You are young and you are achieving things much more so than many, many Americans do as college students or working part time while going to school. We never do as much as we wish we did.

As a Canadian, one of my earliest summer intern jobs was "Sewage Plant Technician".
At 18-19 I think? It was also part of my environmental sciences degree.
It's the kind of job that is amazing as a student, because you get to quickly learn many of the ins-and-outs without investing your life in a (haha) crappy job.
And this made my classes so much easier, having working knowledge of industrial equipment, chemical processes and lab work, safety at work procedures (along with knowledge of how some workers don't follow them and get maimed in the process...).
I'd definitely recommend getting to work as soon as possible, in many jobs, because you can pick up a lot from here-and-there.

I regret about your only one regret, when you had stopped music, but you could continue that in anytime... others are common for all people. Good luck, Salta!

    Its actuay a myth
My parents always told that in US people are independent as soon as they are 18 ant we need to look up to them
That's not true at all many people have student loans after they graduating in us
And they cant afford working renting living and paying off loans at the same time
Many people living with their parents in us like untill 26 27
Just like my cousin lived with his parents and worked untill like 25
And I always wondered why are you not living by your self and ge sad that he is to busy with work and he need to help his parents because his older brother is married
Then he moved to another city to work
Many people living with parents in their 30
So it's not the case anymore

Hi from Australia. Enjoyed your discussion. Your confidence has really grown. Well done. Some deep reflections. We can all benefit from self reflection. Especially right now. 🤗

Don’t feel bad about not working while in college. I struggled with juggling work, school, and a girlfriend. I think it was better in my first two years of college when I didn’t have a girlfriend and was able to hang around and learn in a social setting with my classmates.
Also, stereotyping is a tool that we use for survival. For example, tigers can kill you, so it’s best to avoid them. Experience and wisdom allow you to take someone out of that box and see them for what they are.

Thank you for sharing. Some of my regrets are similar to yours so I can relate to what you are saying. I often have flashbacks of the past and wish I would have changed so much.
I do want to focus on the positive though. You right now are doing what you want to do and that is excellent. You graduated from the University of Chicago which is one the best school in the world. At 31 you are still very young, intelligent, multilingual, and can dance and sing. Your TH-cam page is rapidly expanding as well and you literally opening up almost singlehandedly Almaty to the world. You are on the right track now so keep doing what you are doing now and know that there are many throughout the world that support you in your goals.

Do you know Assem Muze (Assem Abdykassymova although I don't know her married name) ?
She is a singer from Almaty. I know her and her former co-singer Polina Tyrina.
Regrets are something to remember, but not to be obsessed about - but you seem to understand that.
Great videos about life in KZ.

I totally agree with you. I think the one thing I really miss out on was studying abroad for a semester or full year. That's my only regret. I would have gone to study in China, Korea, Turkey, or other countries. I just regret I didn't take my college life all the way. I did socialize somewhat in college and join clubs but all the clubs were always really late, so I ended not going most of the time.
What I don't regret is studying out of town because if by the time I come back to my town, I would have been in lots of debt like my colleagues who came to study in my town. I live in the US, so college is really expensive.
I love this video very much and I myself will take your advices as well :). My one wish for you is that one day your channel will be really big and you will make lots of people come visit Kazakhstan! Kazakhstan is definitely on my list too. :) Also it would be cool to have a kazakh friend too lol

Salta your past experiences with the American culture mixed with your Kaz world has created the person you are today bringing the best of both wolds in your expressions and your personality. I love who you are in your heart and no worries about missing out on life in the past since you had learned from your mistakes and improved your self awareness. I think in general Kaz people need to learn to be open minded, that will be a step of improvement as a society, you are already there! you might be young but you think and act like an old soul. Loved your video!
