- When video cameras first came out, I thought it would be a good idea to record the local area, This includes Moorfield Road, Elmcroft Road, the old part of the High Street etc. I have more footage of driving around Orpington, subject to demand. Quality is a bit basic as you would ex[pect
Wonderful to see! I lived there until 1979 and went to Chislehurst Road School. Thanks for sharing this.
No problem, I must get more up
Love it ! I still live here , love to see more if you have any
Hi Bruce. I lived at 17 Elmcroft Road from 84 - 88 and this video so reminds me of those years. I remember your Vespa and your dad's VW camper van. Great years.
Well done on this one, certainly some classic cars here rarely seen now!
❤
Thank you for sharing. Would love to see more if you have it!
There was an excellent model shop in the parade with Palmers. I am ashamed to say that we used to nick kits from the display cabinet that used to be on the pavement. Pike's Aquatics was a great shop too as was Cray Motorcycles and Palmer's. Used to get my short back and sides haircut in Andrew's in Chislehurst Road!
My old street and school - it brings back memories - brill to see. Thanks for sharing!
I moved to Bridge Road area in 1981 so brought back many memories.
Not a single person walking about - quite eerie
And not many cars either how much better it was in them day's I loved it life was simple then
I've quite a lot more of around the area, I'll get on with putting it up.
The weird thing is I lived at 1 moorfield Road until 1986 so I was probably in that house with the blue car there at the very time you were filming it LOL - Would love to see the other video too
remember J Palmer bike shop got a Dawes disco from there
Nice to see Chiselhurst road school that I went to from 1952 to 1957
I lived at 25 Moorfield Road in 1984. There's just a glimpse of it in this video. Don't suppose you have any more footage of Moorfield Road? Thanks
Also just noticed that Seamac is Under Offer in this film. My parents took over the shop and ran Spectrum Signs from there. I still live in Petts Wood so fantastic to see this. Thanks for sharing!
Did you ever film the Computer Lesuire Centre next to the sport shop?
I don't think so, I can't remember either. We're they Moorfield Rd end?
@lithic2 yeah just up from church road, between peacocks and the pub that turned Mexican. Can't remember what it was called back in the day.
The units ate boarded up now I believe.

First unit with grass fencing was the CLC.
John do you have the next bit of this video going down Perry Hall Road?
Why do people even now think it's a good idea to swing the camera around and zoom in and out while filming. It makes for very bad viewing.
Yes sorry about that but I was very inexperienced in those days
What a shame this ends when it does as it is just about to go down my street!
Stick the rest up!
Way before the invasion good days
