It really amazes me how the kids in the western places/countries tend to look twice their age and how they mature so fast! It's always a fun and scary experience to get a haircut in a different country when you don't know the language. I've done it in Egypt and Bosnia. The results were excellent in both countries (and much cheaper than US or Europe).
Hi Jeff. Just a minor correction - Bosnia is in Europe! I am from Ireland and I got a haircut in Novi Sad, Serbia when I was travelling through the Balkans. You're right, it was a fun and scary experience. The haircut turned out perfect and was extremely cheap. I tipped the lady barber about 3x the price of the haircut and that was still less money than I would pay for a haircut at home. She was so amazed and grateful, it meant a lot to her.

And it's gonna be long, sorry At 2:12 Luke was trying to explain that he needs shave (бритье in Russian), but the boy kept saying "не, бритье я не могу, только волосы", which means "I can't do shaving, only hair". Before they've also had a small exchange like the girl was saying him to do it and wash the hair before starting and he hesitated for a while and asked "can't you do it?". It just sounded like he didn't want to deal with it. And then later she ended up doing it instead. At 2:23 she asked him something like "will you show a picture, what kind of cut?" mixing Russian and Kyrgyz as we often do here. And then Luke showed "scissors" and she said "а, только неме, кайчы менен" again mixing in the Russian word только, which means "a, only eh, with scissors". And then she asked the boy to show the shaving machine to be sure. She said "машинканы көрсөтсөң". At around 6:18 there was some very loud background exchange about dying someone's hair. She wanted to do the brown color and the hair stylists said that it would be cheaper for her to bring the hair dye herself. Well, throughout the video there some small talks here and there, but i couldn't hear all of them. If I were to translate those, it would probably be out of context. Oh, at around 15:19 the boy asked where is Luke from and when Luke said Australia the boy said I'm from Batken, which is one of the 7 main regions in Kyrgystan like Osh and Issyk-Kul. It's in the South, near the Osh region. It's very common for people to ask where you come from in Kyrgyzstan and we answer with the name of one of 7 regions and then name a specific region of that region. I can't really find English words for all of these, sorry 😂 like I for example can say, that I'm from Osh because I was born there, I grew up there, but my parents are from Jalal-Abad region, Aksy region specifically. So yeah, like that. Yes, at around 20:30 is the moment that made me think what I said in my comment. She said "э жактыбы деп сурап көргүлөчү ай" and then "да, что не устраивает", which means "hey, someone ask him if he likes it" and "yeah, like is something wrong". She didn't understand that Luke was just sharing his thoughts, he didn't mean that something's wrong. I guess they also panicked a little bit when the shop owner left, but i may have misheard as well. I also don't know whether she was talking about Luke, but she said "может в Швейцарию позовет" at around 23:45, which means "maybe he will take you to Switzerland"... Aa I really don't know 😂 Ah, Elmira (the girl who cut Luke's hair) is really funny 😂. When Luke asked her about the price, she couldn't answer and asked "300 (триста in Russian) канча болот эй?", which means "how do you say 300" but she adds all these "i" and "ay" sounds in the end of sentences which make her speech like informal. And then they accidentally asked him for 30 hundreds instead . Elmira even asked if she said it right. And another girl in the back said something like "are you sure you didn't say 3000" 😂 And when Luke left there was a lot of noise about extra 700 soms, but I couldn't grasp what they said. Though I can guess that at least one person said that Luke liked Elmira and that's why he gave her extra money 😂 cause that's just how they usually are in hair salons. I covered everything that made me think it was funny so I hope it helps)

As kyrgyz i am used to this kind of service like washing the hair and generally 5 star service at barber shops,But I was really surprised that such services are not available in most common barber shops in US and some european countries that I visited.

When I was in the army I was in Afghanistan 2013-14 and the barbers on the FOB I was deployed to were all from there and those girls were so nice and kind and beautiful I tipped the girl who always cut my hair 50 bucks at Christmas time and she couldn’t believe it great video buddy

You're in the Philippines right now. I dare you go into a local salon not a local barbershop where the cutter's are gays. I'm sure the viewers are gonna get a kick out of that vlog. Gays in our country are proud and loud and they're usually in the salons, not women.
I have noticed that almost all Countries in the world have beautiful girls except India. God did not do justice with us Indians and created us mostly unattractive :( Indians in India have no idea how much beauty there is even in their neighboring countries

At 2:12 Luke was trying to explain that he needs shave (бритье in Russian), but the boy kept saying "не, бритье я не могу, только волосы", which means "I can't do shaving, only hair". Before they've also had a small exchange like the girl was saying him to do it and wash the hair before starting and he hesitated for a while and asked "can't you do it?". It just sounded like he didn't want to deal with it. And then later she ended up doing it instead.
At 2:23 she asked him something like "will you show a picture, what kind of cut?" mixing Russian and Kyrgyz as we often do here. And then Luke showed "scissors" and she said "а, только неме, кайчы менен" again mixing in the Russian word только, which means "a, only eh, with scissors". And then she asked the boy to show the shaving machine to be sure. She said "машинканы көрсөтсөң".
At around 6:18 there was some very loud background exchange about dying someone's hair. She wanted to do the brown color and the hair stylists said that it would be cheaper for her to bring the hair dye herself. Well, throughout the video there some small talks here and there, but i couldn't hear all of them. If I were to translate those, it would probably be out of context.
Oh, at around 15:19 the boy asked where is Luke from and when Luke said Australia the boy said I'm from Batken, which is one of the 7 main regions in Kyrgystan like Osh and Issyk-Kul. It's in the South, near the Osh region. It's very common for people to ask where you come from in Kyrgyzstan and we answer with the name of one of 7 regions and then name a specific region of that region. I can't really find English words for all of these, sorry 😂 like I for example can say, that I'm from Osh because I was born there, I grew up there, but my parents are from Jalal-Abad region, Aksy region specifically. So yeah, like that.
Yes, at around 20:30 is the moment that made me think what I said in my comment. She said "э жактыбы деп сурап көргүлөчү ай" and then "да, что не устраивает", which means "hey, someone ask him if he likes it" and "yeah, like is something wrong". She didn't understand that Luke was just sharing his thoughts, he didn't mean that something's wrong.
I guess they also panicked a little bit when the shop owner left, but i may have misheard as well. I also don't know whether she was talking about Luke, but she said "может в Швейцарию позовет" at around 23:45, which means "maybe he will take you to Switzerland"... Aa I really don't know 😂
Ah, Elmira (the girl who cut Luke's hair) is really funny 😂. When Luke asked her about the price, she couldn't answer and asked "300 (триста in Russian) канча болот эй?", which means "how do you say 300" but she adds all these "i" and "ay" sounds in the end of sentences which make her speech like informal. And then they accidentally asked him for 30 hundreds instead . Elmira even asked if she said it right. And another girl in the back said something like "are you sure you didn't say 3000" 😂
And when Luke left there was a lot of noise about extra 700 soms, but I couldn't grasp what they said. Though I can guess that at least one person said that Luke liked Elmira and that's why he gave her extra money 😂 cause that's just how they usually are in hair salons.

As kyrgyz i am used to this kind of service like washing the hair and generally 5 star service at barber shops,But I was really surprised that such services are not available in most common barber shops in US and some european countries that I visited.
