I got SCARED of my Chibson! So I had to do a LEAD TEST!
Are these still available? I like that they don't have holes for the controls. I would put them in different places if it were for me. I wonder though about the center block. I think you said it was poplar. My Harley Benton has a mahogany block. Gibson uses a maple block, which is much heavier than poplar or mahogany. My HB is very neck heavy as a consequence. I imagine yours is too. That'd be my only concern. I have to attach a piece of heavy brass rod (temporarily) at the butt end to rebalance it. I'll eventually drill a hole where the strap button is to glue in the brass.
Great job! Perhaps a Hello Kitty sticker on there somewhere?
Well done my friend! That V looks AMAZING! Black Pearl was the best choice! I’m actually having some cavity plates cut at work tonight for a custom project I’m doing!
If you said to me, "Would you want a pink V" , I would have said" meh, not really." After seeing what you have done here, my answer would have been "Yes please!" Very well done. Congratulations.
This turned out great, I used to use my CNC to make MDF templates for different pickguards on my router table, but, nowadays I use my CNC to make the pickguards, I draw them in the computer and then use different router bits to make the pickguard it self. Back in the day I did just like you did in this video, it takes time and effort but it can turn out great :D
KILLER. really killer. nothing wrong with the pink. Guyker makes some good stuff. Nice job brother. And the pickguard is awesome. O and the trust rod cover is fantastic I love just the little different style to it than a gibson. I need 1 for my flying v. If you make a extra one let me know I'll buy 1 off you.
Thanks man! Of course I can make one for you! You want it in black pearl? ☺️
@@TheworldofMattias Sure. How much is it? Just let me know. Seeing your shop makes me want a bigger one now. Lol. And I love how everything is organized and well placed. Nice job..
Just let me know what I will cost. Thanks brother 🙏
Very cool. Looks killer brother!
Thanks man! Yeah, it was a really fun project! I hope to see your DIY build soon!
@TheworldofMattias waiting on a new kit now. Hopefully soon. 🙂
Very Very nice 👌.
Thanks a lot 😊 🎸
That turned out pretty cool...I thought PINK? but damn!
Yeah, it was a bit of a gamble, but it turned out great!
Beautiful! The pickguard was a very good idea.
Thanks man! Yeah, and it was fun to do as well! 🎸
Looks nice! Will there be a part 2?
Coming within a day! ☺️
Sorry you are in a dream world 😢
That’s where I like to be! 😉
I think a navy or a gray might've brought out the flame a little better, but it came out beautifully.
Thanks man! 🎸
Nice binding on the body, too!
Thanks! 🙏
It's only a veneer if the flames move with the light. Do not confuse a photo flame with an actual thin wood veneer. Photo flames are just that: a photo of a real top placed on paper or mactack ( like used on a vinyl chair) and glued to the top. Meh!
I guess you are right! This guitar however had a real wood veneer, I stripped the paint to make it into a goldtop and there were no mistaking after that ☺️
Tonerider makes incredible pickups regardless of price. I haven’t tried the Rocksongs yet, but I have their Alnico IV Classics, Alnico II Classics, Birminghams, Rebel 90’s, and Vintage Plus Teles and I love them all. I also have some guitars with Seymour Duncans, Bare Knuckles, and Mojotones, and the Toneriders are as good or better than any of them.
Yeah, the Tonerider is the brand I go for if I want a cheap but really good sounding pup. I a pup costs more than $200 I rather go for the originals!
Are these good for 80s metal
I don’t think that’s what they were made for. 🤷♂️
Why didn't you play it at the end of the video? That would have been enough to shut down all the Chibson haters.
I didn’t? 🤔
@TheworldofMattias That was recorded with the guitar in the video? If so then cool, but it would have been better to play it right there and then.
I did not get it quite. Which sound demo was with the Chinese p90’s?
Can find this model as of 11-28-24……help?
Please contact Cathy Zhong on FB and tell her I sent you and she will help you out.
In Finland these are 49.90eur with amp
Can you still get them new in Finland?
That's some really nice parts you got right there, but at 14:42 there is something that is not good at all and that's the neck, strings is way off, you can not have gotten that mounted the right way because its not suppose to look like that, maybe something to look over and see if you did something wrong or if there is a serious issue with the neck or the body. Thanks for the video..
Thanks for noticing, you are not the first. I will attend to it, I think it’s just a mm of but it has to be corrected!
@@TheworldofMattias Take a string of some sort and fasten in the middle of the saddles on the bridge then in the middle of the nut, once you lined the center up you will see that its probably more than just 1-2mm, if the neck seem seated and properly fastened then it can be the bridge that is the problem if its not properly in the center of the body. I am sure you will find the problem once you dig in to it.
🎸
Nice build! but yeah, that neck is severely crooked 15:08
Thanks for noticing! I will attend to it! 👍🎸
Do you get a seriel number on the neck?
Yes!
Awesome! Nicely done
Thanks man!
Nice job, I did it a few years ago with second hand parts in the same way you did, I mean routing the extra cavities for the mid boost PCB and the battery. It ended up quite well but the noiseless pickups aren't the best choice. I have a '94 Clapton Strat with the Lace sensors and I prefer them. It seems the noiseless pickups are some sort of stacked bobbins single coil to cancel the noise. So I kept the Lace Strat. Just a question, is the body you used made in USA? The holes in the neck pocket and under the pickguard remind me of Mexico Strat bodies.
The body was not specified from Fender, at least what I could tell. Do you know the difference?
It’s perfect
Thanks man!
The real deal is when you do it with used parts and it costs half as much, at least. Partcasters are great and can be fantastic instruments.
I agree, that would be awesome! However, to get exactly the parts I wanted I would have to really search for it and end up buying maybe five guitarsl or more.
@@TheworldofMattias I ended up with 15!!! A real nightmare!
The original blackie was a parts caster
Yes indeed!
Hey. You made it how you want it even if it wasn't exactly like Blackie. Nice work my friend. Nice😮❤
Thanks man! Yes, it’s not Blackie, it is my take on Claptons classic guitar ☺️
Nice job! Looks beautiful and sounds great! I have a 2003, made in Japan Blackie with the TBX and the mid boost (Lace Sensors). It's a great guitar and super fun! Enjoy yours! you are going to have a lot of fun with that strat and that mid boost!
I thought about putting on the Lace sensors but decided on noiseless in the end. Congrats on your guitar, I bet it’s great!
It's not even a v neck? What's the point? You could have just thrown the tuners and TBX circuit on any old strat and had the same results. If you're going to spend that kind of money, you can get much higher quality from aftermarket builders for less money than from Fender. True vintage spec with real nitro finish made from high quality woods. You can even have the proper logos put on. You just assembled an overpriced partscaster. Not worth the time or money.
Thanks for your input but I respectfully disagree!
The high e looks like it's too close to the edge of the fingerboard unless it's an optical illusion. If it is, loosen the four bolts on the neck and push the neck so the strings are aligned and while holding it there tighten the screws. I had to do this on a partscaster I built a few years ago. I was leery of this at first but once the screws are tight the neck will stay put.
Thanks for that tip, very useful! 🎸
HOW DO I FIND CATHY ZHONG?

Great stuff. More fender please.
I hope it will be a lot more Fenders, I love them! Thinking on doing a Jazzmaster or a Jaguar. Fenders odd-balls but great guitars!
Great video ,your Like me , i make my own guitars also ,Well upgrade and modify , refinishing...etc...i have videos also. 👍👍👍👍
That´s great man! I can see we are alike !
I hate to be that guy, but… is that the correct bridge? There seems to be quite a bit of space from the low E to the edge of the fretboard. Also, it looks like the low E string doesn’t pass over the pole piece on the neck pickup. Sorry.
Of caurse, be that guy! I appreciate it! What bridge would you recommend?
I got the red one 1990 it got the gold lace sensor pups, your look good ❤
Yeah, the Lace sensors, those are epic!
I must be the most unlucky person in the world because every single time I order an Sj 200, it either has a broken Headstock or doesn't come at all unfortunately. With the amount of money I spent on broken or lost in the mail sj 200's i probably could've just bought an actual Gibson sj-200😞
@@JohnSmith-gu6ii that’s a bummer! I have been lucky, not a single brake so far!
Who's this guy? What u do to Mattis? No Hat? What going on here? 😂😂😂 nice vid, looks great 👍
Haha! I just left it in the house and didn’t want to go get it. The hat will be back, I promise 🤣
👍🏻👍🏻
🎸🎸🎸
Wow, it looks and sounds fantastic. great job
Thanks man!
Great job, Matty! I figured you'd eventually get one of those boost kits, but I didn't think you'd buy a whole new guitar to put it in! You've got to be closing in on forty guitars by now!
I don’t know, I’m selling at quite a rate as well. I only keep the ones I use. Don’t like having hordes of guitars I never play. This one though, I’m keeping!
