- Lynn recommends 6 easy steps for the best tie dye results possible:
1. Use Jacquard Procion MX Dyes: www.jacquardproducts.com/proc...
2. Use 100% cotton fabric!
3. Pre-soak the fabric in Soda Ash: www.jacquardproducts.com/soda...
4. Follow the directions and use the correct amount of dye!
5. Use Urea for turbo charged colors: www.jacquardproducts.com/urea
6. Wait at least 12-24 hours before rinsing!

Thanks! Just getting into this art and between you and MrTieDye I had a successful first run (Cotton/soda ash/ procion mx etc)
These were awesome instructions and I learned something that I didn't actually know about and that is going to change up my game for sure. Thank You !!!
Really helpful info, I've been watching a number of tie dye videos the past few weeks and this one is a standout on supplies and materials. No one's mentioned urea yet, and as a dabbler in watercolours I am eager to pick some of this chemical up for my dyeing of fabric and of papers :) :)
Thankyou for sharing, please do more videos I learned so much I never knew just getting into this ausome xx❤❤
Thank You, very informative!!😊✌️
Really helpful video. tysm.
Was wondering if urea was necessary, never used it and was wondering why my colors run and are light. Guess I need to buy some
Hi , i have just watched the video , will the uera work for other dyes to like from darhma ? Loved watching the video thank you . Kind regards sharon .
Great video Ty!!
Grazie molto bello..mi ha aiutata molto
Thank you
Thank you, great information! Would it help to heat the tie materials if they were placed into a dark garbage bag and left in the sun?
Yes, the warmer the environment during "batching" the better
Thanks!
Really help full. I have a question. When we tie dying t shirt and still left a lot of tie dye in the bottle. Can we kept for tomorrow or more than 3 day or 7days.?
The dye should be used within 5 days or so. And if any Soda Ash gets into the dye bottle, then it is more like 1 day.
@@jacquardproducts thnks so much. Keep make a good video like this..
I tend to get dye transfer when washing out, not sure how to make that stop.
Are you using Jacquard Procion dyes and soda ash?
What do you rinse it in? Vinegar solution?
Just hot water!
Lo uso su seta va benissimo
I had some issue with the dye i use the olive green dye and after all the process i did like soaking in the soda ash then after dying mixture ans aftee 24 hours i notice the green dye i use have some color blue part i didnt know what happen why i got some. Color blue
Did you fabric come out blue? That would be strange. If you are having any trouble, you can always write to techsupport@jacquardproducts.com.
Soada ash as inwaht you put in swimming pool?
Correct!
Hello
Is the Urea used for dying the same used as fertilizer?
Yes, we believe so
How many % of nitrogen that u use. I found at market place they have 46% nitrogen urea. this urea usualy use for plant grow faster. Can i use this and mix with dye?
@@jacquardproducts please share with me 🤗
Oh now I know why everytime I do the diy it’s always super light all I use is a kit from Walmart put water in it let it dry hang it up and once it’s dry I just throw it in the dryer I only really wear tye dye and my shirts are always really light but iv almost perfected my shirt spirals
I put mine in my oven on the warm/hold setting.. my question is, should I rinse with cold or hot water after the shirts set?
The first wash should be in hot water with Synthrapol detergent if possible
@@jacquardproducts ok tell, that’s what I have for detergent, thank you that helps! I appreciate it! ✌️💜😊
So if my fleece hoodie is 80% cotton and 20% polyester, this dye wont work?
Since the fabric is mostly cotton, the Procion MX dyes will actually work well. It just won't color 20% of the threads, but that is a low enough percentage that you may not even notice.
@@jacquardproducts Thank you so much for the fast response. Ill give it a shot and report back!
Nice

Where to buy 100 % cotton clothing. It’s difficult to find
Shirtmax.com
samantha nicholson thank youb
@@done8391 greaful dyes and dharma trading company they have clothing blanks as well. Almost 1 less each then hobby lobby's sale. There's more but these place I bought from. Amazon has pks of 6,8 or ten but all the same size... About 2.50-3$ each just be aware your not choosing a case unless you want to buy all the same size, wish they offer a variety of sizes in a case though.
