And also, yes. That’s exactly what the competition is about - which flytrap in the greenhouse catches their prey the quickest. Their timer starts from the moment a bug touches their trap until the trap closes

I think the sound effects are great lol. They definitely make the video more entertaining AND engaging. While I love carnivorous plants like Venus flytrap and the pitcher plant, I probably wouldn’t keep interest in videos like these if they were completely silent. As far as I know, you are the only TH-camr doing videos like these with Carnivorous plants. Keep up the good work! You’re producing really entertaining one of a kind content 🙌🙌🙌

You don’t know anything other than the fact that you want water and bugs.
You have no idea you’re part of a competition for the grand prize of a drop of human blood.
Being a fellow grower, I’m so happy someone did a series like this. I love this idea, and I can’t wait for the next episode! You should make this competition a repeating thing, so every year a new Venus flytrap has a chance at claiming the title.

If a flytrap is slow, it may mean it doesn't need the catch ... or is poorly, which is not the case here ... they need to have produced a certain level of (something, sorry, forget what) to reach a critical point at the second trigger ... they won't produce that something if they don't need the nitrogen

How to make your Venus fly traps giant
I like spider the flytrap
Cross Tooth will not be happy to see what has happened, but still let’s go cross tooth he can come back he can upset everyone and show that he’s really on top like he has in the previous episodes! Spider is a close competitor, but the top 3 can easily move down
I think it will be between Crosstooth and Spider but we still have like 5 competitors who have yet to do all of their catches so I genuinely have no idea what will happen 😅

What is your biggest variant of Venus fly trap?
I have B52 and DCXL which are the worlds “biggest”. Currently the biggest in the greenhouse is between Brad giant and spider

Can someone link me to some page that lists all these sub species of fly traps? Can’t find anything good on the web
They’re not subspecies, they’re cultivars. However check out the International carnivorous plant society website and navigate to cultivars section. They have a list of all registered cultivars. Not all cultivars are registered with them as it is a hassle to do so (apparently) :)

I understand, sometimes when watching a video they have 2x 1 minute long videos back to back and can’t skip them. They have recently updated their monetization, everything is now automated and done by their new system and we can remove pre roll or post roll adverts
