This is awesome! Great job! I now understand why my cultures always died. I also was wondering where to get those ventilated lids! I never understood how to actually harvest them but now I can actually see and understand! I love the video and I want to see more of your bettas!!!
Jules Askalotl That makes me so happy because that means I achieved my main goal of being informative (despite some really bad camera skills!) Heck yeah! I will definitely do more with my fish, they're the focus of my channel after all! But this video wasn't actually about them so I could only sneak in a little bit of fish footage. I couldn't help myself, I just love my babies and their little bug eyes. At some point maybe I should do a tank tour? Show my fish and their setups. Either way thank you for checking my video out. Means alot to me!
Zoo at 113 Thank you!!! You can try eBay there are many sellers with cultures available, I personally use insectsales.com the company. You can order from their website, Amazon or eBay. Hope this helps!
Hi amber i am having some issues with my female betta which i am trying to breed . Whenever i release her from the bottle she first dances at the male and the male also dances but then she suddenly turns out to the male and chase him and my male betta also got soooo afraid .what should i do amber pls say
JS Bettas Only use banana. If you don't have any just omit it. You'll be fine. Old fashioned oats are the way to go. Make sure you let it cool down before adding the cultures.
Big City Bettas Thank you so so much I am just a beginner breeder learning so much through TH-cam and creative pet keeping and of course you and everybody's making everybody else's lives a little easier
Betta Crafts Kasia is the one who encouraged me to start this channel and share some of what I know. I've been breeding a long time and she thought that knowledge could benefit people.
Please help , l am breeding my bettas and the female released eggs and i took out the female but i think the father has ich . What should i do ? Can i increase the temperature ? Or can i use salt ? And if ok , at what temperature should i use and how much salt?
Ram Sundar First of all before spawning you really need to make sure your fish are healthy. Ich does not just pop up overnight and any fish being spawned need conditioning for several weeks before attempting. You can increase the temperature to 86-87 and add aquarium salt at a rate of 1 tablespoon to every 5 gallons. Ich-x is a good product to use as well. Do keep in mind that breeding is incredibly taxing on a fishes system and body therefore your male is in a very fragile position right now as you're also fasting for the spawn. Ensuring your fish are in top condition and ready to spawn is one of the most important parts of breeding.
Ram Sundar You can and you might lose some fry but if they get ich your whole spawn is lost. I would focus more on helping your male and hoping the fry survive. As a tropical fish that's fairly salt tolerant bettas can handle both the heat and salinity.
Dare I say... first?
Lol....!
Thanks Amber for this recipe 🥰 I have found it to be far more pleasant by adding banana 🌟

Why more.... what happened to the last bettas?
@@theanimaladdiction huh?
Can you please put the link to the bottle/container you used?
Can the oats and banana be microwaved?
Why do you add some raw oats at the end?
Great video, I'd love to give this a try. Where would I get a starter culture?

Yes! I'll take a look, thank you :D
Zoo at 113 You're welcome! I started this channel to try and help people so I'm always happy to answer questions.
Doing a good job :D
I went to look and there were no cultures there... 😢
So I just redo it the way you do it an reacroop MS and yeast and place them on top of makes potatoes. Correct?
JS Bettas I'm sorry but I'm really not sure what you're asking me. You don't use mashed potatoes with this method and I'm not sure what MS is...

Can you use regular sugar and which oatmeal? Instant or old fashioned?
JS Bettas Only use banana. If you don't have any just omit it. You'll be fine. Old fashioned oats are the way to go. Make sure you let it cool down before adding the cultures.
Would a coffee strainer work as well?
Fredric Marquez For?
Big City Bettas for the lid part where I poke holes into the lid and then add a cloth that air can go through but no insect can enter or exit
Fredric Marquez That would absolutely work!!
Big City Bettas thank you so much
Fredric Marquez You are so welcome. If you have any other questions feel free to reach out.

Big City Bettas the eggs have hatched and can i use the same temperature and quantity of salt
