Just think, you yourself mentioned there was a dialogue that Lanka mein bhagwa janda gaadenge. And ravana look to some extent. They wanted to show that way.
This is not new either. Amish tripathi in his ramachandra series, makes shukracharya as one who comes from Egypt with script written right to left. In first book there is a chapter where asuras are forced to live West of indus with no right to cross the river.

Even as an atheist, the story is Rama was a huge part of my childhood. This movie was definitely very cringey and disappointing for me. I feel like my memories or nostalgia factor were somehow disrespected.

Even as an atheist, I was offended by the movie. Although I look at Ramayana as a mythology, the story is classic and ingrained deeply in the minds of every Indian, irrespective of their beliefs. Of course that doesn't mean the story doesn't have its ethical flaws like the test that Sita goes through (which is conveniently ignored in most film adaptations) and Shambhuk's killing.

I think you are not aware, Vimoh, but Shaktiman ( Mukesh Khanna) made some extreme comments like Hang the Team of Adipurush in public or something like that. 😅😅 that was extreme. Loved your insights.

@vimohlive yes, I think the same. Because few months back, he was doing a podcast on his channel, one of my favorite modern bollywood singers, Javed Ali. It was good episode. I don't know what happened to him just now.

Today, lets see the view of Sham Sharma. But one thing, I am surprised to see some people are abusing and blaming Saif Ali Khan for the worst portrayal of the film.
That's their Khan phobia and effort in doing Hindu-Muslim with this.

@@arjyachatterjee6874 Not good news. Bad. Because his acceptance of creative liberty and freedom of expression is tied to the known allegiance of the film maker with powerful BJP leaders. So he cut him some slack when Hanuman is heard saying 'kapda tera baap ka'. The same sham sharma blasted Zubair from alt news when he posted a picture of a hotel from a film made 50 years ago where a hoarding of a hotel name hanuman hotel got syllables worn of and change to Honeymoon hotel.

He was having problem with PK where even no Lord Shiva was depicted but he accepted that cringey version of Ramayana (though his argument was to depict Christian or Muslim characters like Lord Shiva in such anti religious movies). Though as a centre left individual, I listen to his arguments and agree with some of his points.

I do think some one really needs to give a rebuttal to his arguments its sad that far right influencers who create conspiracy theories and fearmonger are being invited to what we call indias smartest podcast
@@thedarkknight9335 Due to the compelling nature of his arguments, countering him proves challenging. After conducting thorough research on that individual, I discovered that most of his statements are supported by factual evidence. Despite ongoing efforts, it is not surprising that he has not encountered a substantial rebuttal thus far.

But there are problematic things he speaks like caste was made by british is one of his claims whereas caste can be found in pretty much all of indian history and all genetic studies indicate birth based endogamy from 2000 years and all historic records say so.
The dude is pretty much right about islam and its bloody conflict with indians in medieval era but is wrong about present day indian muslims.
Problem with liberal/left wing intellectuals is they tend to throw labels like majoritarian fasicst more often than rebutting the arguments made by the opposing individuals. Too much of satire sometimes makes us looks fools. The dude can be countered on factual lines using sirveys studies and historical records but the liberal ecosystem doesnt seem to care much about creating its own narrative and countering problematic ideologues like that of j sai deepak and anand ranganathan,
Perhaps the liberal discourse is far too worried about losing its core voters muslims cause when countering these guys you will have to admit that islam has bloody history in india. And many of the left wing folks dont like to admit it cause of purely political reasons. Take tipu sultan or aurangzeb for eg. Instead of admitting there atrocities i see liberals furthering the fuel of a one sided discourse by supporting audrey truschke who try to potray aurangzeb as a good king which he was not.
We need to start by accepatance then challenge his hindutva arguments of caste and brahminism

Also vimoh made a great point about not just like you said liberals should see all perspectives, but when someone has spoken so much nonsense, rebutting them itself is a waste of energy often, but it's sad. Also another thing is that many people like him use exactly what you said, the problems with other religions etc that people are scared to say, and by saying openly they're able to get ahead of anyone else
@thedarkknight9335 unconditional support of left to any thing Islamic and complete blind eye to intolerance and extremism of Islam is the reason behind rise of right wing not only in India but Europe and North America too.
Regarding the moustache thing, even in RRR when in the climax, Ram Charan's character gets dressed up in the imagery of Ram, his face is fully bearded with long hair - no one outraged them.
I guess people are focusing on these trivialities only because the story is terrible and didn't hit people emotionally.
Ram charan's character was inspired by the freedom fighter ALLURI SEETHARAMA RAJU and u can search about him. He uses bow and arrows as weapon

@@saisathwik403 you haven't understood the context of my original comment - it was regarding how some people were angry that in Adipurush Ram & Laxman were showed mustachioed and bearded instead of clean shaven as shown in traditionally.

Hi vimoh, I remember seeing a youtube reviewer saying that "stop insulting our ancient culture" in criticising the movie, so my doubt is that, is it right to call ramayana a part of ancient culture when it is a story?....just wanted to know ur views
isn't story a part of a 2000 year culture which was played in drama from North South???

@@Subh8081 Nope he has recently changed sides. He has raised issues with changing names in UP. He complained about urdu not encouraged. I mean look at his middle name its 'Muntashir', 'Shukla' is his recent addition. He is an opportunist who will change sides in a whiff of air. Even godi media for that matter not everyone are idealists, and Sudhir will be the first one to soften up. He needs just 1 week in jail to change tunes.
