- Sometimes you just have to tell Lanius to stop. I wish I was creative enough to come up with this video on my own. The idea came from SacredLiquid. So thanks buddy you were pretty much entirely responsible for this video. So if its bad I blame you lol.

It'd make sense if the Legion hadn't lost the first battle for hoover dam lol. If the NCR was so weak, the Legion wouldn't've lost in the first place.
If you wait until the NCR is stronger to defeat them, they'll have better loot and give more XP.

Just the image of this 7 ft, 300 lb monster clad in steel armour and a sword the size of a tree just running away like Sonic the Hedgehog is so ridiculous and funny that it whiplashes the mood instantly.
I imagine in this version that lanius is saying all this stuff about strength and power to cover up the fact that he's so disturbed and terrified by this lunatic pulling a giant clock out of nowhere and openly sobbing in his face. Like imagine you're Lanius, veteran of a hundred battles, the mere mention of your name makes most men's blood run cold, and in the middle of the greatest battle of your military career this pale grumpy meme man runs up to you without a trace of fear, heeds none of your words and just screams incoherently about child protective services. You'd have to run away for fear you were in some twisted nightmare

This was my first ending. I had a disease that decreased my speech by a few points. I was upsetti spaghetti.

Honestly, lanius is probably one of my favorite characters.

I love how the ending theme is already playing it’s like the game knows your either gonna one shot Lanius or convince him to flee
So, someone help me out, is there a way you could move thousands of soldiers into NCR territory without either going through the long 15, the big MT, or the Sierra Madre? Did lanius actually think far enough ahead to realize that no matter which way he goes he'll run into another choke point further up the road, and this time have to face the entire NCR, on top of whatever powers ((like perhaps the Texan Brotherhood)) decide to attack his legion while it's weakened? The Legion really does seem to have painted itself into a corner here with no real great options besides not sending thousands to die to take the dam. Basically, what I'm saying is, it's time to stop.
Yeah they're pretty much fucked and have overextended themselves, even if they took the dam they'd just get picked apart from all sides. Pretty much the same as real rome, try to do too much and end up doing nothing.
@@gelusvenn5063 kinda poetic, that just like millions in the prewar world, Vegas taught Lanius the painful lesson that sometimes the only way to win the game is just not to play it.

I think one of the things you can point out toanius is that the Legion is only held together by Caesar. He doesn't have a successor and none of his commanders like each other.
He second he kicks it, the Legion will shatter. I believe it's one of the things Lanius will totally agree with you on.
And then brave Sir Lanius ran away and was promptly castrated by Caesar upon his return.
I think Caeser was already dead by this point

This is almost a worse ending because now the legion, rather than backing off sense their best guy was just axed, will be training the fork out of themselves back east until they can fight the NCR even harder.
True, if not for two things: 1) it avoids further bloodshed at the damn. With Lanius ending the battle early, the Legion retreats rather than dying on the field of battle and having his legion fight on in his memory (we don’t see that but it’s more my head canon). 2. With Caesar dead (if assassinated or from the tumor) the Legion will collapse on its own before ever being able to mount another assault (and that part is in the text of the game itself).
@@dylanmckenna4240 Yea, the game pretty much spells out the Lanius is an attack dog and Caesar was his handler. Lanius doesn't have the leadership skill to keep something as big as the legion together forever.

My favorite part about talking down Lanius is convincing him that his plan to use the intake pipes for a flank assault is playing straight into an NCR trap, just like Boulder City. He pauses and considers that surely no-one would be dumb enough to completely ignore that possibility.
When we, the player, know full well that the NCR actually *was* dumb enough to overlook the danger! 😂
