I grew up in Sammamish. It’s really nice but when I lived there in the 1990’s a 2,500 sq ft house was $250,000. Now it’s $2,000,000. It’s just way too unaffordable for 99% of the population.

The place has gronwn a lot!! It was way better back in the 80's & 90's They bought land and fucked it up by building houses on top of each other, half the houses are built on old dirt bike 4X4 trails & party spots we had in highschool. It's kinda sad they destroyed the place.

Everything you said is spot on. I would add that with all those homes and limited access points from that plateau, traffic and the commute can be annoying. And since it’s a somewhat newly incorporated city, it feels more like a bedroom community with basic services without a ’downtown’ and definitely lacks a variety of restaurants or shopping. We lived next door in Redmond for 25 years and know it well.

It's crazy to see how much Sammamish and Issaquah have exploded since the 90's. My grandma's family founded Issaquah in the 1860's and she always comments on how much it has changed, even since she was raising kids (back then, Issaquah was kind of a small farming town, and she was literally related to half the residents). She and my grandpa were priced out back in 1994. The schools there are great though!

The Best small city at the price of destroying the very nature you yearn for. You all love the Evergreen trees, but the first thing you do is cut them down because your afraid they will fall on you or your house. And of course you can't have cougars and bears walking the Neiborhood's so they have to be killed. In the end you'll wind up just another concrete city. So why not give the nature a break and just move to Seattle.
