7:03 The goal is actually to _not_ have every other card fit perfectly. If you do, the deck isn't actually being randomized at all, it gets predictably re-ordered. Riffle shuffling is an efficient way of shuffling because it has a high potential for human error- the source of randomness.

  • @Zero_Chaos

If mashing you should make an effort to hold the deck more horizontally than vertically. This removes the possibility of looking at the cards in your deck as you shuffle. If you expect your opponent might be looking at their bottom card then you should call a judge/professor

Riffle* also I don't understand why so many people cry about riffle shuffling it's one of the quickest and most effective ways to randomize your deck. It's always the players with budget decks that whine about it

@@gallowshumor1784 clearly you haven't had some ape bend and damage your cards. Weather or not someone has a budget deck or not is irrelevant. If someone doesn't want you to riffle shuffle their deck then dont :). If someone riffle shuffled my deck after I asked them not to I would be furious.

I love riffle and fero shuffling with regular playing cards, but it's absoluetly crazy to me to do with trading cards no matter their cost as the chance to mess it up is just too high. Hindu and mash is the way to go in my opinion.

Hindu is definitely safest for your cards but it doesn't randomize your deck at all.

2 Gardes, 2 Turbos, doesn’t seems that good anyway, how many riffle shuffle needs to do, thats enables the top card and bottom card get together? Probably to many to count , so how is fully randomize if the bottom and top card never are going to ve together. Is more like mixing the cards that are in the same level

Wait, i’ve been riffle shuffling on the table with my thumbs on the bottom of the cards😮 Is that ok? I tried doing it like in the vid but it feels really uncomfortable and the cards keep slipping every which way, though that might just be because i’m not used to it. As far as i can see the way i do it doesn’t bend the cards too much?

    • @CeliosNetwork

Yeah, I suggest not bridging your opponents deck because you can slip and bend a card even if you’re good at shuffling. But riffling with care is fine.

you can ask them nicely not to, but you can't prevent them. your opponent has every right to shuffle your deck in a way that sufficiently randomizes it. if you have an issue with this you shouldn't be playing in tournaments, or should use lower rarity cards

The way I like to shuffle is that I’ll pile shuffle, not really following any particular pattern in assigning piles, then mash piles together until there are two, which I’ll riffle once, and mash until my opponent feels it’s been comfortably long, and offer a cut.

I’ve always Hindu shuffled. Never had a problem even at Pokémon nats. If I have cards worth like $30-40+, I don’t want them curved or damaged.

Please delete this we dont need any more rifflers in pokemon. Its fine if you do it to your cards but most players dont care and riffle their opponents deck without asking. While its true good rifflers can minimize the risk of damaging cards the risk is still WAY higher that any other shuffling style and its not any faster or more random than mashing properly. Pokemon is the only tcg where i consistently see people recommend riffling and it really sucks for people that want to save money and sell cards after playing or dont want to buy extra copies for collecting.
Tldr if you want to learn to shuffle properly please dont waste time on riffle shuffle and if you do because it "looks cool" respect other peoples property

This video's more about product information than shuffling.
What does the condition of the cards have to do with you showing us how to shuffle?

    • @alexo5577
      @alexo5577 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

The point the video was trying to make by showing the condition of the cards was that riffle shuffles do not scratch the artwork, nor excessively bend or crease the cards while it's being done gently. Many people care about the condition of the cards, so they are naturally concerned with how shuffling techniques may affect their cards.
