Good afternoon, fellow wanderers and explorers of Azeroth!
After delving into the history of the World Tree Teldrassil, I humbly present to you the next passage of Lore.
For this particular video, I strived to make it more immersive and storylike! Let me know what you think of this Lore overview!
Amazing work. Keep it up
Love the format, all these lore vids have been amazing!
I actually like this more immersive delves into the zones.
"Ishnu´alar, weary traveler!"
This is wonderful, thank you. Fabulous storytelling in every way.
Just curious, how you are able to get the aerial video as you can't fly here?
My first character was a night elf hunter, god this was a magical trip
lol same. I was terrible at it. Then I leveled a paladin, still terrible, then I leveled a feral druid and that's when I started to learn.
Me too. I only played night elf hunters with every 14 day trial I made as a kid. Because of this teldrassil will always be my favourite zone, the atmosphere, scenery, and music is so good and nostalgic
@@Toxicstarxd some will hate me for saying this but you could try private servers for free if you can't afford the game.
same with my NE hunter, since '05. never looked back 💯
@@gotogi83 ik I used to play private servers all the time just got back into retail recently
Best place ever! It was here my journey began in May 2005. 💚💜
As a Night Elf main, I appreciate this beautiful tribute to my homeland.
I started WoW way back in Vanilla, and my first ever character, that I still play to this day, was a Night Elf Hunter.
Ich kenne dieses Gefühl. Bei mir war es ein Zwergen Jäger. 😊
Teldrassil is an interesting topic of WoW. Most WoW players seem to regard it as essential to the Night Elves' identity, because it has been there since Vanilla, but lorewise, it's basically a giant mistake and a symbol of the Night Elves clinging to a lost blessing they should have moved on from. In-universe Teldrassil was less than 30 years old when it was burned down. Blizzard seems to play into this perception, naming the Night Elven language after Darnassus which is somewhat absurd, since that city is seemingly also a very new city, the same age as the tree. Now Blizz seems to focus on creating a new world tree for the Night Elves, not because of any profound in-universe reason, but just more because that... the Night Elves should have a world tree, apparently. At the same time, Blizz seems fine to neglect that the REAL homeland of the Night Elves, meaning the regions of Hyjal, Ashenvale, Felwood, Darkshore, etc. are basically left to be contested areas that are fairly under-developed with regards to night elf population and infrastructure.
It's a bit like if everyone in WoW spoke as if Theramore was the iconic city of the humans and focused on rebuilding it for all humans, more or less ignoring the Eastern Kingdoms.
This is a valuable assessment! Thanks for this input, you just made me a little wiser.
Hoestly, I don't need them to live IN another World Tree, I actually want the area around Hyjal to become their new Homeland, whether it's Hyjal itself, Felwood, or Ashenvale. Any of those as the Night Elves new homeland is fine by me.
@@Lupinemancer87 I would like that too, but I suspect Blizzard don't want to take on a whole new "zone revamp" project that will invalidate the old content there and possibly confuse players (especially new ones) further. It's easier to just create a new area. I sympathize with that, but the lore-nerd in me is a bit disappointed. I'd honestly love a cleaned-up Felwood or a capital built around Nordrassil or something.
Honestly, there's a couple of plausible Speculative reasons for 'Darnassian' to be the Common name for the language!
1. It's an exonym, I.E. a name for a people, language or place used by people _outside_ that place. This happens _all_ the time irl (Germany being Germany in English but Deutschland in German comes to mind!) and would probably have been given by the Humans to the language of the people they met from Darnassus. In which case, I _would_ be rather sad not to have the Kaldorei name for the language on my HUD as a Night Elf, but... spaghetti code. Maybe they could tie it to the Heritage armor?
2. Darnassus could be the name of an ancient Kaldorei city that they used as a symbol of renewal and hope for the future and was thusly already the name of the language.
3. Darnassian is a dialect of the greater Kaldorei language used by Night Elves who interact with the wider world and thusly the wider world calls this dialect 'Darnassian' because the Capital of the currant outward leaning Night Elves is Darnassus
4. Mix of A, B and C, Darnassus _is_ the name of an ancient city, _but_ Darnassian is what the Humans decided to call the language/dialect of the people they met who came from Darnassus.
You like night elfs?
Well good on you ya racist bastard
Night elfs are super racist they extremly power hungry they create one world ending disaster after another
And oh yerh they betray and lie about who the betrayer was
They all betrayed Illidan
They stopped him from singel handedly destroying the lich king
They trown out allies cause they looked like cows
They created worgan
They created naga
They created centaur
They summoned the dark legion
Do i even need to go on...
Happy to see the series still going strong and can’t wait to see where you take us next
my favorite starting zone😍😍
Mine too 🥰
Coming back to these woods is always like coming back home. Ever peaceful. Ever pure.
This channel needs to get more views. The storywriting transforms a place I've adventured in so many times into a land of mystery. So well written and produced wonderfully. Thank you for your work! Your future will shine brighter than Teldrassil did when Sylvanus came for a visit... ;)
Wow, thank you! Glad you liked it so much! More to come!
@@TheChroniclesofAzerothyeah these are truly well made and I definitely look forward to more
Another beautiful video and story!
Nice I’m here early
Enjoy the serene atmosphere of this wondrous tree!
These videos are fantastic. Thank you!
Thank you for coming along on this adventure!
The storytelling style in this video has marked improvement from the Elwynn Forest video. While i enjoyed both of them, the questlines described in Teldrassil felt tied into the overrarching history and events. Keep up the great work!
Great to hear it worked out so well! The stories, locations and characters will be more intertwined from here on out!
Yes! I'm here early and this is gonna be a banger. Can't wait for Mulgore
Every now and then the TH-cam algorithm delivers a gem. This is one of those instances. When people ask me what I love about wow, I’ll be linking these videos. Such a great idea and exceptionally well executed.
Your kind words resonate within my heart, dear traveler! Enjoy the magic of Azeroth!
Dude heck yea new video, you gotta do all the starting regions at least! Your format is so rewatchable. Almost asmr like
Thanks! Will do!
Between low draw distances in the original release combined with zone changes and the sheer size of the starting zone it took me literally years to realize that the whole place was supposed to be inside a tree
I'm loving these narrative lore vids. Just so chill to sit back and revisite places i havent been in over a decade. Keep up the great work. Looking forward to what wver comes next.
The script is a work of art
I love this tuff, how it's all told and plays out.
the feeling and smile that the beginning of teldrassils music brings me is unmatched!
It accomplished it's purpose!
Teldrassil was my first foray into WoW. I was always a fan of Warcraft and this is where I first felt like I was a part of the story, a part of the world. I have long since stopped playing and have heard of what became of the grooves that held such nostalgia for me. Thank you for reminding me of the halcyon days, in both my real and virtual life. Elune-Adore
Teldrassil and Ashenvale are in my top 5 favorite video game zones. Nice video.
You have a great taste! The music in those zones is unmatched and truly magical. Adds so much to the atmosphere!
What are the others in your top 5?
Ever since the loss of Teldrassil I have come to apricate it so much more, next to Eversong Woods it's my second favourite Starting Area.
It's why I keep finding myself returning to the early expansions of the game! There's so much emotion and nostalgia in those areas-it really makes them unforgettable.
@@TheChroniclesofAzeroth I do too and I agree! I've recently started a new Night Elf Druid just so I can enjoy Teldrassil again.
Love it!
Thanks! Enjoy!
Awesome Sunday listen to drive to. Should do dun morough next
Great suggestion!
This was so nice, my first charater was a nigh elf druid back in BC and I stopped playing before BFA but every so often i go back and play a night elf and do the starting zone. These are really great videos.
That's awesome! Glad you enjoyed it!
Two days ago, I found this channel, and after watching a few videos, have subscribed.
Awesome, thank you! Welcome aboard!
Holy tauren I love this channel!
Wow, thanks!
May the aspects give their blessings for all your work, amazing work. 10/10 Waiting for Duskwood, maybe you could deliver it on october to fit with friday 13th haha. Keep going mate.
Great suggestion!
I love this channel, i watch every episode the day you upload them, and can't wait for certain zones like The Barrens, and Tirsisfal Glades
Great to hear, fellow adventurer! Expect those zones in the near future!
I remember the feeling of first time going over the edge. Just the moment in when I understood, that alle the chill hours I had here happened on a chopped giant tree.. so amazing. I always grinded GW1 more, but the lore of WoW and the aesthetics are just unbeaten.
Night elf life is always a chill experience. The atmosphere is great
Very tranquil, especially with that soundtrack :)
I love your videos. Thanks!
Glad you like them! Thanks for watching!
I would like one of these for every single zone in the entire game.
Seeing how popular these are, that's definitely something I plan on doing now!
@@TheChroniclesofAzeroth awesome! That's so exciting!
Brilliant!
Love the series!
This was my second starting zone ever in Vanilla, and the first one I played all the way through. So many freaking memories! Thank you for making these vids!
That's awesome to hear! Next video is in the works!
as a new player to wow I love when you upload! thank you!
Glad you enjoy it!
I had never played an mmo before creating a night elf Druid. When I created my character and walked into this world, it was the most amazing thing I had ever seen. Not knowing the accessibility of the entirety of Azeroth, I made my way questing as a resto Druid to Darnasus. The world opened up even more. I then learned I could zoom out of my map and see 2 ginormous continents. I was so curious what each zone would bring. I learned the maps as well as I knew my own country. Everyone is searching for that feeling again, but it’s gone. It will never be the same twice.
Your description really connects with my own, and it's somewhat melancholic to realize that those early years filled with wonder and new experiences are now in the past. But at least we've experienced them and can go back in time with these videos :)
Hell yeah! Proud to be a subscriber to this channel!
Glad to have you on this journey!
Really like listening to these!
Superb, enjoy!
Awesome video! Keep em coming!!
Absolutely loving this series! Each episode is becoming more and more anticipated with each entry!
Glad you think that way! New episode on the way!
Excellent video. I grew up playing World of Warcraft. I started in November 2006 as a thirteen year old and played until around 2017 in Legion, finishing with a few weeks of Classic in the summer of 2019. My first character was a Night Elf. I've written many posts about WoW nostalgia in the past, so I'll simply say that Teldrassil and the Night Elves mean more to me than I can put into words.
Thanks for sharing your journey! Enjoy the fond memories!
looks like a national geographic documentary but world of warcraft and i love it.
Thanks for the kind words! Enjoy!
Another wonderful video! Also i'm super glad to see the view counts on your current videos growing, you deserve it man!
Thanks a ton!
Brilliant! Muy Bueno!! Another par excellence.
Glad you like it so much!
My first ever proper character was night elf male hunter, I got hacked on that account and was devastated but im still playing to this day. Amazing video 🙏
Awesome job! Love the mix on your voice very deep and buttery. Im hooked now! Subbed!
Awesome, thank you! New lore entry will be up this weekend!
Damn. The lore up to legion is awesome. Subbed!!!!
Welcome aboard!
Great video again! :D
The quests in Teldrassil are the best because they all tie into the mystery of the corruption.
Trouble in paradise. The compelling narrative. The quests all end in answers that beg more questions.
I must find out more.
The other starting zones are like ''those blasted troggs are at it again!'' ''Those wicked quilboar are at it again''. Rawr!!!! Breeeigh!!!
Hahahaha indeed!
Loved it again! Has been such a great way to relax and revisit some of our favorite places in Azeroth. Early prediction of Mulgore next!!
Awesome, thank you! Expect Mulgore soon!
I really enjoy your voice. First video I listened to was Murlocks. Now this one. Consider me subscribed waiting for new content.
Awesome, thank you! Welcome aboard!
This is amazing. I never knew wow is so beautiful
I'm glad you like it so much!
THESE ARE SO GOOD
Wonderful work. Really wish we had access to something like this nearly 20 years ago when it was taking the world by storm.
Archdruid Truesunn of the Zangarmarsh server thanks you for this piece of historical knowledge.
You are most welcome!
This was very well done, and so nostalgic. Thank you for making and sharing these!
Another good episode. It's great to see you making more videos and I hope to see more to come. When you get through with Azeroth maybe we get a sequel series that goes into the changes brought about by the Cataclysm?
That's a great concept! The plan is to not delve too deep into Retail Lore and stick to Classic - Wrath for the time being, but afterwards we can definitely explore more Lore together!
Amazing!
Thank you! Cheers!
Man these videos bring me back. much love from washington.
Glad you like them!
love it
Excellent series for all WOW players! On point production that summarizes the lore and easier to digest. Truly a soulbound series!
Glad you like them!
Please keep these going as long as you can! Loving these
That's a deal!
This way of storytelling is feeling better than in two previous videos, more like a real story than lore of location. But I miss chapters' names in the video, they were beautifully designed.
And, as always, it was a pleasure, thank you
Hey, and thanks for your views! After listening to the feedback of the first two Lore videos, I sought to create a more immersive way of storytelling that progressed logically through the zone.
While I left out the plain text on screen to keep viewers from getting distracted, I do try to add chapters in the video description so people can easily find what is being discussed at any given time! Hope this helps!
Yesssss
No comments needed. Yet again gj! Very good! :)
Hey, still thanks for the kind words!
These videos are so good! I'm always waiting for the next one!!
Glad you like them! Enjoy!
These have been the BEST lore videos I've ever watched!! Sooooo glad you're doing these! I've watched each one multiple times because they are so well made and easy to follow! I've tried to sit through other channel's lore videos that are 3-4 hours long and I just get bored. I'm so impressed with this channel!! Keep up the fantastic work!!!! 🫶
Wow, thanks! This is making my day!
Brilliant video
Thanks so much! Enjoy!
Keep these up man! Love listening to them while I work. Excited for some more zones 🎉🎉
how did I not find this earlier? Exactly what I need for those late night questing and achievement runs! Awesome sound, nice background ambience and your voice gives a nostalgic classic vibe! Great job keep going!
Amazing! Glad I could help!
My favorite zone... so magical
Love these videos! Keep them coming!
Thanks! Will do!
Another incredible lore video! Excellent work sir Loremaster!
Thank you kindly!
I absolutely love these videos and your channel. You’ve got the voice for this for sure! Please keep going!!
Thank you so much! More to come!
Truly incredible videos, keep up the great work!
Glad you like them!
excellent story telling, you have a lovely voice that i could listen to all night long, so soothing , and like many others, the night elf was how i first adventured into azaroth, ;D
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for listening!
Love these :)
Glad to see the series still going. Easy like :)
Thanks, glad you like it!
These are great! Thanks for the content.
Glad you like them!
Loving these, I can't wait for the next one!
More to come! Thanks!
BEAUTIFUL content love it the narration and storytelling a plus
Much appreciated! Glad you enjoyed!
Teldrassil and Azure span have a special place in my heart. no other capital city has such a specific atmosphere as these places. when I started playing them I really felt like I was in an alien world full of mysteries. The music, aesthetics, quests, everything felt different from the rest of the game in a good way. i really miss teldrasill
This is simply exquisite! 10/10 How I miss my night elf Druid!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I love listening to these videos while I’m at work to kill time, it’s like a mini audio book! Keep it going! Would love to hear you delve into some dungeon lore too, like gnomer or DM:) keep up the good work!
Great suggestions! Definitely something that's on my list!
This channel is amazing. Subbed!!!
Welcome!
Beautifully done.
Thank you very much!
Absolutely lovely commentary.
Thank you kindly!
There are a lot of zones to choose from, looking forward to hearing about any one of them from this channel.
I strive to create a well written and produced lore overview of each zone!
Though I've always thought teldresil was a failed experiment and that night Elves should focused on mt hygil, Ashenvale and felwood. Still is my favourite zone along with Ashenvale and I will never forgive blizzard for destroying it .the new tree better be good
I know it may be a long while til it comes but Nagrand is my favorite zone in all of WoW. So many memories and spent time out in Halaa. Keep up the wonderful work.
Same here! Nagrand would be a pleasure to make!
YESSSSSSSSSS
I really like these videos
I hope everyone is directing Blizzard to your channel because you deserve their attention! Your voiceover is outstanding!
Let's go! Thanks for watching!
I can’t wait for more of these
Wander with me on this journey across all zones in the World of Warcraft
@@TheChroniclesofAzeroth I’ll be there every step of the way, Loremaster.
First character was a Night Elf. That zone seemed so big back then, I think partly because I had to turn the view distance down to the lowest setting so "Go to the lake south east of Dolanaar..." it could be anywhere! I was so stoked on the thought of PvP, I remember thinking about how certain spots could be choke points and how to get onto a roof top so I could shoot down at the Horde if they should ever come.
Later, in Auberdine, a Horde raid came through and it was like a very slow slide show for my ancient PC. It was like 0.1 FPS.
That's a great story to share, fellow explorer! Thanks!
In-game the aesthetics of the Night Elf Starting area and quests and zones is absolutely top tier, but the plot, story, logistics, all was not and very forgettable. On the Alliance side, the only side that seemed to have a great plot, well fleshed out and felt intriguing and some importance was Humans, starting with Elwynn Forest, Westfall, Duskwood and Redridge. Everything was streamlined and fun.
Night elf zones were lengthy, with tons of running back and forth and lacked much action, challenge or less abstract than "this land is plagued" being the story for most Night Elf content. Eastern Kingdoms side in General was more fun and direct. At least on the Horde end, from Barrens on, it was expansive, adventurous and themed around practical concerns and "to tame a land" (conquest) goals, war conflict; on top of I feel horde side had more quests involving attacking or oppositional the Alliance as the objective.
Would be nice if they expanded the war front of Night Elves vs Orcs instead of just one part of one zone of entirely minimal consequence.
This is a great breakdown, thanks!
My fave zone 😍
Your vids and wow not fucking up with the last update got me to resub thanks for reminding me there’s so much wonder and beauty to Warcraft
Glad to hear that! Enjoy!
