My main issue with game is simple: I have nothing to do. I have enough of growing again, again and again, flying around and seeing always the same empty map, i can't collect skin because you can have only one per account (on single dragon). Most ppl who plays with me stopped and we just talking via discord because is no sense play game that we have to sit, go eat, sit and repeat. It's not like i hate this game or something but as long as it's in development we should have something more to do. I hope devs can get us content that will be absorbing or addictive

Yo pancake i got over 1000 hours in this game and i really think it will make the game so much better. On SS when you hit something or over all on any dragon you need a hit marker like in sea of thieves kind of thing search sea of thieves hit marker and you will see also a little pop sound i know there is a sound in the game but that's over all of you shooting and hitting stuff, we need separate one that only works on dragons some times its hard to know if you did any damage so that would help. Also some improvements in hatchlings having fun in some way even if you would add ground tunnels that only hatchlings can go in that be so sick.if we could get this in 1.0.1 that be so cool i hope you show this to super Rino

I like working together with other players to help upstat the dragons. Im grateful to the game for being a place that i met new friends who ive now known for years.

DLC is not a problem, it’s only a problem when almost everything is a dlc or kickstarter exclusive. There are only 3 playable dragons flame stalker, shadow scale, and inferno ravager. The other 3 such as Blitz, Acid spitter, and bio are stuck behind a paywall. Yes, you can be hatched. But you can’t spawn in and experience it as a full. You die you die and have to wait to be nested again. Kinda frustrating. If there were less paywall things, it would be much more fair to the community who has supported them since the beginning.

I scarcely, if ever, comment on videos, especially about DoD recently as I just haven't been engaged with the open/public access as often due to recent irl situations, but I feel like the environment is appropriate for me to make a little ol' essay.
I love the dragons. the animations and model work is on point and very impressive, especially considering the niche existence of the game that does not leave much artistically for DoD to build a definitively appealing identity around. A lot of people give the designs flak for being basic or disproportionate, plastic or overly spikey, but one has to remember that there was no artistic game presence for dragons - only movie, and movie presence does not mesh well in games. From the lack of foundation, DoD has built something great.
Unfortunately, DoD also lacks critically in many areas that I feel contribute to it being niche even within the niche that is Creature Survival (DoDs player numbers currently speak volumes that there is issues here to be critical of, but NOT abusive with). I have been with this game since 2019, through every update and almost every test, so I feel I have credit to speak about what I've seen so far. *This is going to be a lot longer because I feel like I generally like analyzing areas of improvement/reasoning why a game turned out a particular way, and not because I hate the game. I just feel like I trend more critical when discussing a game.*
*Punishing:* By all accounts, The Isle is considered the most punishing Creature Survival game due to the growth times(10 hour growth times). However, if DoD sticks to the growth speeds that it has planned now, DoD will surpass the Isle in terms of inhospitality to ones time.
Not only will players have to contend with over 4 hour growth times for above average dragon sizes, they will also have to contend with the investment that is genetics, elder, and pearls. Losing a dragon will be devastating. It can take an entire afternoon to grow a dragon (most 9-5 individuals will only have a handful of hours before they need to sleep for work), and that is if and only if you do not get killed early in life, as current balancing enables a dragon that took several hours to grow, to be ambushed and killed in less than ten seconds (the record I have recorded was watching someone lose an entire subadult IR in 3 seconds, completely unable to react or feasibly see coming. Though this has a lot of complaints, so maybe SS will get a minor nerf, but due to its nature as a fast glass cannon, it won't be hard)
*Toxic:* I have asked around, on and off game, of PvP DOD and PvE DOD, and a vast majority agreement is that Day of dragons PvP is considered one of the most toxic environments out of all creature survival games.
I mostly believe this is due to the clan mechanics encouraging an "us vrs them" mentality, where clans will kill anyone that is not them because adults are a threat to their own adults. This ends up in excessive sport killing of hatchlings and suppressing smaller clans, leading to most if not all official and some community PvP servers to be labeled "megaclan servers," as they are home to unregulated, massive clan(s) that leave little to no room for smaller clans as wipes are common.
I feel like PvP balancing is a whole can of worms on its own, but I don't think adult-on-adult combat mechanics are directly related to the toxicity, and so I won't cover it here.
*Lack of Depth:* DoD has a LOT of mechanics planned, and they are fascinating, but I feel as if they have minimal mechanical depth. DoD focuses each update around a new dragon(s) and the mechanics to accent that particular dragon and does not feel like they have an intent to step back and make a core update around mechanical content. This makes the game feel like its content only goes as far as the dragons it holds, even with planned mechanics.
Pearls will (as known) only have cosmetic or minor stat boosts, stats are simply numerical that naturally increase with generations, and AI is planned to be relatively straightforward. Each dragon has different abilities and can do different things, but I feel like DoD is too focused on width and not depth. This is accented by the plan for dragons - we only get mechanics immediately as relevant to the dragon. We have not gotten depth in the form of quests, the world does not feel enriched - as someone in the video said, we have no incentive to explore. And it is important to note that incentive is very different from requirements. If I have to visit 20 different locations across the map(s) to become ancient, that is not what I would consider incentive, as you feel you *need* to explore, and not that you *want* to.
There is also the also-mentioned topic that babies have nothing to do. This is a compounding issue of players sport killing, an us-vrs-them clan mentality, and growth time causing players to feel a combination of "I can't explore because I'll probably die if I get seen moving around" and "I've been a baby for an hour and a half and I have seen everything there is to see for a baby." There is an endless amount of videos that analyze the isles "afk because adults are the only viable existence" habits and DoD shares much overlap with those issues.
Again, this is longer than a CVS receipt because I have been with this game through every peak and low since its early Kickstarter. You can agree with me or not, as at the end of the day, this is my analysis of DoDs current situation - and I apologize for making you read an essay, so if you got this far, here's an honorary star 🌟 - and focusing on things to work on rather than using the good to overlook the bad is something I feel more comfortable doing. I'll leave the highlights of good things the game has done to you guys.
Thanks for listening to me yap for however long it took you to read it.

Wings of fire mentioned! And also, i do hope they indeed add more bigger AI, it would be amazing to see herds of interesting herbivores of all sizes roaming around certain places like redwoods, small woods and plains, it would be amazing if like dragons could ambush the smaller ones by grabbing their neck or another limb in a quick time event and shove it onto the ground before leaving the final blow on the creature, It probably would take A LOT of time to do but its such a neat concept, maybe different dragons have different styles of hunting down prey! Its interesting but i'm pretty sure if that would be ever added, its gonna take the same amount of time as the biolum and IR, but its fair because rigging those animals and dragons would take awhile rightfully so, but we know that the lead dev doesnt always keep his promises unfortunately. That is just my thought of hunting above for AI because hunting larger prey could be a challenge but with a great reward for your hungry dragon. ^^

As someone who has played this game since the beginning - and I do mean that, I watched the release countdown and bought it right away - I've had a lot of time to see the good and the bad. So, here's my rant! Opinionated, up for debate, and open to commentary.
Since day one, I found a loving community within the servers. Complete strangers led me and others to portals, food, communities at the oasis, and annihilated anyone that tried to threaten the peace with needless attacking. But I watched people slowly leave as they realized things about the game's models, failed promises, etc. Even though I supported them with what money I had at such a young age, I received absolutely nothing in return. Not even a little cosmetic trinket, which is something I had hoped for dearly being such an avid dragon fan since childhood.
Today, I see a dev team that's struggling to find a balance of what people want, which seems to predominantly be new dragon species, and the actual playability of their game. Right now they seem to be dealing with it as if it's a cosmetic, roleplay-focused game, but having to eat nothing but the scarce bugs (seriously, a dragon game where the only food is bugs and baby dragons). The maps keep getting bigger and bigger, which would be fantastic if flight had more work, such as taking less stamina and being polished up a bit in it's movement, but this completely disregards how difficult it is to get around as a hatchling. Your best bet to grow up is to stay near a spawn, hide yourself as best as you can, and find something else to do while you wait. Either that, or have friends with the game, which is not something everyone has access to whenever they play.
It's still in early development, and there's nothing wrong with allowing the community to play around with what's there, but I feel as though they're starting to promote it as a game, which is expected to be playable and fun at the least, and it is not at that point yet. How could they improve this, in it's early state though? I'd say that having randomly spawning carcasses would do some good - better than insects - with enough food value to sustain a small group. Nobody wants to play a dragon game where your main objective isn't to die from starvation or boredom. As for the issue with the maps only being for older dragons, I'm hoping that the next map will solve this issue. A complicated landscape with places to hide and explore, full of interesting details that make for plenty of landmarks so that there isn't one hotspot (a common issue with survival games, just look at The Isle [south plains] and even Creatures of Sonaria [oasis]). Something as simple as a climbing mechanic exclusive to hatchlings, which has a short stamina bar for getting over ledges that cant be jumped, would prove both helpful and immersive.
Developing a game is not easy, by any means, and I think the thing the developers of Day of Dragons should work on is being honest with the community, even if it's something they don't want to admit to (later than ideal release dates, struggles with implementing certain things, etc.). If I had any way to get through to the devs and offer some of these bits of advice, I would, but I feel a little guilty at the same time. Criticism from hundreds of strangers is a lot of pressure, especially when you're working so hard already.
In the end, seems like you're right, Pancake! We're all kind of let down, but still hopeful, and we've got lots of dragon lovers around us to geek out while we wait.

I love this game but I wish there is more Ai of varying difficulty to hunt down instead of just eating bugs all the time I mean you’re a dragon but right now you have the same diet as a lizard… also I think adding more challenging pray would flesh out the world more and might help with bored players that have resorting to hatching-killing because of the lack of challenges on PvE servers for older dragons Also a little personal wish I’m a slow typer due to dyslexia,it would be nice to have a talk to text feature because sometimes I just don’t want to use voice chat due to wanting to stay completely anonymous online and not wanting to have people hearing my real voice. And they threatened to ban me when I was talking in a different discord about them!!! I was curiously asking why our clan leader would recommend that clan to us and that clan stalked me in a different discord and called me out for what??? Asking a question in the previous clan they are not in!!!?? The owner of that server wanted ppl to call him master and king. He was cursing me out and calling me names when all I said in that server was to stop saying racist stuff to the guy!!! This was one terrible incident and there’s so many more I come across!! There is a lot of good in the game. The models, the animations, the different types of dragons. But there is also a lot of bad. Being a baby dragon fresh spawn is not impossible to survive, but is still heavily geared toward being part of a Clan. So it's really hard to play 'solo'. Speaking of that, I think the worst part of the game is the breeding. If you play on a PvP server, unless you're part of a Clan that has had a chance to cement their position. Your stats are gonna be trash and while skill plays a very important part in combat, unfortunately, all it takes is just one lucky bite from a well bred dragon for it to all be over. So ultimately, I wish it was more of a survival game, not a breeding game.
I don't hate DoD. I see a lot of potential. But if someone were to ask me if it's worth it, I think they should just watch it. Not purchase it until the game is in full release. I mean full release. Not this breadcrumb stuff they have given us.

    Slow and minimal content updates.
    Acceptable models.
    Half decent animations.
    Empty map.
Used to play The Isle, but Evrima suffers the same as DoD. It's lackluster updates take forever to update anything.
Looking forward to the potential competitor games Wings of dawn and Draconia. I see more growth and development come out of these up and comers than anything put out from Day of Dragons to date.
I see more content fly into Path of Titans from their modding community, frequent updates, TLC passes of their dinosaurs, and new maps on a monthly basis than all the rest combined.
Play PoT, and join a fantasy server with all the dragons and fantasy creatures. Far better experience.
Until I see more dragons, more AI, and the map drastically overhauled, DoD is set firmly in the "Of little Interest" section of my library.

Wish I had more time to think on my answer, I had such a big brain fart when it came time for my response. I realise I forgot to say much about what I love about DOD, and trust me I could spend hours describing what I love about the game. But I also remembered something else I would like to be improved in PVP other than just adding a hitmarker or kill marker.
And that's more attacks, I know now the FS and ASD I believe are getting tail attacks but it would be such a nice change of pace if all the dragons had multiple attacks like claw attacks, grabbing, body slamming ECT. Just to change the ever slow pace of aerial circle fights to something a lot more realistic.
I would freakin love to be able to body slam a smaller dragon outta the air, or to slash at enemies, or for flightless dragons to be able to grab hold of a dragon even as it takes off, no more running away :)
Along with that, dodges and tricks would also be very nice paired with the multiple attack feature.

Favorite thing about the game is just the general feel of it. I don't think it has hit The Isle levels in that regard but it is there. You do feel immersed when you are doing things which is what a survival game needs.
Biggest detractor is probably the clan system. It keeps me away from PVP most of the time which isn't good. It's a cool idea in theory but there's no greater purpose to it yet that groups can't fill and the community has ruined by making discord mandatory 99% of the time. You can't just hop in and interact with it in game which for people like me who don't like that , we're going solo every time.
I think the main thing is that there is no way to broadcast rules to clan members in game. If they had an in-game bulletin with notifications for the clan members then that would probably fix this and give it more purpose.

For the time being, I'm afraid not-Jao has stated in the past that he wanted to keep it exclusively on PC for simplicity (there would be even more slowdown trying to develop the game for various platforms simultaneously). However, I'm aware there are semi-regular expressions of interest among players/fans for console ports, and Jao isn't dead set against consoles as much as he's just trying to keep the development pipeline as straight as possible, so I recommend following the game's development and trying to connect with others who'd also like console support; it might end up being _WAY_ down the road given the already glacial pace of development, but there's a chance it can happen.

pro: it's fun to fly around the dragons are great to play few fluid now i have the pc the game graphicly looks great Con: miss the verity of skins, you grow nest and thats it Biggest Con to me Personally : getting very very tired of people complaining that they feel 'scammed' cuz bios were exclusive gold was was exclusive that was blah exclusive rah rah rah I don't feel unique anymore. kind'a just want to like slap the person like you choose to drop 200-500$ into the game, the developer thanks you with a cosmetic but your helping build the game for everyone else as well. But I payed for Bio - and it allows everyone else to play it as well by choosing to nest people or don't. You Choose to do donate to the game, you choose to nest or not, you choose to wear the pearl or not.

Was that the game where the creators are hella toxic and Complain and cry about everything like a toddler? Because I found an good alternative game it seems, kinda really similar to that one I even had to check if it weren't the same creators, also on steam

    What a nice video!! 🫶
I personally have the patience to wait for all the great stuff there is to come in this game, I really like it already ‘cause it kinda satisfies my dream of being/having a dragon😂
    It’s great that I found it^^
