    That's the easier job you have show us here! I would say that jacking is the most difficult part if you don't the right equipment. Well done

      Hi Cristiano, this must be one of the fastest ever comments on one of my videos! Thank you! The problem is, every job starts with Jacking up and supporting the car and I have found that if I show this every time, people get bored and leave the video. So I try to get straight to the task at hand. I have got a video showing how to Jack up the front of the car here: th-cam.com/video/fLMSeSBiTNg/w-d-xo.html and the process is pretty similar. Instead of jacking up on the cross member at the front, you jack on the diff at the rear. Then you support on the sill / crimp weld jacking point or on a solid section of the suspension arm. However, very IMPORTANT, it isn't recommended to work under the car if you don't have the right equipment, which includes a good quality trolley / floor jack and axle / jack stands rated at the correct loading for your vehicle. Hope that helps!

    Would you recommend put exhaust assembly paste on the sleeves?

    • @ReviveMyRide
      @ReviveMyRide  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I suppose it wouldn’t do any harm but I didn’t use any on mine and you can’t hear any exhaust blowing noise at all. Just make sure that the slots in the two parts of the sleeve aren’t aligned with each other and if you use the right sized clamp and get them nice and tight, you shouldn’t have any issues! 👍 cheers, Phil

      Thanks you! I'm really sorry, I don't have the part number and tbh, it will be a different one depending on your model becasue the exhaust diameters vary by engine size. If you check out this site, you may be able to find it: www.nemigaparts.com/cat_spares/ Thanks, Phil

    Do You think it might be use as coupler for after market sport silencers instead of welding?
    Also, does it need ane paste o sealant underneath? I know that mechanics use some When assembling exhusts.?

    • @ReviveMyRide
      @ReviveMyRide  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, it can but double check that both pipes are exactly the same diameter. If they’re not, there are actually different sized couplers you can buy. For example 48mm one end and 52mm on the other for joining dissimilar pipe sizes. It would do any harm but as long as you have a good tight fit, you should need any jointing compound. Cheers, Phil

    Is it normal for there to be a gap between the pipes, which the sleeve covers? Any issues exhaust leak or is that literally how they come oem?

    • @ReviveMyRide
      @ReviveMyRide  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, there can be a small gap, not normally larger than 1 inch. I removed my old rusted sleeves / clamps and there was not evidence of a putty or sealing agent, so I just put the new sleeve on and tightened it up. No noise or other evidence of an exhaust leak, so all looked good to me. Hope that helps! Cheers, Phil

    One of my Touareg clamps have failed but when i removed the old one the pipe didn’t drop like yours in the video. It stays elevated with just the empty space. My problem is how am i supposed to get the new clamp on if the pipe doesn’t drop, making it easy to slide it back on??

    • @ReviveMyRide
      @ReviveMyRide  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, you’re right that you need one lower than the other to slide the new sleeve on. It will be a bit of a pain but if I was in this situation, I would look to lower the rear section of the exhaust (back box) from its hangers to give the clearance, if you are lucky, you might just be able to loosen the brackets where it bolts up to the underneath of the car. Hope that helps! Cheers, Phil

    Do these clips fully open so you dont have to pull apart the exhaust to install them?
    My scorpion clamps have rusted and need replacing

    • @ReviveMyRide
      @ReviveMyRide  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, I’ll be honest that I don’t know. I just opened them up a bit and slid the sleeve back to get the clamps on without opening them up fully. I would say give it a try and worse case you have to spend a little bit more time doing what I did. You won’t regret it, these Mikalor stainless steel clamps are the business, fit and forget! Is it not necessary to use exhaust sealant?

    • @ReviveMyRide
      @ReviveMyRide  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, in my opinion, none needed. There wasn’t any residue that I could see on the pipe from the first clamp / sleeve and that was factory fitted. After I fitted the new sleeve, no sign of exhaust leak that I could hear or smell but no harm done if you want to use some 👍 cheers, Phil

      Hi, thanks for your comment! :-) I tried to work out which cars used the same clamps from Audi parts diagrams etc but it varied quite a lot. I’m afraid the only way to be 100% sure is to measure the exhaust pipe diameter near the clamp and buy in the correct clamp ahead of time. Or you could try looking up the size here: nemigaparts.com/cat_spares/etka/audi/ hope that helps! Cheers, Phil

      @DJ-nn3uu Hi, I'm sorry, I can't remember and I sold the car, so I can't go and check but the clamp I used (link in description) was for a 59-63mm exhaust pipe, so my pipe will have been in that range. Hope that helps! Thanks, Phil
