I Want to Move to Kanab!

- Searching for a new hometown, me and my dog Ricky are traveling the western states in our Airstream. It was a surprise, coming across Kanab. I almost bypassed it, but I'm glad I didn't. It's a really nice small town near some amazing National Parks and spectacular scenery!
I'm a single female nomad, traveling in my Airstream "Lickety" and my truck "Split" with my dog Ricky. We do mainly dispersed camping (boondocking) with an occasional stay in a campground (state parks). Exploring the beautiful western United States, and looking for a new hometown.

No housing in Kanab. What's available is incredibly over priced. I've been living in a camper trailer for a year and a half here. Almost rented a 550 Sq ft guest house for 1200/ month + utilities. But that's too much. It's great for outdoor activities but there's nothing to do socially. No pool tables, darts, music, putt putt, bowling, shopping, karaoke. But I stay because I love my job as an off-road tour guide. The median value was 379k last I checked. Good luck finding a great little town. (Don't tell anyone but Wyoming and Idaho are both incredible)
Thank you for this video. My husband and I are in the process of downsizing and moving to Kanab to join his recently transplanted SoCal friends. We visited in May 2021, and also felt the special vibe. Us three wives have decided that it is the best thing for our husbands to be together again after being mostly apart for over 20 years. I will miss my trees and country life, but being so close to national parks thrill me.
The reason I would like to move there as Best Friends Animal Sanctuary is there and I could volunteer one or more days a week that would be great but the surrounding topography and the views and geography is beautiful however they do have winter and snow
Check out Duluth, Mn. Endless winter but beautiful with an ever expanding health care system.
Fresh clear water. Home prices inflated at the moment but will probably level off soon.

I used to live there for awhile and owned some land. My brother was a Park Ranger in the area. It is a wonderland for hiking and exploring Indian artifacts! FYI: Your pronunciation of Kanab is incorrect. Love your dog!
Haha Hi Mora! It is pronounced Ka-NAB. We have lots of visitors that pronounce it Ka-nob though, so we hear it all the time 😉
How do you take a shower?? My girlfriend and I would also love to know what equipment you use?? For example...pots pans, how does your fridge stay cold, your camera equipment, mics...a little more about items you use everyday that really help you?? Thanks so much! ...Maybe a whole video on that stuff???

I love that area as well. I've looked to relocate to Southern Utah, but what always pops up in the back of my mind is downwinder concerns from the nuclear test site in Nevada. I know they did the testing back in the 50's into the early 60's, but being in the medical field, do you think it is a concern for people living there full time? Just a thought. Cheers.
