Yeah, Wilkinson and Vibramate etc. make pre-made cut down or roller bridges to accomodate the Bigsby trem. They are quite expensive. A full OEM Bigsby setup with a WIlkinson roller type bridge is $450!! It was cool to see you make this work. Well done.
Thanks man! I’ve been looking for a cool bridge for my new Tele project (don’t miss that video) and I found a bridge that ”Gölde” makes. It would be perfect but it seems to be out of stock all over the web. I had to go för the expensive alternativ. 👍
Wow, love your loose bag of parts! You sure can make sparks fly! Telecaster's look great with a vibrato. (Vibrato modulates pitch, tremolo modulates volume)😊 Looking forward to more videos! I'm glad to see you getting closer to the magic 1000!
Ah, thanks for clearing up the vibrato/tremolo difference! Allthough I think Fender calls their Vibrato Tremolo on the headstock. Maybe that’s why its common to get them mixed up?
@TheworldofMattias Yeah, I hear those terms interchanged all the time. Fender does it, and so do many other manufacturers. Gibson called their early ones "vibrolas". At least with using "whammy bar" or "dive bomber" everyone knows what you are referring to. At least the confusion seems to only involve the mechanical device - I've never heard anyone bending and shaking a string and calling it tremolo.🙂
Yeah.. that's what I am talking about, projects like this are really fun to do.. and it give you experience to the day when you decide to put on a real Bigsby on a real Fender Telecaster, or any other branded guitar for that matter. Make sure to lube the översadel and the moving joints on that Bigsby clone and I think it will be all good and stay in tune as long as you don't go crazy on that tremolo arm. Thanks for the video... :D
Did this a while ago on my Partscaster Tele, it's butterscotch with black pickguard like yours, it plays ace, stays in tune, fitted the £35 Chigsby purely for the looks, it works fine but i hardly use it, no way could i justify the money for even a licensed Bigsby, guitar also has Wilkinson pickups and Tuners, brass saddles and a bone nut, sustain is superb.
Again, you are a genius! I just put a real Bigsby on my Telecaster. I'm embarrassed to say how much I paid for it, to do the same thing your set up does...
A real Bigsby is probably much better than mine and I’m a little jealouse of you for owning the real deal. But for the price the Chinese knock of is really good!
@@TheworldofMattias Any experience with the 50€ Vibrolas on ebay? I wanna build a 67 cherry Flying V with vibrola and the real Gibson one is pricey! Unfortunately a Bigsby would be super awkward on a V, I'd rather save that for a cheap Les Paul.
The Bigsby Tremelo works perfectly well with the strings just sliding through the holes already there without any modification, at least it does on mine.
Maybe your bridge holes are bigger. If I would have left mine as they were the would come out on a awkward angle, the stings would not move freely when using the Bigsby.
The first of the projects! I'm really impressed with how good all these chibson and fendor guitars are.
Yeah, they are great fun to work and play with!

Thanks for commenting! Yeah, practise makes perfect! 😊
Great job the Bigsby looks fantastic on the guitar. I definitely cut the spring down a little just to drop the arm, but otherwise perfect job. 👍🏼
Well! I agree! I will have a go on the spring once I repaint it. 🎸😊
Another great video! I love the Tele project. I can’t wait for the next video in the Tele series.
Thanks man! I will fully take it apart and redo it. It’ll be so nice! 😊🎸

Yeah, I suspect I won’t use it that much, but you’ll never now!😊 I agree, a tele looks awesome with a Bigsby.

No sorry I have no experiance with a vibrola. But your project sounds super interesting!
Great upload 👍
Thanks man! 🎸🤘
That was awesome sir.
Thanks man! 🎸😊
Looks great 😊
Thanks man!
Is thiIs this guitar equipped with a fender pickup on the guitar I bought from AliExpress?
No, I fitted Fender pups on the guitar. 🤘🎸
Looks great however 50’s screws for Bigsby are flat heads not Phillips.
That’s the giveaway it’s not true vintage spec.
Yes, I would think they were. 😊👍🎸

Allright, that’s great. Even the thick wound strings? Does your guitar have the strings go through the body originally?
@@TheworldofMattias I use .46 gauge strings for my low E.

Wrong bridge for a bigsby!
Well, I made it work.
