People failed to remember something that has happened immediately after the race in Abu Dhabi. When the press conference was happening, Lewis approached Max and had a light-hearted conversation together. Showing that the respect they once had, was still very much present and visible. Sadly this moment didn't get recorded, and is only known to the people who were there. I think the relationship between these two great drivers will stabilize again. Red Bull and Mercedes should both be ashamed for creating this high amount of drama, when most likely the true situation is a lot better than people may think.

I feel like everyone wanted these two to hate each other to spice up the season but the truth is, they had a rivalry not a hatred. They knew that they had fight hard and exploit every single shot. So it’s natural that they had heated moments but now that it’s over, they can resume their normal lives and online media could focus on the upcoming season.
I agree. But fuck me, the media overblown and the unknowledgeable fan reaction make this rivalry even more toxic. I love the fact that Max won his first WDC or imagining Lewis's record-breaking 8th title before the last race. But now I don't want one of those two guys to win anything just to make media and mindless fan to shut up.
I really hope it the rivalry gets personnel next season. Only because it adds to the excitement. But at the same.time.hve respect for each other as they do.
There is no relationship between them. They just race each other and have no connection at all in their personal life and interests. So there is nothing to repair. They are just rivals in a sport.
to be fair, it's been fairly respectful and amicable between Max and Lewis, it's just been dramatic from their teams and toxic from the respective "fans"
Nico and Lewis was also special because they shared the garage, if you are always with your biggest rival its different, here both were clear number 1 drivers at their teams so had full support, while in case of Nico and Lewis it wasnt like that.
Alonso has said that Lewis has isolated himself from the other drivers for a while now, maybe 5 or 6 years, and it shows. You ALWAYS see banter and good laughts among the drivers on the grid, but almost never involving lewis.
Max has been asked about his relationship with Lewis many times, in both Dutch and international media, since joining F1 and his answer has always been that they didn't have a relationship other than being on the same track and that they never really talk with each other outside of press moments. That actually hasn't changed this season. It's just that they have been fighting on track more and were therefore in the media. To Max Lewis is competition but otherwise entirely inconsequential to his life.
I believe Max is so well honed by his mentor that even competition does t faze him. True sign of greatness with a massive advantage to him on his road to success. He IS the ONE and ONLY TRUE PRODIGY of F1. I sincerely doubt another hereditary combination of this magnitude and concerted effort will ever be witnessed in F1, unless AI interferes and create a clone.

What you guys forgot to look at in your analysis is the effect of the toxicity between both team bosses (Toto & Christian). During the course of the season, this added a lot of fuel to both teams management behaviour - on and of the track - and towards fans of both drivers and teams. It didn't help either that the SkyF1 team were very keen to highlight this, adding more fuel to the toxicity on social media between both fan bases.
Spot on. Leaders are responsible for creating culture for their team above all else. Toto and Christian both did a horrible job this year. My 4 and 6 year old have deeper emotional intelligence and conflict resolution skills.

@@pantrofl 2007 was more about Alonso having a meltdown, where he faced competition from a teammate for the first (and last) time in his career. Before people repeat the McLaren favoured Alonso BS, No team would favour a rookie over the reigning world champion. This was clear when Hamilton was told to hold position at Monaco or when Ron Dennis admitted that he favoured Alonso over Hamilton in Australia in the pits which allowed Alonso to jump Hamilton, and that's not mentioning how Hamilton was always given heavier fuel loads in qualifying upto Canada. The FIA investigated Mclaren for the use of team orders and Dennis realised that the the best course of action was to give Hamilton equal treatment since Canada onwards. Alonso couldn't handle it and decided to blackmail McLaren.
Hamilton says his relationship with the Red Bull driver is “no different” to last year. Asked about his relationship with his title rival, Hamilton told the media in Austin: “Not a huge amount to say. “There is limited communication, I think maybe some of the drivers hang more than others do. “I wouldn’t say I particularly hang closely with anyone particularly here. “Last year we would see each other at the track and we would say hi, we do the same this year. “It’s no different for me, personally.”
When i first started watching F1, i liked Hamilton. He seemed like a genuine guy who was also very fast. But over the years, you start to notice the shrewdness behind it all. He knows what he is saying and doing and plays parts very well. I still like him as a driver, but i do not believe he is the honest, innocent person he seems from the outside. That seems like a calculated and well played persona for the media.
Agreed. He loves to come off as some sophisticated, enlightened sort of person, but really he's just another super rich, elite athlete with a big ego. At the British this year, the camera panned around while Bottas was being interviewed (i think after quali) and Lewis couldn't give a shit that his team mate was supposed to be the focus. He (Lewis) was over by the track side fence trying to get the fans all wound up waving at them and such. Totally taking the focus off his own team mate being interviewed for television. EGO!!
I myself thought he was a great guy.. but subsequently his true colors came through. I believe this to be when his father was no longer important to be around.
@@Windband1 - So you're saying that the camera had to pan around to even find Lewis. He let Valtteri take the limelight in the interview. That's not ego. If you really *want* to hate Lewis, I can't stop you. I'm just a neutral observer who thought it might be good if someone else won the championship for a change.
To be honest, all the drama and quarrelling was mainly between Toto and Christian, which went all season long. Max and Lewis did an admirable job of keeping it cool in the media throughout this year. It was their bosses who behaved poorly and unsportsmanlike, during and after the race and I am still adamant that their bickering and pleads over the radio to Massi at race control, was the main contributing factor to the Abu Dhabi controversy. Communication for campaigning against penalties due to racing incidents should be prohibited from 2022 onwards, especially if we are to have a more competitive field with more wheel-to-wheel battles than usual. Max and Lewis should recover from the events of 2021 over the winter break, after all, elite sportsmen have the mental capability to not let tough moments get into their heads. Max especially, since he is always so focused on the task at hand during a race weekend.
Max respect Lewis but there is no Love/Hate . But he rates Alonso over Lewis . He said in press conferences that what Alonso achieved on a slower Ferrrai is great and has as much as greatness of clinching title . Which effectively implies that he recognizes Alonso's 2010 & 2012 campaign as Great than Hamilton's victories on Overpowered Mercedes .
@@ananthu8534 Course he rates Alonso over Lewis, Lewis only equalled Alonso as a rookie and overtook him round the outside in their first race as teammates. I think Hamilton was a lot more respectful post-race in Abu Dhabi because it was simply easier for him to accept that. He knew that Max didn’t do anything wrong and that it was as out of Max’s hands as it was for himself. He didn’t have anything to blame Max for in Abu Dhabi so that made it a lot easier for him to accept the result.
Nah Lewis just polite,if you understand his sense of values you'll know he might never get over it.It's not a thing he can simply accept it,huge difference between lose and robbery.
Abu Dhabi is just 1 out of 22. If you put the race results in a different order and rank Hungary and Silverstone as the last two races of the season, nobody would talk about AD.
I remember watching Silverstone and seeing the excessive celebrations from Lewis, a lot of people felt it was a bit odd. Lewis obviously no stranger to being over the top, but I don't recall Lewis ever celebrating as exuberant as he did in Silverstone, and I can definitely see why Max and Jos would have an issue with that.
You mean him celebrating in his home country, which needed some positivity after their football team lost the Euro finals? Did you think about? probably didn't
Lewis Hamilton is a consummate gentleman. He has integrity and is not going to hold a grudge or let his emotions cloud his respect for great drivers. Max included.
I agree and recognize especially the last past of this video about the Silverstone crash. It had such an impact on Verstappens title chances. That incident alone costed him 32 points vs Hamilton if you take in account Hamilton probably would have finished 2nd. Im dutch and a lot of us used to say: 'revenge for Silverstone!' Seeing Hamilton win after how he hospitalized Verstappen was the low point for the Verstappen fans and was a giant turning point how the battle would continue, gloves off! One race later however Bottas torpedoed both RedBulls at the start thus hurting Verstappens chances even more. The hate vs Mercedes became intenser after that. It's a shame because it could have been a perfect season.
So Max can be agresssive all season and Lewis backs out on two previous occasions. But the one time Lewis doesn't decide to back out (which he is well within his rights to) it causes a collision. Lewis asked if Max was ok during and after the race and was unaware he was in hospital until after. Such a double standard.
@@beanboy3218 that's not the point, the real pain was how Hamilton gained 32 points in the championship. Verstappen going over the line in some cases yes true but it never costed Hamilton dozens of points. Also don't forget Budapest. It was a lame excuse from Mercedes that Hamilton did not know Max was in hospital while he did his overly enthusiastically and exxagerating celebrating. Everybody knew, even in the stands. I was there, we all knew. The booing of Max at Silverstone was also completely left out of any broadcast, whilst later Dutch fans were blamed for doing so. The overall villainizing of Max by british social and coventional media was shocking to say the least, and Mercedes and Hamilton stirred it up even more, hinting at racial motive’s…….dreadful!!
I feel like the start of the hatred was less about the collisions, and more about Lewis’s celebration after the Silverstone GP. Max was NOT happy about that
I still wonder why Jos says that Lewis "put him into the hospital" when he was just at the doctor for the mandatory checks. Seems overly dramatic but I agree that the dutch are pissed off about everything for some reason. I wonder why.
It’s so silly though, at the time it was clear verstappen was ok so why not celebrate the victory, especially after a decent fight back and winning at home. The shit flinging this year has been so toxic from both sides, hope 22’ sees more respectful behaviour both on and off track.
Mercedes and the British medias agenda against max went too far. Tyson fury and Bernie were two of many to call out the witch hunt that was going on. I think Lewis and verstappen kept a reasonable relationship with each other.
So many comments here imply that the way this championship was decided with last second rule changes is okay because “Lewis already has 7” I sincerely hope that you all keep that same energy in seasons to come.
MV complained about Merc at Silverstone celebrating when he was getting 'checked over' at hospital ...I didn't see Max even look at Hamilton after parking a tyre on his head at Monza. What a hypocrite he is.

Really glad you've highlighted the crash in Silverstone. I don't want to be the one constantly bringing up the Silverstone incident, but I have to say it was that moment, I think, that conflict started because at first both trusted the other to race hard but fair and in that moment Hamilton broke the trust. On top of that he celebrated like he is re-establishing the British empire. Meanwhile Max won his home race cleanly and the celebrations were a minimum.
the trust has never been there between max and any other driver, they all respect him as a racer but do not trust him to make a safe move rather throwing it all on the line and dive up the inside
Everybody saw that Verstappen was alright right after the crash. If he gas been hurt and transported immediately to the hospital it's a different story. Red Bull and Verstappen used that opportunity to make Hamilton look bad. How would Hamilton know that Verstappen is in the hospital if the doctors decided afterwards that precautionary checks are needed.

Many "press" commentators state that Masi "broke" the rules, thus gifting the win to Max. If F1 wanted rid of Lewis, F1 should have let him have his 8th championship. Then he would have retired quietly. Now there will be endless controvosy. It serves F1 right!
It is very much 2 opposing personalities. Hamilton has, for a long time, seen himself as the king, untouchable, and all powerful. It’s no secret as to how much he influenced and once controlled formula 1. His behaviour, and unsportsmanlike behaviour this year has soured my opinion of him. I am very much in support of Jeremy Clarksons shots at Hamilton. Max had absolutely shon this year. His personality, attitude, and ability to light heartedly laugh at some things, along with his growing relationship and respect for checo, has left him as a stand out favourite. It is easy to see how he is loved by so many, and why “super max” was such a popular chant 😂
where has hamilton ever thought or said himself to be untouchable or all powerful? Whats unsportsmanlike behavior? What happened to the same energy from the entire redbull camp and Jos and marko slandering hamilton, saying he has no talent etc.? If you want to be upset about a lack of respect, only one side attacked the integrity of the other, and it wasnt mercedes and hamilton
This rivalry has been super interesting and intense and will probably continue to be, but I really don’t like all this media speculation about how they feel about each other. Of course they don’t like each other at times, they were fighting for historic wins. But only they know how they feel about each other so it’s a bit pointless just to drum up more controversy to have something to talk about in the off season.
Totally agree, it's not only irrelevant since the season is already over but also inconvenient for the health of the sport. There are certainly other topics to focus on considering how much could the tables turn on 2022. I hope The Race to raise up the bar on their journalism.
Are we really surprised it got this bad? Hamilton has shown in the past he can't really handle a decent title challenge. Sure, he talks the right talk, but in the end he is at least as selfish as any other driver. Just listen to his openly hostile team radios whenever he feels he is losing out. And Verstappen is a racer who takes a dominant position in any fight. He sets the rules of engagement and stays within the limits he sets, but in doing so he leaves little room for the other driver to step over the limits. This is why Silverstone went so bad. Hamilton felt he was wronged in the sprint race (and the races before that), because he felt that Verstappen had dictated the limits for their fights (which he had done). Hamilton was out of control and he can't handle that. Since he wasn't able to simply take back the control and dictate the rules of engagement himself he decided to not follow the limits that Verstappen laid down. And since Verstappen doesn't allow room for this they collided.
Max was definitely better than lewis in race pace but he gets dirty in wheel to wheel racing. I have seen numerous instances this season where if you don't give him space (even if he is divebombing) he will crash into you. He really needs to sort this out, he can't expect other drivers to give him space everytime.
It cracks me up RB and Verstappen getting all high and mighty about Hamilton taking him out while driving like an absolute lunatic the whole season. If Hamilton doesn’t steer completely the wrong direction there’s 10+ torpedo impacts throughout the season. Here’s hoping the stewards can come to a consensus on what’s allowed and rule consistently in 2022.
I think for max fans they can’t get pass silverstone and for lewis fans they can’t get pass Abu Dhabi. The drivers may feel different later on but the fans will always argue these 2 points.
you can't have watched that final lap and now a thing about f1 and not realize that was not normal behavior from Masi or any other f1 director... period. it was done for the views and the drama.

Actually, a real rivalry is what makes sports in general worth watching and memorable. I don't like any sports in which eras are like one big "we are a family, hallelujah" party. If there is a sport I don't like and two rivals hate each other, the sport itself becomes suddenly interesting. Next season will be even potentially better given Hamilton being prepared to virtually kill him. p. s. I know both drivers behave like adults off track all is in the small things.
I don't know what to think of this. All I know is that I started the season very much disliking Hamilton's persona. And even though I'm happy that Max won because I am a RB fan, I like Hamilton a whole lot more now. The way he celebrated his home win felt somewhat wrong to me. But other than that, he has been very gracious and respectful over the whole season, and that is what I want to see in every sports person
Before 2021 I didn't like Hamilton because of how dominant in the sport he was. This season I saw a lot of hate he was receiving and didn't want to be apart of it, so I starting supporting him along with my favourite driver Dani. This season I respect and appreciate him more than any driver on the grid.
Lewis is only respectful when he’s winning or in the lead. The moment he isn’t he’s either A) complaining on the radio to his team about a strategy call B) Calling out some illegality to the FIA that allowed him to be in second. C) Calling out the winning driver or team as clearly having the faster car. This is where the Hamilton hate comes from.
Kimi Raikkonen has made a whole career of complaining on the radio but gets praised for it, Alonso complains, people find it funny, Max complains all the time, people find it funny but when Lewis complains when something doesn’t go right, all of sudden he’s a crybaby.
No, that was actually a caveat to what they were saying about resentment. They meant that in other places in the interview, Verstappen senior named Hamilton by his first name (indicating a certain familiarity in the relationship), so the fact that he did not when talking about Silverstone could have been resentful, but it could also have been nothing, because if there was resentment you may not have expected him to use Hamilton's name, and certainly his first name, in other parts of the interview.
It was not even the fact that Lewis knocked Max off at Silverstone that made Max pissed off but the reaction of Lewis after he won Silverstone. Also the disrespectful cheering of the crowd right after the hard crash didn’t help. This caused quite a bit of annoyance not only from Max but also the fans that support Max.
Lewis Hamilton is the sorest of losers when it comes to people in "equal" cars and there's a history too. Hamilton's relationship with Nico Rosberg's still hasn't returned to what it was before the 2016 title fight. That started the same too... Nice and complimentary Lewis in the beginning of the season - mid season it was I respect Nico as a competitor Lewis - end of season I can only control my own race Lewis. I don't need to point out the state of Alonso/Hamilton's relationship
i lost all my respect for lewis and merc after they celebrated at silverstone, if max crashed lewis out at zandvoort and celebrated like lewis at silverstone, the british media would have crucified him
British media lol. It’s all about race with them . I’m surprised they don’t attack Toto more because of his race . I guess they’re careful since he is supplying Dorothy with the gayest hot air balloon.
I hope both teams can take a step back in attacking each other and clear rules set limits that are equal for every competitor. I think missing both of that really hurt the very intense titlefight, we didn´t enjoy in many years before.
Good video. Silverstone was the flashpoint which made the championship dirty. Max got doubly penalized -- once for no points and then again for a new engine. If the British stewards found Hamilton to be "predominantly at fault" then he should've had a stop-go penalty, effectively being put out of the points just like the car he took out. After that had Hamilton driven a brilliant recovery drive up to 3rd or 4th (which he is very capable of), it'd have been fun to watch and in my opinion, fair. Overall the FIA has to rethink penalties, rules, inconsistent enforcement of the rules, and favouritism (don't forget the hush hush 2019 Ferrari engine deal). So basically all the same issues FIA had in the '80s. Fans will threaten to stop watching and then come back to the sport because even though the new engines sound like a badly souped-up supra, we all love the sport and the thrill of the world's fastest cars going around race tracks designed by Tilke in a procession. It's like the ex I keep taking back despite knowing how toxic she gets.
I think Hamilton needed a harsher penalty for that crash honestly. But I also acknowledged that it is not a simple issue, like a 10 second penalty effectively puts out of contention most cars on the grid, while the mercedes can have a 25 grid place penalty (Brazil GP) and still come out first. Like what I'm trying to say is that one reason penalties didn't work this season is because the RB and Mercs could basically nullify them with pace, this, while it is no fault of the stewards or of the drivers.. begs the question of how can you truly punish them in the future?
@@sergioccs74 My point of view (I may be wrong, it's an opinion) is that any car, be it Mercedes or Haas, that is at fault for ending the race of another car should be put at the back of the grid (or out of points via a stop and go). If the car manages to race back into points or victory, great job. Points well earned. At the end of the day, it's very rare that a driver is 100% at fault for an incident. So the penalty should ensure that it's reasonably difficult for a team to gain points. Though it may not be entirely impossible for a team like Mercedes.
@@sergioccs74 i think they need to do position penalties in serious misconduct, like instead of a 10 second penalty for making max crash, he could have gotten a 2 position penalty and ended 3rd
How about a race disqualification or suspension from the next race? That possibility should get the drivers' attention. Let the punishment fit the crime. Michael Schumacher was disqualified from the entire 1997 championship for one incident described as intentional. Let's see fair play return to the sport, even if it costs your hero dearly.
So no mention of the words by Redbull toward Hamilton? No mention of the fact that after Silverstone that Redbull, in effort to continually try and get Hamilton penalized further they created false evidence and presented that to the FIA? No mention of how disrespectful Redbull treated Hamilton on track by using Perez to block Hamilton, while Mercedes never did that with Bottas. The narrative is clearly that Verstappen is the victim despite the fact that around 60% of the incidents on track this year were created and performed by Verstappen's overly aggressive driving.

The turningpoint was Silverstone. Not even the crash itself , but the fact Lewis blamed Max for not leaving space (a lie) and the way they celebrated the win and never appolozised. Before Silverstone Max had left the door open for a move to Mercedes , after Silverstone he shut that door completely. Again , not even because of the crash itself
It doesn't really matter. What is fact though, is that the FIA gifted the 2021 Championship to Max by intentionally departing from the rules. Therefore the race was not won on the track rather in Race Control.
1. Hamilton was not the only one to blame at Silverstone. Why do so many people frame Max as the poor victim that got "taken out"? he contributed to having himself taken out. 2. Jos was just a back marker.
Mercedes PR team created all these unnecessary drama . Radio of Lewis's engineer immediately after Safety Car and Max's pitstop is the first point were the drama started . Its evident from the Mercedes engineer's voice that they understand 'The Race is Lost' . Yet he assured Lewis that the race will end under safety car with too many laps remaining. At Silverstone, intentional or not it was clearly Hamilton's fault and he wasn't punished enough. At Monza it was a racing incident, the car bounced off the sausage curb ffs, yet Verstappen got a grid penalty anyway. At Interlagos, this time it was Max' fault, yet the appropriate penalty wouldn't have changed a thing, Ham was always gonna pass him such was the pace difference. At Abu Dhabi first lap turn 6 the stewards made up for their inconsequential mistake at Interlagos... giving the advantage to Ham unfairly,;who was yet again in a rocket ship compared to Red Bull. Then the last safety car incident. If everything before Abu Dhabi was fair(or only the punishment at Silverstone was fair), Max should have entered the last race with a guaranteed champiionship victory if he finished 2nd at the worst. So whatever shenanigans they pulled off in the last 5 laps is only to the stewards and Masi's embarrassment. Max deserved it anyway. So I can totally understand Adrian Newey's feelings even after Max winning the championship. Sincerely, I'm a Seb fan, am neutral to Max and I don't like Lewis' character much(no one can deny his talent).
@wakkydude You cant deny this was a turning point in the championship. Bowling your rival of the track and still winning the race doesnt set a good standard. Why the hell would either of them back down from a fight now that you know the risk/punishment is completely negligable…
[At Silverstone, intentional or not it was clearly Hamilton's fault and he wasn't punished enough. At Monza it was a racing incident] A little bit of honesty would be appreciated. Whenever two parties are to blame and one is more to blame FIA applies the exact same penalty every time. IF the penalty can be given during the race, 5 seconds, if not, next race 3 places on the grid. When ONLY 1 driver is to blame it becomes 10 seconds or more or 5 places or more. From that alone you can work out BOTH were to blame for Silverstone and BOTH were to blame for Monza. For Silverstone it was mainly Lewis, for Monza it was mainly Max. Compare that to the 5 place grid penalty Bottas received for Hungary, he was solely to blame. You could also have read this in FIA decission as they are publicized.
@@endthisnonsense7202 It sets a bad precedent where you can crash your title rival and still win the race to gain 25 points. They could have also deducted points after the race as a possible punishment…. @@gistrobaguette7566 [It sets a bad precedent where you can crash your title rival and still win the race to gain 25 points.] As explained, it was not onesided both crashed into each other it was just HAM being a bit more to blame. Apart from that it is not precedent, it is luck. If this crash is repeated a hundred times 90 times both will get a DNF, 4 times VER only, 4 times HAM only and 2 times both can continue the race.
Great piece! It bring up a point in Senna-Prost battle, everytime they "hit" each other was at a slow speed corner. Most of the ""touches" in these battles were at mid to low corners... with the execption of one.
Let them drive for a midfield team 👍 Then all the delusional fanboys from BOTH sides (though especially from HAM's side, ofc) would see that they could only dream of getting close to the title without having the dominant cars over anyone else. Yet that's not meant as "disrespect" or anything, but it's just the golden rule of F1, which applies to everyone.

people think the FIA was "unfair" or "confuse", but, just replace the Abu Dhabi and Silverstone races in the calendar, and take a look at the end result: Verstappen would still win without finishing the race. My point is: all the pains were about what happened as the LAST race, but if it was any other race in the calendar, nobody would still commenting the issue. Hamilton for the first time faced a similar driver and is passing the token to the new generation, that day would arrive no matter what. I never saw a mega great performance from Hamilton, maybe because he always had the best car and the success was at least expected (he even lost to himself in 2016), and in his carreer he was very lucky also (take 2008 as example, where Ferrari was the best car but one of the worst teams, they lost the championship more than Hamilton won that year). In the end Mercedes lost the driver championship because: 1) they were arrogant at the very last laps after Latifi's crash 2) RedBull worked hard to close the gap 3) Verstappen is very good Hamilton complained that Verstappen "brake-checked" him but completely "forgets" about his own tactics to hit the opponent's rear tires with his front wing in high speed corners. (Just take a look on the last years, how many drivers he "picked" like that) RedBull was even one entire engine short because of Silverstone. that being said, I think media inflates to the last consequences every bit of the battle and wants to see "BLOOD" throwing one against the other.
I wouldn't put much thought into the idea that they hate each other. They pushed each other so much all season but I see it being a 2021 season thing. If I had to name an incident that started to turn it downhill, it would be Silverstone and the way Lewis celebrated after the race. It was completely over the top. He celebrated like he'd clinched the championship or won his home race for the first time.
@Henry Healy Really? That's your rationale? So he shouldn't have celebrated winning his how race? Whats the proper way of celebrated? Should have held a sermon? Especially as he wasn't informed max was taken for *PRECAUTIONARY* checks.

Just for reference Hamilton vs teammates: vs Alonso there was resentment, vs Button there was no love loss, vs Rosberg there was hatred. The only teammate Hamilton got along with was Bottas. Now let’s take Verstappen vs teammates: vs Sainz it was a battle but they are still friends, vs Ricciardo it was a battle but they are still friends, vs Gasley it was lopsided but they are still friends, vs Albon it was lopsided but they are still friends and vs Checo the relationship is fantastic. Does anyone see a pattern here? Maybe Hamilton isn’t the really “great” guy he always presents himself to be🤷🏻. Just sayin
Hamilton only got along with Bottas because he was a wingman unlike the others. The others pushed Hamilton back and didn't oblige to team orders to just "let him through."

Instead of a proper judgement we got a MB/Hamilton celebration. The season was never going to be fair again after that. It is a miracle that Verstappen managed to hold on to the Championship he deserved all year long.
No hate to Verstappen but you wouldn’t be complaining if the ten second time penalty was enough to stop him from winning
@@bigsteppa814 The penalties nowadays are simply way too soft, even in 2015 kimi got 30 seconds in russia for hitting bottas. Nowadays the highest you ever see is 10 seconds or a grid penalty, this just encourages dirtier driving..

Spain and Imola there was never any trust...
the trust has never been there between max and any other driver, they all respect him as a racer but do not trust him to make a safe move rather throwing it all on the line and dive up the inside

Max's idea of racing hard is very much arguable tho...
Recently Marko was asked if it would be imagineable that Verstappen would ever in his career drive for Mercedes. Marko said: "No, too much has happened this year, especially at Silverstone".

What utter rubbish....
TLDR: Hamilton tries to play by the rules while Max makes up his own. The moment Hamilton doesn't follow the rules they clash and gets blamed for it.
If Hamilton was as aggressive as Max when they were wheel to wheel I don’t think the pair would have finished half their races

Max was definitely better than lewis in race pace but he gets dirty in wheel to wheel racing. I have seen numerous instances this season where if you don't give him space (even if he is divebombing) he will crash into you. He really needs to sort this out, he can't expect other drivers to give him space everytime.
@@madhavisingh9046 max was also impacted at Baku, and at a bunch more GPs than Hamilton.
It cracks me up RB and Verstappen getting all high and mighty about Hamilton taking him out while driving like an absolute lunatic the whole season. Here’s hoping the stewards can come to a consensus on what’s allowed and rule consistently in 2022.

Next season will be even potentially better given Hamilton being prepared to virtually kill him.

I’m sure they’ll have mellowed when the season starts, then it just depends if they have another flashpoint on track

Feel sorry for what? He is ok and will be fine..Max is the one to answer those questions..
Stop projecting. Be sorry and nervous for Max, he will be the one getting a barrage of questions by the media about being gifted a win by Masi
8:25 how does mentioning someone by their first name instead of their last name mean resentment to you?
Jos is the last person that should be criticizing anyone’s character. That man is a walking red flag

What is this? Netflix?
I hope both teams can take a step back in attacking each other and clear rules set limits that are equal for every competitor. I think missing both of that really hurt the very intense titlefight, we didn´t enjoy in many years before.
Just get this Hamilton vs Verstappen controversy done and dusted, FIA.
Definitely broke down when Lewis decided to punt Max off at Silverstone.
@@sergioccs74 "More penalties!" Alonso, 2018
Lol they did try and block Hamilton with Bottas it's just that hes shit
Everything about how they view each other is all because of how big a man Lewis is. To not want to thump him in the head after all the dirty driving Max did makes him the biggest man in racing.
This have escalated because we had never seen so many wheel-to-wheel battles between two title contenders before.
Why is it only Verstappen talked about this?

It doesn't really matter. What is fact though, is that the FIA gifted the 2021 Championship to Max by intentionally departing from the rules. Therefore the race was not won on the track rather in Race Control.

2. Jos was just a back marker.

From there a series of drama by Mercedes team and their Boss created all these problems .

[At Silverstone, intentional or not it was clearly Hamilton's fault and he wasn't punished enough.
At Monza it was a racing incident]
A little bit of honesty would be appreciated.
You could also have read this in FIA decission as they are publicized.

people think the FIA was "unfair" or "confuse", but, just replace the Abu Dhabi and Silverstone races in the calendar, and take a look at the end result: Verstappen would still win without finishing the race.
In the end Mercedes lost the driver championship because:
1) they were arrogant at the very last laps after Latifi's crash
2) RedBull worked hard to close the gap
3) Verstappen is very good
Hamilton complained that Verstappen "brake-checked" him but completely "forgets" about his own tactics to hit the opponent's rear tires with his front wing in high speed corners.
(Just take a look on the last years, how many drivers he "picked" like that)
RedBull was even one entire engine short because of Silverstone.
that being said, I think media inflates to the last consequences every bit of the battle and wants to see "BLOOD" throwing one against the other.
