Around 11 Chinese and Russian warships sailed near Alaska, in what is being called an "incursion" by US senators. The US has responded by deploying four destroyers in the region.
Meanwhile, a Chinese coastguard ship fired water cannons at Philippine vessels amid a supply mission. Why has China stepped up its aggression against the Philippines? How is the US-led alliance responding? Palki Sharma tells you.

How can China say that the Filipinos violated China's sovereignty when in the first place they are not the only claimants in that area? Also, the Filipinos were merely sending supplies in there. If they argue that the Philippines are bringing in construction materials on that area then what about them who already built bases there? And if Philippines aren't allowed to bring in construction materials, when what is the use of placing our own patrol basis there if we won't supply construction materials as part of maintaining the base? China is absolutely bullying the Philippines as usual.

Well that is more of a political question, considering the chief of the U.S. military is the President of the United States, if the president orders it, the military will obey no questions asked and defend the Philippines with everything they've got. All the Philippines government would have to do ask for help under the defense treaty and if the U.S. president accepts it as a valid request then you have U.S. troops fighting alongside their Filipino counterparts, no problem.

This is the same China who was asking for a joint exercises with our armed forces just 2 weeks ago. Maybe they started the joint exercises without the Armed Forces of the Philippines knowing it.
Six months ago, the Philippine President became the first national leader to visit China in 2023.And said that the friendly relations between the two countries will continue. But when he returned to the Philippines, he immediately handed over several military ports to the US military.

Adding to what had happen last Sunday about the water cannon. Yesterday the senate had a meeting regarding with this matter with the Philippine Armed Forces and Coast Guard. And with this meeting the senators were surprised and were disappointed to learned that our military are sending Filipino officers for training in China. They immediately wanted an investigation regarding the matter.

I think the US is not flexing its power over the Asian region in the contested waters yet because they are allowing diplomatic resolution to unfold first until the right time. Timing is the key here. China can continue being such b but I am very sure it is unwilling to trigger as well. Besides, the Philippines seems like not willing to risk anything yet just to prove the power of that treaty. CN's China Coast Guard can just continue to fire water cannon to disrupt the resupply mission. PH doesn't have water cannon on board that's why they can't fire back unless they procure a similar ship equipped with water cannon. If the people who are stationed at the shipwreck at Second Thomas Shoal couldn't get food for a long period of time, they'll just die naturally. If PH dares to retaliate by firing a single ammunition, then it's game over. PH's boat (small vessel) or ship (large vessel) or whatever you may call it will be meeting Titanic under the sea. Those artificial islands in the Spratly Islands are already militarized and armed with dozens of CN's latest hypersonic HGV missiles (DF-17) and they're ready to fly at any aircraft carriers or ship or boat.

When previous dam was builded on up stream of Meigone river, Thailand, Vietnam and Combodia were very worry that China will keep all the water.
And it turns out other way around, the dam up stream actually helps to regulate the river, so the countries down stream got extra insurance during raining season, that China will hold at least some water to prevent flooding.

The Philippines is also partly to be blamed. We let our country to become a pushover state; always relying on stronger countries for help/aid. Case in point - the PCG ships. We keep on acquiring vessels that are no match to CCG's then corruption and lack of foresight kept us in that pathetic state. Our leaders use diplomatic protest (however futile) as a shield to somehow appease and to look like their doing something, for the public to see. It now appears that diplomatic protests are done just to cushion our pride.

The Paracel (Xisha) Islanda number more than 7 by themselves while the communist Chinese militarily occupy more than that with the Spratly (Nansha) Islands. Philippines only occupies Thitu island. Not sure where you created 6. As for Vietnam, compared to China, most of the islands are in the direct vicinity of Vietnam's coast, unlike China which even Hainan island is hundreds of miles from the nearest islands in the South China Sea. In fact China has virtually cut off Vietnam from the Ocean as they are only allowed a mere sliver of less than 6 nautical miles from their coast. Philippines exclusive economic zone and even Ocean access is completley cut off by China's illegal claims.
