Great video brother! I’m experiencing my first 2018 Silverado oil change. Didn’t expect how simple it would be! Love how the filter virtually mounts right next to the drain. Great easy access!!! They could have made the dipstick a bit higher up because....well....I wasn’t blessed enough to be taller than 5’6” 😂
Just got my 2016 Chevy...always had driven a Ford and it was a pain in the rear to get the oil filter out. Watched your video just to see where everything was at. It definitely looks easier!! Headed outside now to change mine!! Thanks for the great video!!!
Yeah valvoline, mobile 1, and royal purple are good synthetic oils to use. That ac delco oil filter is good too and the wix filter are good too. Wait till the morning to recheck your oil (cold) when its all settle down in the oil pan

I have the same exact truck you have. I got it 7/31/18. It's now 5/2/19. I still haven't changed the oil in it. 2850 miles on it now. Ha. Going to see if I can make it a full year. Ha! The dealer calls me every week to have me bring it in for my 2 free changes. I bought a Fumoto valve for the pan and I don't want them to install it. Had one on my car for years. Worked great. Wanted to put one on my Ranger 4.0 but it might stick down too far. Will probably do it anyway. Makes oil changes much easier and you will never have to worry about your pan threads.

I have always used an old antifreeze container for oil filter removal. Lay it on its side cut out to fit vehicle. Always leave cap end accessible if needed to drain. Less mess and easier cleaning up.
I use wix and napa gold filters. I also pre-oil them. I only took my truck in for the first free oil change at 600 miles. They left oil all over my new steering wheel, tighten the oil filter so tight that I needed water pump pliers to take it off and they over filled it! Never again.

We have a 2012 G.M.C. As well I like to use gloves and make sure the oil goes in the catch basin.

You forgot that you filled the new oil filter with oil! You added 8 total.
