This is my favorite Christmas Carol of all time. And I, too, yelled "Fuck!! Me!!!" when I heard this yesterday. I'm a 75 year old grandmother - and this made me SO happy. And, Geoff makes me happy every time I hear him (he also makes me glad I'm a girl. Well, as my mother always said, 'I'm old, not dead.'). Merry Christmas to all.
I wish you had enjoyed this more - I think seeing someone's head explode on TH-cam would be something to remember! Geoff seems to really like taking traditional Christmas carols and completely re-imagining them for his particular brand of amazing, and this is certainly one of them! This and his God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen are both completely different than any versions I have ever heard before.
😂 Geoff sends you up - down - up... in his version of this song. Someone once wrote in the comments on Geoff's channel "This man doesn't have vocal cords - he has tectonic plates". 🎶
My favorite quote from the comments section of his "Carol Of The Bells" video specifically - "This man's voice could cut down a Christmas tree and make it decorate itself."
My favorite part is the "other" Geoffs will look under at the "main one and smirk or smile as they build up to rock your world. He's done it in other sounds, but he knew... KNEW... he was gonna fuck some people up!
I have to agree - I also think this is Geoff's best arrangement and execution of a Christmas song - and those low notes were beyond epic. I like how its not all sweet and Chrismassy - it's festive season in LOTR worthy!! ⚘️🕊
Sooo... Smaug, Bahamut, Pete's Dragon, Tiamat, and The Loch Ness Monster all decided to sing Christmas Carols this year! Yep ... that happened....🐉🐉🐉🐉🐉
Who knew Christmas songs could be intense and epic? Us because of Geoff three years ago. And he outdid himself on this one. His best. He reinvented it while still retaining the very best of the soul of the song. As for what he can't do? He can't sing while inhaling. He leaves that to Layne
Geoff's voice is amazing in such a wide range, and his skills, dedication and creativity shine through everything he creates. This video is truly a gift! As I commented on Geoff's video: His epic arrangement shook me out of a mood slump I didn't even realize I was in. There are some cozy christmas classics, and then there are songs like this, channelling a "faith, compassion, grace and kindness = REVOLUTIONARY" spirit that's missing or in many communities (religious or otherwise) nowadays. In a society splintered by fear, war and sorrow, staying hopeful and caring for each other is even more important, and throughout all of history, music has played a big part in evoking those emotions. So let's enjoy Geoff's soul-shaking subharmonics, heavenly harmonizing, and genius arrangement! 🥰Merry Bassmas and Happy Holidays!
Odin: RIDE TO MIDGARD, MY VALKYRIE FOR WARRIORS SHALL FEAST IN ODIN'S HALL THIS EVENING! Valkyrie: Nay Sire, "tis but the mortal men call Castellucci singing a Yuletide song
There are a lot of great things I think and have said about this masterpiece, but if you needed a piece of music to remind you that you're alive, THIS is the music to choose. This hits on a primal "I'm alive" level.
I didn't think he would ever do something I liked better than God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen. I think I don't have to have a favorite. He is an amazing artist. I know your advent calendar is probably full, but his version of I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas is fantastic. Plenty of scary bass and tenor on the other hand!
Thanks for this reaction to Geoff's Christmas release. We know how he spent much of the Thanksgiving holiday week...filming/editing this for us. So epic!
Thank you Viking for another priceless reaction to Geoff.❤ Please do a reaction video to Geoff's solo cover Song Of Durin. He sure knows how to reach deep down into your soul with this one .
I absolutely love Geoff. In the last few years I’ve noticed his voice keeps getting better. His range has increased dramatically over a few years. He gets lower and higher now than 3 years ago. He’s incredible. My favourites are 16 tons, headless horseman, you don’t mess around with Jim, Big iron, man of constant sorrow, ghost riders in the sky, big bad John and Misty mountains cold.
This is ominously delicious. It is a Ukrainian carol, and this seems particularly moving to me bearing in mind their suffering in their war-ravaged country. He sings it like an incredibly powerful WAR anthem to encourage them. I don't know if that's what he was thinking in his arrangement and production of this, but it's a perspective that strikes me as especially relevant.
I've watched his video several times now, and get chills every time. Had me almost in tears from the pure joy of it - just seeing how much you were enjoying the music. Great reaction!
This is also my favorite Christmas song now. I love everything you do. I must have been a viking in a past life cause it gives me the vibes of this being one of their Christmas songs. They were very powerful and iso is this. My favorite s also the extremely low parts. But the whole song is a masterpiece. Honestly I never care for this song because of the voices and repeatingness. I have sensitive ears and high singing like in the other versions always hurt. Especially in the repeats. Geoff brought all that down a notch and mixes other ranges as well. He also smoothed it out to take away the high sharpness. That made it more pleasant to my ears. I hope you do Voiceplay's Christmas video as well.... Zat You, Santa Claus? This is definitely one kids can watch.
Oh, I love this reaction. My first response to that first deep drop was also to step away from my desk and walk around in a circle for a minute giggling nervously. Sheesh, he’s so good.
You haven’t done his cover of “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” yet, have you? You may want to work that in this month if you didn’t already have it planned.
Thank you for a stellar reaction!!! I was never a fan of christmas music...Geoff is changing my mind. This is awesome, in the original sense of the word!🎉🎉🎉🎇🎇🎆🎆💕💕💕
I just saw this yesterday, and my first thought was "I hope Viking reacts to this" and here you are today. YAY!🎉 Awesome song, awesome cover, awesome reaction. Thanks! 😊
Been feeling a little down. Tripped on our gate for this kitties and did a face plant on the floor. Damaged my nose. It will heal. But you cheered me up once again.thank you viking Mary b.❤
Skol. This is everything you like? I enjoy watching a good reaction video. Seeing a goosebumping, dancing, giggling Viking is always fun. Geoff turns a Christmas song into a Yule song.
Thank's for a great review. Geoff is fantastic and so talented. If you really like bass you should check Home Free in Do You hear What I hear. Tim's low bass is unbelievieable as it is sung in an ice castle. It is amazing. Have a Merry Christmas.
That Tesla Carol of the Bells sounds like the Trans Siberia Orchestra's performance. A popular recording of over the top Christmas light displays all over TH-cam. Probably because of the bombastic TSO performance. 😊
Song: Amazing! 😍 Viking Reaction: Perfect as always 😁👏 Side note: your "background" with the gently falling snow...I actually looked out my window thinking I would see it too...well duh!! Forgot I live in a different country 😵💫😜🤣 But this is how relaxing & enjoyable your reactions are, like you're a dear friend sharing your love of music with me in my living room 🥹🥰
This is so interesting. I didn't think Carol of the Bells could be scary, but that basement Merry Christmas kind of is. Being a sucker for percussion and bass - to have them both in one song - yes, please.
Didn't get to see live, blooming pain meds put me out again. Hope you are all well. Second time I've heard this guy thanks to Viking, I just love his voice. This was so much fun to hear and to watch! What a lovely personal touch naming your Patreons like that, one of the reasons we love you so much. Thanks again, you are the best!
As some mentioned, this is dragon style. I'd rather say it's dragon🐉 combined with angel 👼. In the end it's sooooooooooo Geoff ❤️🔥. All those things together make me love this redention.
Since you’re in the Christmas spirit check out these songs with a new twist by the band Liliac th-cam.com/video/_N4QCAJyQQM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=-7Tzk2vHdHVQ4MPd. th-cam.com/video/hGBFbCVK-XE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=vwApd3aRL9XCxykA

Yeah, I'm old but not dead, too. The more bass the better
My feelings exactly! How do you describe a song like this? Beyond brilliant. It taps into our primeval souls. Thanks for the super reaction
Hahaha, good thing that didn't happen ;)
😂 Geoff sends you up - down - up... in his version of this song.
Someone once wrote in the comments on Geoff's channel "This man doesn't have vocal cords - he has tectonic plates". 🎶
YES!
Another quote about Geoff from a reactor that I like is something like Geoff having an octave below bass. (I forget the exact quote.)
My favorite quote from the comments section of his "Carol Of The Bells" video specifically - "This man's voice could cut down a Christmas tree and make it decorate itself."
This was already my favorite carol. And then we were gifted with…. THIS!
It's being called the "Die Hard" of Christmas songs!
😂😂😂 I totally believe you!
My favorite part is the "other" Geoffs will look under at the "main one and smirk or smile as they build up to rock your world. He's done it in other sounds, but he knew... KNEW... he was gonna fuck some people up!

I've been calling this an onslaught rather than a song. But I love it! Fabulous reaction from you, too.
Sooo... Smaug, Bahamut, Pete's Dragon, Tiamat, and The Loch Ness Monster all decided to sing Christmas Carols this year! Yep ... that happened....🐉🐉🐉🐉🐉

This version is EPIC ❤
And the "dragon soul" is strong in this one 😅
Thanks for the amazing reaction 🫶🏻

When there are five Geoffs you know it will be epic. This was fantastic.
You entirely mirrored my reaction.
Odin is pleased! This should be playing as you enter Valhalla
😂😂😂
Odin: RIDE TO MIDGARD, MY VALKYRIE FOR WARRIORS SHALL FEAST IN ODIN'S HALL THIS EVENING!

I'm the same Ilona. How on earth can you to God rest ye.... But he did!
Geoff is incredible! Thanks!
YES!
We COULD tell you found this 'kind of exciting'!
There is 'bass'.....then their is Geoff.......just another level...
Hi Viking I love your reactions they're awesome, Geoff was amazing. It was definitely bombastic, thank you Viking.
Wonderful song.
Thanks for the lovely response to it.
Geoffs have again proved he is a draconic force of nature. Geoffquakes galore!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤😂
Someone said he doesn’t have vocal cords… he has tectonic plates :p
Thanks for this reaction to Geoff's Christmas release. We know how he spent much of the Thanksgiving holiday week...filming/editing this for us. So epic!
Ahh the pleasure seeing all the shocked expressions❤🎉🎉🎉
Thank you Viking for another priceless reaction to Geoff.❤ Please do a reaction video to Geoff's solo cover Song Of Durin. He sure knows how to reach deep down into your soul with this one .
Song of Durin is an equal level of epic

I got the same feeling when VoicePlay did Stand by Me. That sense of sticking by each other was so inspiring in such troubled times.
You're having too much fun!😄💝💞
my apologies ;)
"THIS IS EVERYTHING I LIKE!!!" Well said, sir. I'm with you. Please don't collect yourself -- that was an awesome reaction! Cheers

The manliest man's version. I love bass, and especially Geoff's smooth deep bass.
A Dragon Choir version.
Check the album cover art.
THIS THIS THIS!!!!!!! YES! This is now my favorite genre of Christmas music, and I NEED more of it!
Oh, I love this reaction. My first response to that first deep drop was also to step away from my desk and walk around in a circle for a minute giggling nervously. Sheesh, he’s so good.
Awesome reaction as always! You make my day, Viking, thank you 😊
My pleasure!!
I knew you would like this one! 😁 Thanks for the reaction.
You haven’t done his cover of “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” yet, have you?
You may want to work that in this month if you didn’t already have it planned.
@Gael4ce He did it a few days ago. I think it might have been day 1 or 2 of his advent releases.
I LOVE your reaction! That’s how I feel! 💜💜💜
Ohhh he sure can drop that voice to the floor. Very clean, deep bass. This is a great video. Thank you for the reaction Viking. 🎄
It feels like a "Dragon-version" Just WOW❤
My Trifecta would be Geoff, Tim, and Avi doing something unimaginable. This is a definite treat though. Thank you Geoff!! and VK Reacts!!
Ya got rumbled!

Thank you. Jefs performance was really good.

Can appreciate this man’s vocal Range
I'll be watching your reaction all year long! So much fun!!
Jack Skellington tells Santa to hold my beer and sings this Carol. Nightmare during Christmas ensues. Great reaction. Merry Xmas!
Nailed it!!!❤❤😊😊
Amazing 🤗👏

First time hearing this. Enjoyed it very much.
what a silver fox YIKES ! LOL
I couldn't click on this fast enough! Knew you'd love it.
Carol of the Bells like you've never heard it before. Check Geoff's comments about the origin of the Carol of the Bells. Tell us how you really feel!
This is so interesting. I didn't think Carol of the Bells could be scary, but that basement Merry Christmas kind of is. Being a sucker for percussion and bass - to have them both in one song - yes, please.
I know you would Love it !😆
Damn, this was outstanding 😀
I know right!
Your not ready xxx
Instead of bombastic side eye, we get Geoff with the bombastic floor dropping bass
Didn't get to see live, blooming pain meds put me out again. Hope you are all well. Second time I've heard this guy thanks to Viking, I just love his voice. This was so much fun to hear and to watch! @@VikingReacts Thanks Viking. Fibromyalgia is not funny, sigh. See you in the next one though. Love to the horde.
I ❤ the camera shakes! ❤❤

These have all been good, Viking, but I am waiting patiently for the master.
I could assume but who are you waiting for?
❤
As some mentioned, this is dragon style. I'd rather say it's dragon🐉 combined with angel 👼. In the end it's sooooooooooo Geoff ❤️🔥. All those things together make me love this redention.

It's giving Kringle vs Krampus 🥵💀🤭🫠
Geoff just casually creating his own epic badass Christmas genre…Mariah who? Buble who? 😂
I keep thinking this needs an age restriction. It's too good to be completely legal 😅
It really is!
Would love to see your reaction to Peyton Perish, His song Ragnarok and Dane are amazing
Have you checked out pentatonix’s version?🌺
