I think cause of the maps size the devs could add two other biomes, I mainly want a snowy tundra and savannah grassland, just to spice it up and encourage more exploration
I always thought they could put the beach in the area of four ponds and lava by the ravine snow from the mountain all the way back to misty and sand from the mountain all the way back into the pride rock area

Interesting to find out the Wyvern (Inferno Ravager) is getting a fireball attack instead of the flamethrower. It makes sense since their Piercing (Bite attacks) armor is very low. It also makes sense from an evolutionary standpoint that they would want to stay at range as much as possible to weaken their adversary before they close in to finish it off and start eating.
Edit: I hope they give the Ice Wyvern an ability to weaken the damage of fire attacks against them, maybe by making a blizzard surround themselves. It would be nice if that blizzard blows out the Flame-Cloak of the Inferno Ravager, but if used in the Ravager's habitat (Desert) or other very hot environs, it is too weak to blow out the cloak because the climate is too hot.
A frost cloak was confirmed a long while back. Its exact benefit at the time was simply increased fire resistance, though obviously more could be added.

I did not know that. I have not seen any video from developers or content creators that have mentioned anything other than "Yes. We will have an Ice Wyvern."
@@SakuragiSayo This was well over a year ago--maybe two or three. I couldn't begin to say how the information was (not) distributed, and I haven't heard of it since given that the frostfel (the frost/ice wyvern) is still _way_ down the dev road.
But my understanding is that the fire and frost varieties of every species will always be matched.

thought you had been given a little sneaky peaky at these new mechanics but this video was just a re read of the patch notes. its a nice update on whats going on though. glad to see some decent progress on everything finally coming together.
I actually do have access to some of it... but that episode is coming in the next couple of days.
something I would love them to fix is how flamebreath looks while in flight, would love a constant stream of flame I can see either playing as or against an fs or ravager that didn't look pixelated and laggy while in motion
I never noticed the flame breath issue your talking about.
i agree with this- some of the visual effects could use updating. the current fire is very 2D and VERY slow. especially in air where everyone is zoomin around

I never understood the dx12 issue, it's a simple 2 minute download. But I'm glad to hear things are moving with the BeAwesome team.

"It's a simple 2 minute download" is hardly an adequate solution for the people who were already up-to-date. It was an incompatibility with a plug-in for shadows, as I recall.
Im so excited for 1.0.1 to come out! The blitz striker sounds amazing with the thunder storm boosts. The updates to the map sounds intriguing, and being able to regurgitate food for babies is going to be very useful! Having new AI like the swamp snapper will be a big change but hopefully for the better for a more invasive gameplay experience! Soooo excited 😁

Okay guess what i only need 100 more dollars to afford my laptop that im planning to get at 1097$ Australian dollars this is the laptop i plan to buy ( Lenovo 15.6” LOQ Gaming laptop Ryzen 7 16/512GB RTX3050 ) im soexited and even if i can run this game on high ill be happy with low to medium settings :)
Mate, I’m sorry but I have nearly the exact same specs as you and an rtx 3050 and cannot run the game on 60fps above medium/low graphics even with the recent performance updates. Those specs are very reliable but if you are looking for something that can run more modern games then I would recommend an RTX 3060 instead for a lot more power and not too much extra cost.

This for 1200 and im happy to save for this if that means I can play games like this okay so this is my option ( Acer Nitro V 16" Gaming Laptop Ryzen 5 16GB/1TB RTX4050 ) or an i5 Intel prosseser me personally I prefer rysen but I'll take what I can get but I'll save 200 more just so I can run it, I'm happy you told me

Will thunderstorms occur across the entire map all at once or will they be smaller in specific area's? I feel like in smaller area's would be cool especially in pvp so we can play more strategically and avoid those areas if we need too

Yesss, so exciting! People sometimes just have to be patient and things will end up falling into place for this game, people are too quick to judge. Love that they added element effects from the environment, can't wait to see more updates.

Any word on whether they fixed the thornbacks? I think that's going to be a big difference maker in getting people back into the game. Also what was the last eldering method? Did they ever figure it out?
You had to elder once in order to achieve it but it remains a mystery.... What was wrong with the thorn back?

@@CallmePancakegaming They were changing something with how the mounds worked. Less of a fix and more of an adjustment I guess, assuming they hadn't broken it while doing so.

Is this game worth trying out? Every review on youtube and steam is negative and 20 dollars + several DLC's just to unlock the base game doesn't sound very appealing... Or am I looking too into that?
It is worth trying out. tho not alot of players. I would wait till the blitz comes out tho. more players.

A more indepth breakdown of things you may or may not want to deal with when getting into the game:
The game has been in development for about 5 years, development progress made notable through frequent stalls, overall slow progress, and questionable management of donated funds. It’s being worked on, but the updates we are hearing news about now are the same “in progress” updates that have been mentioned many times over the past year or two.
There are not that many dragons in the game yet. As of this comment, there are 3 free playables, 1 DLC drake, and 1 Kickstarter Exclusive cosmetic dragon. The next upcoming dragon is a DLC dragon, but after that, there will be focus on development for dragons you can unlock via quests for the remainder of the 1.0.0 update, including NPCs and a Questing system. There is another DLC dragon planned after that in a later update. There are about 12 dragons confirmed for development, iirc, 3 of which are confirmed DLC and 2 of them are Supporter Exclusives. Keep in mind, you do not need to own the DLC to obtain the DLC dragons; other players can nest you in as them. That’s about 7 dragons you aren’t directly paying for if you decide not to purchase the DLC, 5 of which will be gained through gameplay (…eventually).
As of this comment, there is not much to do in the game regarding gameplay loop. The current state of the game depends on an active playerbase to derive a real experience from due to the lack of developed solo content. There is a large, wondrously designed map that lays mostly empty and dormant for 1. Not being finished and 2. Not having much else outside of food, water, and shelter spaces to sustain solo gameplay. This map will be updated as the patches continue through 1.0.0, and the addition of AI as the video mentions will hopefully give some more sustenance to the bottomline of the game.
Note: Day of Dragons is an Online Multiplayer divided essentially into PvP or PvE, but you can see what I’m talking about when PvP gameplay is only supported on clan conflict and PvE servers have little else to do but grow and nest in one spot.
Once again, the current gameplay loop depends on an *active playerbase* to derive a real experience from. Frequent disappointments from the dev team regarding underwhelming releases, back-to-back delays, lack of communication, and a very abrasive friction with how the lead dev feels about players voicing discontent with the state of the game/development has driven hundreds of players off of servers, if not away from the game entirely. What remains currently are a few niche roleplay communities and the most active PvP clans while the community settles in for another several month delay for a promise that was expected to be delivered upon first launch of 1.0… after a delay back in late 2023.
An especially huge thing to note - *The game is entirely unplayable* for a good number of people with mid-end technology. The game runs on experimental UE5 technology that was only ever tested and marketed on top of the line computer gaming hardware, leaving an unpleasant surprise for people who were able to run Day of Dragons Legacy cleanly - not being able to run Day of Dragons 1.0 at all. Even for higher-end systems, leaving the game on for the long hours you may spend growing can damage it, which is honestly pretty scary. They have since reverted a lot of these technologies back to what they were using in UE4, but until the patch 1.0.1 is dropped, many players are stuck in the waiting room again until the version is ready for end users.
tl;dr: I couldn’t recommend this game as it is now. I think $20 and $20 *alone* will get you a good few hundred hours of good time with some friends , and only really if you have nothing better to spend time on with said friends. Come back in a year and see if anything good has happened.
Funny you ask that. It's exactly what my next video is about. But I would say. The dlc is unlockable by being nested in. Not hard to do at all. Unless you plan on nesting for stats or joining a clan for pvp battles their really isn't much to do right now. The developers goes for the future however are that they will have missions to do. So if you want to get your feet wet go for it or wait and see what happens

yep... you wait until version 1.01 when they remove dx12 and you will be fine.. unfortunately Im sure their is a way but I dont know... or... you upgrade your video card.

idk, i'm disappointed with that game. i've played DoD since it was on it's alpha stage and all i know is that devs prefer making 100$ skins and emotes instead of the actual game.
that's okay to make DLCs for your game, but... really? there's only 3 playable FREE dragons at this moment, and it's awful
