Mate I’m a bricklayer aswell and watching you on these videos is like watching poetry in motion! And every thing you aka preach about brickwork is like listening to every old bricklayer I was around during my apprenticeship and through out bumping it to the old wise trails on site! You ooze wisdom and knowledge like they did! Hats off too ya
Hey bud, I'm a Landscaper myself. Well brickpaver really, who has learnt a few other tricks. I'm fascinated buy bricklaying for some reason. I am so keen to learn and do a few small walls. I've been looking for someone really good to learn from. Watching you do that was awesome!! speed very much goes hand in hand with skill I've found. Stoked to have found your channel.
Hi Charlie , just love watching you laying bricks with no line to follow, how do you do it, I find it so relaxing and calming watching bricks being laid.
1. Six course high corner to each front pillar, six course corner to each back corners...(Pick level up once each corner). 2. Tail out (extend) the corners to a line on the gables, just enuff to enable all four corners to be finished to scaffold height. 3. Run the back six courses in, stay on back, pop another couple of six course corners to the back and run in. 4. Six course corner to each front pillar, Tail out (extend corners along gables to a line) 5. Repeat til done. (Obviously final job is to crash in the gables) N.B the level is in the hand hardly at all = more laying.
Freehand you should hardly ever at all need to build more than a six course corner. After a while a corner this size is usually plumb. As you know BIG corners drift out of line and can take some tw4tting back😮
Another great video charlie pal! Ive just got to ask out of curiosity, why when you do a new course, do you wall the brick furthest from the corner and work to the corner? Always start from the corner myself. Thanks, and congratulations to you and amy!
Hi, been watching your videos for ages, really interesting! I’ve always had 1 question, which might seem a bit daft given that it’s obviously NOT a problem… but when you lay loads of courses in 1 go, does the weight not start to squeeze the cement out of the courses towards the bottom? Or has the cement started to go off enough? 😬
Sometimes it does it's more likely to happen if the bricks are wet and it's cold out I have had times when I dry the bricks or the wall with a torch that attaches to a propane tank
In Australia we have to 'join up' after every 3 courses because it is so hot here ! I wish i could lay bricks and the mud doesn't go off that quick !!!!!!!
Great Video Chaz . Look back at the video , lay the brick and scrap it once . Doing it twice every brick is time wasted . After levelling and plumbing then scrap off the excess mortar Get Tom to honey comb the bricks so you can pick them up easily it’s worth a try . Great video Charlie take care and congratulations to you and Amy . All the best .
I like a little better head joint. Gotta be full. That's OK if your racing. But if it's your own. I'm a bit surprised by that as smooth as your going. Makes a longevity structural stronger longer lasting wall. But dude your hired!!!
the bricks are laid to a gauge..say 4 course equals 300mm.. so long as you keep to the gauge , all 4 corners will be level..presuming that the work underneath was laid level to begin with.
Nice one Charlie showing how it should be done I wish I could go back in time start over and do things different but what If & What If & If Only, I didn't so have to live by that. You have done well Charlie, Worked Bloody hard and reaping the Rewards that's what it's all about Amy will be getting her own Official Collison gear so while you are at work she can knock up an Extension or Two, Double Bubble LOL You All Have a great Evening Take Care God Bless.
It’s great you do these video chaz for us lot 👍🏼👍🏼 I know it’s a lot of time and effort on your part! It’s much appreciated by us fans 👍🏼👍🏼

The answer is because he's going in one direction so it's faster
Brilliant effort mate
Profiles are way quicker been laying for 40 years could have had it built by the time that small corner was built , love your work Charles
Without a doubt the most consistent brick layer I've ever scene in 30 plus years on the trowel
Bollocks
Been a brickie for nearly 50 years and never used a profile in my life Always built corners like charlie is doing

If he scrapes twice, probably an extra second. That's 16 minutes per 1000.
Not a great deal of time really 😂
Love the video s u make it look so easy
love the long videos I’m a bricklaying improver you have taught me loads
Your very skilled charlie
Where did you get your stands from?
What little trowel is that looks lovely 👌
It looks like a Marshall town 3310 mate
Another vid of stretcher bond . How many is that now
It looks like a marshall town 3310 to me mate (not the old Nokia phone) 😂
How much gear do you sniff per week?

Go on the legend 👏
Great skills
Roll on super trowel this year can’t wait 👍

How do you get level points building corners? At least with profiles you can transfer a mark with water level or lazer

@@ericlyon1425 yeah that’s what I’m saying. No chance we can go off our slabs here in Australia. It would be 20mm out haha
@@ericlyon1425 more in some cases
U r the goat😊
Top Brickie 👏
Find these videos so interesting and therapeutic, coming from a sparky aswell 😂
Can’t believe a golden trowel boy would leave that closure brick at 30:54 without adjusting.
Do you not earn more when you have 4 profiles up and running in to the line?
The big trowel swap on the big run 😂👌🏻
No doubt in my mind Charlie, you will be super trowel 2024 as well as Tom being the best hod carrier. Have a great day
I will always watch super towel as I'm always learning after 23 years on the trowel 👍

Your a good one Charlie
Ive always been told to lay my first brick on the corner, your doing the opposite?
😊❤
You layed around 1400 bricks , how much is that worth then?
Speeding it up
Old Tommy 2 times, lol. Whats that?
Gaps in the beds now too Charley!? Wtf
I'm guessing you'll not be touching Stu Cromptons new 11 incher 😂
I don't understand why he's carrying mud in a bucket and not a full wheelbarrow same with the bricks save a hell of alot of work for yaself
With profiles my OCD is triggered still.
Freehand? OCD level as high as snoop dog.
Don’t you brush it off then get rid of the goblins toes
Perculiar way of building a corner. I can see your fast but, it would be good to see a close up of the end result?
Charlie hows your dad doing?
Not 1 to waffle on 🙄🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That’s some sloppy ass work, time to give that golden trowel back!
Pop on a link to your work so we can all see.. you probably couldn’t lay an egg if you was a chicken you fucking know-all Edmond
How come at start you Just Laying straight on to muck without spreading ? Not slagging you just interested, plasterer by trade addicted to your videos
Same end result, less time playing with muck more time putting bricks in wall 😊
