From my experience: one area and one area + are the only mode I can get reliable focus. Everything else (besides the face/animal) if it can't find enough contrast it fails to focus.
I missed a lot of good shots because of it.
And I agree high iso performance is EXCEPTIONAL.

Thank alot man! For photos I have it in natural profile settings and for video I had it in flat profile but now that I have the upgrade log profile. Most likely be shooting in vlog going forward for video
Thanks for the honest information on af for photos. I have been looking for videos that explains how single point af works for photos cause I also don't trust af c. Can you do another video recording the screen or viewfinder while you focus on different objects. I just want to see how fast it locks.. and also can you provide 1 or 2 raw photos? I know I am asking a lot..but I really would like to get the s1.. it's just some of the reviews I saw that's holding me back..I just need that confirmation...i hope you understand..

I agree. Another reviewer felt that the photos he took with the S1 look more like video stills than actual photographs, so I guess you really have to work at it in post to make the tone look good.
@@cremersalex yeah idk what hes talking about..straight out of camera these photos look really good like canon except for the colors but they do not look like still video images....and there easy to edit like canon..color science is really good

Thank you. I had the sigma ef glass and yeah I used the sigma mc-21 adapter with it. Works great for photo.

Nice review of the S1, Mario! As a landscape photographer wanting to move from my Fuji X-T3 to a FF System, I was considering this S1, the Canon R6, or the Nikon Z7. I often print large (30" x 40"). Do you think this S1 (and the Lumix 224-105 f/4 Macro would provide sharp detailed prints at that size? Thanks!
Hey thank you. I'm not sure honestly. I havnt tried the other cameras or the Panasonic lenses. I usually go sigma route..I'd say try to rent the other cameras to see as I don't want to give incorrect details or maybe there should be some sample photos online to download?

Hi bro, I purchased a new Lumix S1 recently and I want to know the settings for still photography can you please help me out? My pictures looks little too saturated, little of contrast. Which picture profile do I have to shoot? Or how to set the custom balance and white balance? How do I get good colors straight out of the camera?
Hey whats up...for still photography I just shoot in natural picture profile..i don't really touch any settings or wb because i shoot in raw...ill just color grade the photos in photoshop ...straight out of camera I wouldn't know which one takes good photos..

Anyone have drastic exposure differences in live view vs finished photo? When I import photos to Lightroom and other software, the photo ends up dark as hell, but when I'm taking the phot, the exposure is bright. I have to blow the exposure out when I'm taking the photo for it to come out in Lightroom correctly. Constant preview setting is on
Love the vid. Question, if you're taking a photo of a group of people would you still use "one area focus" and if so how well does it perform in that circumstance???
Thanks man! Yes I would still use it..it performs the same..just bump the aperture higher to maintain more focus for a group 👍

Please HELP - Trying to get a Panasonic S1 - seller listed it as NTSC version - I live in the UK... Can you please help to discipher what this means.
I thought NTSC was just a reference to video frame rate for the US... Or does it mean it cannot be used in the UK????
You should buy one with pal version.Europian version.
what modes do you shoot in? still figuring out the workflow jumping between photo and video after switching from Sony
I shoot photos in natural raw..not sure if that's what you ment?

I heard that the Panasonic Lumix s1 raw files don't work in Lightroom 5 I wasn't sure if you heard about that if that's true. your thoughts.
They work fine on mine but I edit in photoshop. It's a new file but should be good
Did you just use the kit lens for the S1?
No. I used the sigma adapter and paired it with the sigma 24 1.4 lens
