Cheers mate, yea i wasn't sure either i thought it would of at least fucked the bolt.
I'm all the more impressed that it went through all with energy left to stop in the butt. Especially as it was with a penetration-minimising field head. A bodkin should go deeper as the squared edges act to peel/split the steel allowing the rest of the head to push through with less resistance. Mild steel isn't very effective armour against bolts or arrows from bows, unless quite thick.
My grandpa had this crossbow when I was like 13-14 and I shot it .... it was the first crossbow I ever shot and it was one of the best experiences I ever had

I'm not sure what the max range would be mate pretty far I would imagine as they have a lot of power and accuracy is really good if you use a scope just make sure it's zeroed

From what distance did you shoot?
would the arrows that come with the bow do that damage or did you get different ones?
I got different ones mate. It comes with aluminium ones I bought fibreglass ones.
