Thermodynamics law on which Any AC/refrigerator machine works says: It is impossible to transfer heat from a body at lower temperature to a body at higher temperature without using work.
So, the AC/refrigerator uses electricity for this "work". The said "work" is done on the refrigeration fluid in a compressor, which ultimately heats up the fluid (this fluid used to be CFCs before they were banned, now more complex substances are used).
Now, since energy can't be created or destroyed, the energy removed as heat & the energy used by compressor for work is finally released into the atmosphere. You must have noticed hot air in front of AC unit fans outside.
Thus, the AC/refrigerator will ALWAYS release more heat that in removes from the AC space. This, there's no sustainable way of using AC, except having Renewables as Electricity source for the compressors.
