I added some information about the kind of files I've been editing for quite a while, there are some tutorials all over the place about how to edit them... Like, the description works as a dictionary or something similar. :) Now if only I could make a whole new layout from scratch... xD

Wingcapman Eleven I had a quick look through some brylt files and I wanted to ask you something: to move things around you only need to change the X and Y values on the "translation" part right ?
mel _ Yep, that's right. :) I haven't tried out the Z positions though. Pretty sure that one is the depth (if you want to put a texture on top of another one for example), I often have seen the value 1800 and -1800 around, might be interesting to experiment with those.
Wingcapman Eleven Hey I was wondering if you were experiencing issues with wiilayouteditor because i cannot get it to run on my windows 7 laptop (it crashes whenever I load a file) but it runs perfectly fine on my brother's computer which runs windows 8. Its annoying because I am now done with school and exams and I had planned to change the main menu and the hud when racing.
mel _ Wii Layout Editor is well known with crashes if you haven't exported all the folders with all the files included (like, if it misses just one file for just one thing you want to edit, then it'll crash)... However, I never heard or have seen that it crashes upon loading the program itself. I know it doesn't load on my laptop at all, but never managed to crash it by loading it. I dunno if I can help you out with this. If you haven't found a way to fix it, then try Benzin - it's a program which converts brlyt and brlan files to an xml format, and it doesn't have a picture preview, so you have to manually test out the differences (like I sadly have to do). Good luck. :)

I might share the menu once I made it working for widescreen users too, now that I know how to change parts of a somewhat more important file format, buttons are much easier to edit now without messing up anything else, but I can't say when I'll publish it, sorry.
