf was ranks(profs) for weapons and descendants and removed trials from rank ups.(which WF should have removed ages ago)
I just checked Steam charts. So, Warfeame sits at a comfortable 50k-ish players at any given time. TFD launched to 230k players, but, in the weeks since launch, has diminished to 70k players, and is still on a downward trend. There absolutely exists spqce in this genre for good healthy competition. And TFD has differentiated itself from WF or D2 through being very fan service laiden.
I got the Destiny collector's ps4 as a Christmas present one year from my family... Tried it out a bit, thought I might get around to going through it at some point.. Destiny lost me when they took away story content.

Idk about Destiny but it won't harm warframe much if at all. A lot of people have already gone back after the novelty wore off. Warframe has better gameplay and 100 times the content, and TFD has very scummy monetization that too many people gloss over. Everyone talks about how much the ultimate characters cost, but no one talks about the real issue, formas and potatoes. Potatoes are especially bad, extremely low drop chance just for the blueprint to make a single one, then some of the materials have very bad drop rates, too. Or you can conveniently pop into the shop and get one for almost 30 USD. This is what will kill the game in the long run. They need to increase the drop rate on potato and forma bluerpints and materials or have some kind of weekly mission that gives one guaranteed.
when it comes to "more to offer" in warframe case, i agree. destiny in the other hand is a big question, as Bungie themselves dont seem to know what they want to do with the game moving foward.

The warframe cannot be compared because no team has the audacity to recreate its system. Which is exotic alien females and males, aka warframes. Allied with a well-established story and years of fanbase. They started small, with simple parkour and some extractions in a bullet hell game and later evolved. no, I feel it only has a lot of players right now because of their recent release and marketing just like their other game The Finals. Even with some elements adopted from Destiny 2 and Warframe, those two games are just in another dimension of content and lore compared to this game
Comparing Warframe microtransactions to TFD is a joke. I never bought in WF anything that's not cosmetic or slot for platinum and have all of best frames and weapons while in TFD you have their ads everywhere. Also drop rates are so off from what is descriptions that you can't even tell how long it takes to unlock any of ultimates.

I feel like this argument of Pay to win in a game that you play for the grind is such garbage. You pay to skip, and in a game where the part you skip is the gameplay which is the main factor of the game, you are paying to loose. So it´s pay 2 Loose. Especially for warframe, you can´t even buy the most valuable upgrades with Platinum, and that which you can, you can Trade to get it from others. Really this argument is just old and a weak criticism. especially when the game is free, like it´s amazing how greedy some people are, complaining that Characters are hard to get, and if so cost 10 bucks, while the game itself is the base of a 60 dollar game, while the last 60 AAA games we got, were about 5 years ago. Since everything new is just reused, Virtue signaling garbage, or from fromsoftware. Warframe deserves criticism, but if you never pay a dime, and only play the main quest, there is barely anything wrong with it. You can make the argument of lack of information, incoherence that drags the story, but honestly if you payed attention it´s just a good game for it´s age. The answer without even watching is, No. Because those are established IPs. Much like no MMO has ever been able to dethrone WoW. People grow attached to pre-existing IPs and will never leave them. Not permanently anyway, unless under drastic conditions. They always go back to what they know and love. Me personally? I prefer The First Descendant over Destiny and Warframe, because I played them casually and have no real attachment to them. The gameplay is better than Warframe, even though it pales in comparison with it's content (which is to be expected from a new game, versus a long running live service game). Destiny I do prefer for story reasons, but would rather play Halo games honestly. And lacking groups to do endgame content with just makes it an unpleasant experience. But really the content release schedule of all of them is trash. They either take too long and you end up getting bored, or come out too fast when you want a break but then feel forced to play them to keep up or get your moneys worth. I'll stick to games that don't require me to sell my soul to keep up with the no lifers.
No, shit got boring after I unlocked hard mode. Going back to farm is tedious and boring. It becomes unbearable. The hard boss fights aren’t even hard just a check on how upgraded your mods are.

And if you don't know or are unsure I'd suggest looking at the first 2 videos Legendary Drops did on warframe though the 2nd one has spoilers it should help to understand some of the hype around warframe, I would not watch past that if you intend on playing the game though because the reward for playing through what he talks about in later videos is something you should experience for yourself but up to you!

i dont think even 5 years will be enough. as each year warframe adds some new big thing. and i belive they will invest hard in the 1999 setting moving foward. dunno if they will manage to offer a full cast of proto frame by the next half decade, but i dont doubt they will try to.
I think that if they keep listening to the community, making good content and polishing the game, it could become a decent competitor given enough time, but the game still need to go through a lot of checkpoints. Destiny 2 and Warframe are both big heavyweights on the genre despite both being so different from each other and I think it's positive that the devs aren't trying to reinvent the wheel, instead using systems that are already successful on the genre, clearly taking inspiration from both Destiny 2 and Warframe which I think it's a very smart thing to do.
My personal opinion, but The First Descendant has got to be one of the most soulless and mediocre-looking game I've seen for a long time, it's kind of a common thing with a lot of these Asian-made games, it's got that exact aesthetics with all the flashy and over-the-top graphics and over-detailed models...like for the sake of being over-the-top and that's it. Coomer-bait character designs, etc.... yada yada yada. I dunno about the gameplay cuz I haven't played but in terms of aesthetics and art-direction, I don't think it'll outlast Warframe or Destiny. Looking at The First Descendant I'm not even sure what the game's trying to be...it's like they're trying to cram in as much "cool things" into the game as possible. It's like Once Awake, where it's supposed to be this "gritty eldritch survivor horror" but you BARELY get that vibe with all the clashing aesthetics and obvious "inspirations" from other games.

Caliban, Nyx and Trinity are getting reworks now, the devs have been listening a lot to the players the past three years and the newer content is insanely good. TFD is definitely not a pay to win game. There are guides on how to farm everything in the game. I've already crafted many of the end game items and 2 ultimate characters all F2P. Yes I do think the micro transactions are egregious, but you don't have to pay to be better than everyone else, learn the game and you can out perform those who pay to progress
Nope will not happen... Game is too unpolished. Frames/descendants do not feel strong. Content is not balanced to be played by any/every descendant. Missing proper melee weapons. So it's more like Destiny 2 but enemies are more like Warframe enemies but the game lacks the Warframe mechanics to deal with them. Simply the game needs polishing. A lot of it.
Well i play both warframe and destiny's. The first descendent copy warframe system but have booty and tits😂. The game is not to serious and feels relax at some point. Yes the grind is insane a bit worse then warframe. But meh it feels like at home. The trick is not to rush anything because honesty the game lack content. 😅 But if you count booty as content. The game got plenty of it.

I already stopped playing Destiny 2 for this but after more than 4000 hours I was already tired of the loop. Never found anything of interest in warframe and beyond the fluid gameplay is not match for destiny less for FD. Nevertheless First Descendant will have to work on level design and to me, in giving a bit of extra color to environments. They look too realistic and the alien component gets a bit lost in the equation.
It may have a chance at killing Destiny, but Warframe is too big, too unique, too player friendly, and too innovative to fail to a mediocre looter shooter like this. Now if Warframe starts pushing DEI hard then yeah, Descendent will userp Warframe as the top looter shooter but not until then.

THERE IS NO MELEE combat! there is no super weapons like WF there is no backstab or finisher there is no stealth mechanism there is no combat drone/pet follower there is no vehicle/mount the list goes on and on, now add unoptimized graphics + server connection problems (for many ppl not all) to it! not enough? OK how about ALL COSMETICS cost REAL MONEY! and u cannot farm the cosmetic like you can in warframe! even painting your character parts cost money and u have to pay EACH time u change a SINGLE parts color! NOW ADD the slave grinding/RNG and gotcha to the game (if you call WF grinding then u have never played Korean games) and you will have this crap called The first descendant which got bunch of kids blind and mesmerized due to hot chicks with sexy body!

When Final Shape released in June for Destiny, they created a pack that includes all older dlc into a pack that's MUCH cheaper than buying them separately. And at one point, they made it like $30 for everything, but it's back to $60 now, I believe. And tbf all you really need as a new player is Final Shape as it's the newest and most relevant content. And if they like everything there and finish up the expansion, they can go back and get the older stuff later, though the current Episodes should give enough for them to do unless they start playing as a real hardcore player.
This game brought me back to Warframe which i already sunk 20$ into which was totally worth it for me at least. All I can say is after 1 hours i deleted the first descendent and downloaded Warframe again which i have been playing way too much
They actually had to change a ton of icons in the game that were ripped exactly from or changed very slightly from Destiny icons.
Other then my warframe question i honestly didn't like the first descendant as a warframe player everything felt stiff movement wise compared to warframe though thats not a complete deal breaker for me the npcs themselves felt really dead with no emotion and that is. Warframe has some moments like that but most characters give expression in their face and move. As an animator I just could not stand to look at lifeless npc faces for an entire game.
while i like the idea of NPCs, the FD seems like a mobile game for coomers, also i don't get the "I'm OP AF space ninja" feeling like in WF so nope
in WF most of the grind is actually FUN since you can create OP and/or unique builds and you have many different types of gameplay, and since you are constantly "grinding" that also means you are constantly progressing and accomplishing some thing
Yup, a days worth of grinding in TFD feels so shit and you won't even feel like you progressed much ingame while in warframe, you could literally farm a ton of shit in a day that is quite relevant to the game, you won't feel like you wasted farming something in warframe while in TFD you do.
Warframe just had its own convention for the 10th time, and revealed its next 3 updates. It isn't going away anytime soon.
The First Descendant lacks the most important things Warframe has... matchmaking, pretty much everything in Warframe can be done using matchmaking while in the First descendant you have to go to the mission on an instance map and hope there are other players already there or will show up.
And without trading getting certain things ingame is a pain, especially if you can't find or create a party to do the missions to farm the item because of the lack of matchmaking or lfg system ingame. You'll get all these parts before you get the actually part you spent hours farming for and if there was trading maybe you could trade like in warframe to get the items from other players.
Good point. Instead of being a free to play alternative to Destiny 2 they decide to compete with... Warframe? I highly doubt some random company could even muster the thought to make a story that's the equivalent of something like FFXIV but in space like Waframe did. Or you know, actually sell a game that has passion put into it, not just a means to sell skins or save time from the grind they created.

I tested out First Descendant. The entire thing is a complete hack. I can only define it as a "frozen in time" experience. It doesn't seem to be improving at all, nor getting worse. It's just.. there. Warframe keeps changing constantly, regardless if it's for better or for worse.
No. The game is fun but it's not the end all be all of looter shooters. I just finished the main story and I want to play Warframe again.
I would however be perfectly happy if it does destroy Destiny 2 because I'm still angry that I can't play content that I paid for before it went F2P
missions are much more destiny than wf, same with variety of weapons, what they took from wf was ranks(profs) for weapons and descendants and removed trials from rank ups.(which WF should have removed ages ago)

So, Warfeame sits at a comfortable 50k-ish players at any given time.
TFD launched to 230k players, but, in the weeks since launch, has diminished to 70k players, and is still on a downward trend.
There absolutely exists spqce in this genre for good healthy competition. And TFD has differentiated itself from WF or D2 through being very fan service laiden.
Why does every cool new game have to be an old game killer? Plenty of gamers out there for good games to co-exist.

Idk about Destiny but it won't harm warframe much if at all. A lot of people have already gone back after the novelty wore off. Warframe has better gameplay and 100 times the content, and TFD has very scummy monetization that too many people gloss over. Everyone talks about how much the ultimate characters cost, but no one talks about the real issue, formas and potatoes. Potatoes are especially bad, extremely low drop chance just for the blueprint to make a single one, then some of the materials have very bad drop rates, too. Or you can conveniently pop into the shop and get one for almost 30 USD. This is what will kill the game in the long run. They need to increase the drop rate on potato and forma bluerpints and materials or have some kind of weekly mission that gives one guaranteed.

The warframe cannot be compared because no team has the audacity to recreate its system. Which is exotic alien females and males, aka warframes. Allied with a well-established story and years of fanbase. They started small, with simple parkour and some extractions in a bullet hell game and later evolved. no, I feel it only has a lot of players right now because of their recent release and marketing just like their other game The Finals. Even with some elements adopted from Destiny 2 and Warframe, those two games are just in another dimension of content and lore compared to this game
Comparing Warframe microtransactions to TFD is a joke. I never bought in WF anything that's not cosmetic or slot for platinum and have all of best frames and weapons while in TFD you have their ads everywhere. Also drop rates are so off from what is descriptions that you can't even tell how long it takes to unlock any of ultimates.

You pay to skip, and in a game where the part you skip is the gameplay which is the main factor of the game, you are paying to loose. So it´s pay 2 Loose.
Especially for warframe, you can´t even buy the most valuable upgrades with Platinum, and that which you can, you can Trade to get it from others.

People grow attached to pre-existing IPs and will never leave them. Not permanently anyway, unless under drastic conditions. They always go back to what they know and love.
Me personally? I prefer The First Descendant over Destiny and Warframe, because I played them casually and have no real attachment to them. The gameplay is better than Warframe, even though it pales in comparison with it's content (which is to be expected from a new game, versus a long running live service game). Destiny I do prefer for story reasons, but would rather play Halo games honestly. And lacking groups to do endgame content with just makes it an unpleasant experience.
But really the content release schedule of all of them is trash. They either take too long and you end up getting bored, or come out too fast when you want a break but then feel forced to play them to keep up or get your moneys worth.
I'll stick to games that don't require me to sell my soul to keep up with the no lifers.
No, shit got boring after I unlocked hard mode. Going back to farm is tedious and boring. It becomes unbearable. The hard boss fights aren’t even hard just a check on how upgraded your mods are.

And if you don't know or are unsure I'd suggest looking at the first 2 videos Legendary Drops did on warframe though the 2nd one has spoilers it should help to understand some of the hype around warframe, I would not watch past that if you intend on playing the game though because the reward for playing through what he talks about in later videos is something you should experience for yourself but up to you!

Dont know about destiny, but right now? This game cant even compete with warframe, give 5 years of development and then we can talk about it, the base of this game is better than warframe 10 years ago, they just have to listen to the comunity and be creative with the game
i dont think even 5 years will be enough. as each year warframe adds some new big thing. and i belive they will invest hard in the 1999 setting moving foward. dunno if they will manage to offer a full cast of proto frame by the next half decade, but i dont doubt they will try to.
I think that if they keep listening to the community, making good content and polishing the game, it could become a decent competitor given enough time, but the game still need to go through a lot of checkpoints. Destiny 2 and Warframe are both big heavyweights on the genre despite both being so different from each other and I think it's positive that the devs aren't trying to reinvent the wheel, instead using systems that are already successful on the genre, clearly taking inspiration from both Destiny 2 and Warframe which I think it's a very smart thing to do.
My personal opinion, but The First Descendant has got to be one of the most soulless and mediocre-looking game I've seen for a long time, it's kind of a common thing with a lot of these Asian-made games, it's got that exact aesthetics with all the flashy and over-the-top graphics and over-detailed models...like for the sake of being over-the-top and that's it. Coomer-bait character designs, etc.... yada yada yada. I dunno about the gameplay cuz I haven't played but in terms of aesthetics and art-direction, I don't think it'll outlast Warframe or Destiny.
Looking at The First Descendant I'm not even sure what the game's trying to be...it's like they're trying to cram in as much "cool things" into the game as possible. It's like Once Awake, where it's supposed to be this "gritty eldritch survivor horror" but you BARELY get that vibe with all the clashing aesthetics and obvious "inspirations" from other games.

Whem I first saw about this game I thought: warframe with waifus? Sign me in.
But after playing I just got back to warframe... the game is soo clunky and the movement is so bad that made a terrible experience, no matter how hot Bunny is.

Played TFD for a week, when I tried to farm their prime version I just ended up saying to myself, wtf is this grind, its not worth it, the abilities are boring and look like wet fart specially when you come from warframe, sure the characters are "hot" but me being someone who has played a ton of Kmmos from the past, their models are mediocre, heck bdo looks better.

Warframe also rework bad stuff all the time and the last few frames have been insanely op. Caliban, Nyx and Trinity are getting reworks now, the devs have been listening a lot to the players the past three years and the newer content is insanely good.

TFD is definitely not a pay to win game. There are guides on how to farm everything in the game. I've already crafted many of the end game items and 2 ultimate characters all F2P. Yes I do think the micro transactions are egregious, but you don't have to pay to be better than everyone else, learn the game and you can out perform those who pay to progress
Nope will not happen... Game is too unpolished. Frames/descendants do not feel strong. Content is not balanced to be played by any/every descendant. Missing proper melee weapons. So it's more like Destiny 2 but enemies are more like Warframe enemies but the game lacks the Warframe mechanics to deal with them. Simply the game needs polishing. A lot of it.
Well i play both warframe and destiny's. The first descendent copy warframe system but have booty and tits😂. The game is not to serious and feels relax at some point. Yes the grind is insane a bit worse then warframe. But meh it feels like at home. The trick is not to rush anything because honesty the game lack content. 😅

I already stopped playing Destiny 2 for this but after more than 4000 hours I was already tired of the loop. Never found anything of interest in warframe and beyond the fluid gameplay is not match for destiny less for FD. Nevertheless First Descendant will have to work on level design and to me, in giving a bit of extra color to environments. They look too realistic and the alien component gets a bit lost in the equation.
It may have a chance at killing Destiny, but Warframe is too big, too unique, too player friendly, and too innovative to fail to a mediocre looter shooter like this. Now if Warframe starts pushing DEI hard then yeah, Descendent will userp Warframe as the top looter shooter but not until then.

the list goes on and on, now add unoptimized graphics + server connection problems (for many ppl not all) to it! not enough? OK how about ALL COSMETICS cost REAL MONEY! and u cannot farm the cosmetic like you can in warframe! even painting your character parts cost money and u have to pay EACH time u change a SINGLE parts color!
NOW ADD the slave grinding/RNG and gotcha to the game (if you call WF grinding then u have never played Korean games) and you will have this crap called The first descendant which got bunch of kids blind and mesmerized due to hot chicks with sexy body!
