    in malay tradition, whistling is considered rude especially in the house. so in order to discipline our children, the old folk made a story that a venomous snake would enter into the house if we whistle in the house. so now it became more like superstitous slightly .

    What about piling up stones into the corners... or pouring out the bad spirit of the tea first, or tying fabric to a tree for good luck conceiving - those were big when I lived in Kazakhstan.

    Black cat crossing is also a superstition here in USA. Very interesting video and I love the added acting footage 😎

    In Europe they also say that black cats bring bad luck. Anyway, I have a black cat at home. He is a bit goofy but sweet and cuddly and my absolute darling. Now I'm wondering how many people in the neighbourhood he's brought bad luck to, because, as I said, he's a bit goofy 🙈...
    Lots of love from Switzerland 🤗🇨🇭

    I Salta, I am from India and we have the same spitting ritual. Anytime I was about to leave my house, there were spits on me to ward off any future evil eye.

    We have the cat one, the evil eye (not sure about jewelry, here they put a red thread to the child's wrist) in Romania too. But they are not that widespread, especially among young people.
    I'm sure there are a lot here too, but my family doesn't mind them and I don't come across them often.
    It's a bit sad about the boy, girl thing. I guess many people from various country do that (mine too, but not everyone, and it's not a tradition) , even if it's not a specific tradition with the name or something else. In general, people treat girls differently while growing up. And wish for boys. At the end of the day, you can't have boys without girls, and they're all human beings. Or there are other who babysit their daughters until they are old, and neglect the boys, because they are boys and they can make it on their own. None of them will benefit from this deal.

    I am Vietnamese and we don't allow to whistle in any house because it would bring venomous snakes into the house and that considers bad luck and deadly.

    Evil eye is true. In my country ( Bangladesh ) it is same here as you described. For children they are put or keep in houses before or same time as sunset. No going out for them. This was a cultural norms for a long time.

    Spitting 3 times to your left arm, evil eye and not whistling, are Muslim practices, since Kazakhstan is a Muslim country, even post-Soviet union, still have a strong Islam influence!

  • @TehAbdullah
    @TehAbdullah 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    However, there are evil spirts these are real and evil eye is simply just when a companion evil spirit companioning someone causes trouble the person who was being eyed it's not a superstition however their method of fighting this is not the Islamic method all you have to do is ask Allaah for protection
