    well done my friend. I never thought of wiping the wax on instead of loading the pad, priceless.

      Thank you! I’ve always battled pads that gum up so quick. I figured I’d try spreading it with another rag to help cut down on how fast it gets clogged up. After awhile, the rag gets saturated and just helps spread the wax more too!

    Are you using indica or sativa?

    Great video, I used to do this all the time but I’m pretty sure the wool pad leaves aggressive swirls and light cutting parks. I love these 2 in one products for the simplicity but the wax in the compound tends to be kind of shitty. I’d suggest using just a compound and wool pad at first then washing it to remove oils on the gelcoat and then apply a swirl mark remover/wax sealant afterwards on a foam pad :)

      Yes thank you for the tips! I couldn’t agree more. That’s normally the process but some people just want a quick one step to look good for a few months and don’t want to pay the money extra money for a full correction. This was one of those boats!

    how do you deal with the logo and through fittings and other chrome bits and bobs on the haul?

    • @furlongspeedmarine
      @furlongspeedmarine  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      sometimes I will polish over certain fittings but others I will coat by hand

      Depends on how many stages of polishing you want to do. You can start at a slower speed for a heavier cut then proceeed to speed up the buffer for a polishing affect.

    Is it ok to use the 3m on the vinyl stripes that run the length of the boat ? I can't seem to find an answer to that question anywhere.

    • @furlongspeedmarine
      @furlongspeedmarine  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ive done it for years with no issues, just gums up the pad a little quicker. Ill usually swap pads if I have to go over any vinyl. Some people buff over it, some people swear against it! Hope this helps!

    How well will this work on a travel trailer?

    • @furlongspeedmarine
      @furlongspeedmarine  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on whether it is oxidized or not. If it just has some scratches, i would recommend using a foam pad on a random orbital

      I believe it’s for gel coat surfaces but you could double check in directions for compatability!

    Boat 100% needs to be wet sanded.

    • @furlongspeedmarine
      @furlongspeedmarine  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We rarely wet sand anything or try not to at least. Sometimes all you need is a heavier compound or a few more passes!

    How does it do over decals or stickers? My hull has a pen stripe sticker so I wondered if it’s too rough to go over without damage.

    • @furlongspeedmarine
      @furlongspeedmarine  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I usually don’t have a problem going over the striping. I usually just go light pressure on it, move a little faster, and let the buffer do most of the work on those, don’t know if it’s the right way, but that’s what works for me!

    • @furlongspeedmarine
      @furlongspeedmarine  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I also will sometimes switch to a different pad to prevent color transfer
