13/3 the Pattaya Post office, I rent a PO box in there for 1,500 baht for the year. works great for getting my US VA mail and letters.

I stayed at "The Classroom" in november. It's not a gogo anymore, as you point out, but it's a bar (sports bar as well as occasional live music) and a small hotel.
The hotel rooms are very big and quite cheap. The private entrance is a plus as well.
I loved the location, the food and the staff, so I am definitely going back. Walking distance to walking street, yet 13/4 is a fairly quiet soi so no problem getting sleep when you need it. And it is short walk to 2nd road or Beach Road if you want to go to anywhere with the Baht bus.
I don't have a whole lot to compare it to, as I have only been to Pattaya once, and it's the first and only place I stayed there (so far), but I think it was great.

two sois that i don't usually transit, however, next visit in about a month, i'll see what the 13s have to offer...i know 13/1 and 13/2 have a few bars worth checking
