PIG! I got 1 mmr away from diamond! Thanks for your vids. roach hydra got me to plat 3 and ling banes got me to nearly diamond.
This game is so good man. I keep coming back to it. I try most RTS games but they just lack compared to this. That is both a shame to the RTS genre and a testament to the quality of SC2.
My biggest problem is that I just feel so alone while playing. I can't get a single friend to play. Chilling in a discord with some friends grinding ladder is a dream to me. They tell me they will play Stormgate at least...

And what to do if the Terran enemy locks himself in his base with tanks and creates an air force?
From some pro: A) 4 spores per base around the drones.
B) Hydras to shoot up and vipers to pull stragglers to you.
C) Make a lil ling/baneling counter attack squad that destroys their base when the Battlecruisers attack you.
Economy is the pre-requisite. 2 base terran can't out econ 4 base zerg.

Hey pig little bit behind on viewing the series. I amcurrently on episode 5 so im not sure if you cover this in episode 6 or this one however, I am wondering if there is an ideal situation to invest in broodlords and what some examples are of some positions where one could naturally transition to them or where one might consider teching to them?
My main focus is still tightening up my build and making sure i stay on top of my macro as the game drags on as I am still silver 1 flirting with a gold 3 promotion. Just wondering what your thoughts are on the unit overall and if they are worth trying to learn for me in the future as they seem like they could be fun to use occasionally. Based off my instincts and observations they seem to just be bad in the current build of the game.

Broods are amazing lategame tools for having the range advantage over your opponent and breaking defensive positions. It forces them to try and close the distance with your ground army, rather than you trying to force your army into their defenses.
If you use ledges and cliffs to micro the broods back over, marines/archons/stalkers all struggle to ever catch the broodlords so they can be a straight up game-winner when micro'd independantly from the rest of your army.
They suck vs Thors, tempests + focus fire and viper abduct.

Thanks for the reply Pig! I feel like my biggest frustration is that my transition from my initial 1-1 ling bane push to the tail end of mid/late game feel really weak as if I can fend off any early pressure or cheese I tend to just win the game with my initial push at around 8-10 minutes.
I tried this new ling/bane style, and it made me feel like a piece of poo poo.

Honestly, these strategies only work on Plat to low diamonds....if you play so in master level...you are only showing disrespect to your opponents and they NEVER WORKS...and what's more...those players on the other side...they play like Plat level...at most....
They were all diamond 1 to masters 2 opponents
