  • Most of us haven't played with physical cards in a formal event in at least a year, so I figured a video on how to properly set-up (When to flip a coin, laying out prizes, drawing opening hand, etc) would be helpful

    Appreciate these how to play videos. Signed up for a prerelease in August, which will be my 1st in person event.

He's been enjoying prereleases and league and doing well but wants to play at the San Diego regional. That would be a big test for him, he's 9 so I'm a little nervous that the grind of all day higher-level pokemon could be tough. Exciting too though!

    Hey there! I just learned how to play at NAIC this year and someone said fanning out to draw was technically not allowed. Is that true or is it just risky? This came up because a player mis-drew when his Japanese sleeves stuck together and lost 2 prizes because of it.

    • @MellowMagikarp
      @MellowMagikarp  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's technically just risky. I've had local judges tell us not to do it but it's not like they can force it
      With that said, I'd also highly recommend not doing it that way 😂

    • @JoshuaHipsher
      @JoshuaHipsher ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MellowMagikarp noted! It's a little harder when you have two judges who are sitting there on stage, watching you play. lol.
      Is that kinda something you don't really call on people? Like, if they mis-deal during a local tournament is there an unspoken thing where you just let them put it on the bottom or do folks take 2 prizes at smaller events too?

    • @MellowMagikarp
      @MellowMagikarp  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JoshuaHipsher Depends on the person. With Championship Points on the line some people will call a judge on you at smaller events still, but most won't. If a judge sees they have to enforce the 2 prize penalty though, regardless of what players want
