Good evening, dear wanderers! Join me as your trusted Loremaster through the forests of Darkshore. As we delve into this vale of twilight together, I can't help but wonder: What are your thoughts and feelings about this hauntingly beautiful realm, steeped in Night Elf lore and mystique? Share your tales and insights below! Enjoy!
I greatly appreciate your videos! So calming and chalk full of lore I have forgotten over the years as I tend to zip through quests without reading after all this time. Just finished darkshore and heading to ashenvale on my hc warrior. Cheers buddy, again, many thanks for making these. 👍
Darkshire will definitely be addressed when I cover Duskwood, but a video specifically about that questline is not ruled out! Thanks for the suggestion!
The lore of Darkshore is amazing, keep up the good work. I can't wait for when you make one for Stranglethorn Vale!! that may be a two part video since it's huge 😊
I played Draenei as one of my earliest fractions (she even had the tabard of the hand in both colors) so this is insanely nostalgic and since we cant actually be brought back to those quests or eras, this video HURTS.
I also strongly dislike how they made the Classic version updated up to Cata.... so they're forcing us to rebuy the old expansions if we want to the OG experience again. Games we've already purchased. Like in disc format because that was the only way to get the games.
I miss Auberdine. It was once my favorite place in the entire world of Azeroth. And if it is true about what is to come, we the night elves, will never go back to Kalimdor. Thank you for the this reminder of our past.
Honestly, after kinda slogging through Teldrassil, Darkshore was such a fresh and unique take on a "Night Elf" zone. It felt haunting, The very name invoked a sense of foreboding and the numerous skeletons dotting the nearby beaches didn't help that tense feeling. Excellent video as always!
As a new explorer setting off from the safety of Teldrassil, you really started to wonder what secrets Azeroth would hold and how perilous the road ahead would yet become!
Wonderfully crafted video. I like how you're also going into history of some of these quests and locations. That really adds to the quality of these videos! More people should see these, you deserve the views.
Thank you very much! My goal is to ignite that sense of nostalgia in my audience, while also incorporating some of the most memorable, intriguing, or even frustrating quests, along with uncovering the hidden lore within these zones! Enjoy!
My first toon and long time main was a Nelf Druid. Started up a few months before the end of vanilla. Levelled with a good friend and his brother. Peeking into the mysteries of Darkshore will always be some of my absolute favorite memories of this game. That place is absolutely magical. It's such a beautiful zone and, as always, it's a pleasure to hear you talk about it. Keep up the great work, dude!
I really enjoyed reading your snippet of history! It's pure magic what experiences this game and world has brought us all over the years, each going on their own adventures and crossing paths with everyone else's! Thanks for being a part of mine today!
First character was Night Elf. When the Ferry left and the loading screen didn’t come and Auberdine appeared on the horizon my jaw hit the floor. That was what they meant when they said ‘open world’. Almost 20 years ago and I will never ever forget it.
I'm a little late on this one, but reading the comments it's clear to see you've done an incredible job of encapsulating the nostalgia of another beloved zone. You really have hit your stride in these videos. Timely pacing, enthralling storytelling, and accurate attention to detail. To top it off I was really pleased with the overall length of the video. The sweet spot between dragging on, and unfulfilled, the video gently drops you off at the perfect nostalgia-filled moment. Thank you for another wonderful video.
Your comment really explains why I love doing what I do. I try to create what I would like to see in a video. And making so many people remember what this world was all about and presenting it in a refreshing way is something I am very proud of and your support makes it all worthwhile 10 times over. Thanks again, have a good one and cheers!
I generally play two race/class combos in vanilla: human warlock & nelf druid. Even on my human, as soon as I hit lvl 11-12, I make the long trek either hopping over iron forge or swimming the long way to menethil. This zone just hits such a magical place, alongside going into Ashenvale after. The ambiance both physical and musical, the quest lines and rewards, and feeling of exploration always bring me here. Based on the great forests of the west coast of the United States with trees reminiscent/inspired by redwoods, Douglas fir, sitka spruce and more, what isn't to love about Darkshore? In fact the entire West Coast of Kalimdor is gorgeous, even desolace too. The design team of vanilla did so well in capturing the magic of the real life counterparts to Darkshore and the entirety of Kalimdor.
I can't tell you how many times I just stood at the end of the Auberdine dock on random alts and stared out into the ocean wondering 'what else is out there across the sea'.
At times it can be pretty obvious these are voiced and possibly partially written by an AI, but it's still an amazing NatGeo style video. These videos are some of my favorite ear-filler during work, thanks for making them.
I remember while being mounted to the flight path, flying above the troll village, I always wanted to drop and check out the vibes there (a.k.a. wreck some havoc).
There were numerous hidden gems scattered throughout the landscape, only revealed from specific flight paths. This element of discovery made the entire world feel alive!
Sadly been rather absent from my usual TH-cam binges of late, but another bloody good video. Well done, a favourite zone of mine with a lot of memories
I don’t care if anyone laughs at this.. But heaven to me, would be the night elf zone when I die. It’s beauty and tranquility astounded me. There can never be another place constructed like this.
Thank you for your kind words on the camerawork-capturing Darkshore's haunting beauty is no small feat. Sorry for the delayed response, the wilds of Azeroth are vast and full of distractions!
I remember arriving here back in Vanilla, at first I thought it looked way too different from the zone I had just felt, (Teldrassil) but I soon drew to appreciate it.
2007, I left behind a fantasy world full of endless grinding skills , otherwise known as Runescape, to finally try this game people had talked about for a few years, my first main was a nightelf rogue .. all these years later, nothing will ever compare in any game as experiencing Darkshore for the first time, i spent at least a good 3 weeks taking it all in...had no idea i was supposed to get to max level as soon as possible, i was too busy lost in another world.
I remember stepping into darkshore as a 20 something hoard and seeing those red letters of alliance territory and thinking it was the hardest toughest zone. I'm going to have to face when really it was just lowbie ally zone
Amazing work, never missed a beat. Your tireless and unrelenting passion and dedication to the lore comes out in every video, lore-master. Keep it up, you have a fan for life
Been really enjoying going through darkshore on my hardcore runs lately. My first character died to the den mother though. Truely a fearsome beast lol. Great video as always!
All of the night elf zones in classic are so odd. They somehow manage to capitalize on how empty mmos can feel by making all of the night elven zones center around treading through old ruins and foreboding landscapes
Oh man. I haven’t leveled a Nelf in a long time. I’ll have to level one sometime to quest there again. Thank you for the awesome videos and Keep up the good work!
On the one hand, this make me want to jump into Classic. On the other hand, I recall I had a lot of difficulty with both the tower and the excavation last time I tried, and I think I was unable to complete either of them while in the proper level range.
It's frustrating when level-appropriate content feels out of reach. Teaming up with others can definitely help bridge that gap and make those challenging parts more manageable-and often more fun too!

the master's glaive was always one of the most interesting and mysterious spots before the old gods were ever introduced.
The placement of the Glaive within Darkshore was something unique!
still to this day, allmost 20 years later as a former beta vanilla tester... this is my favorite zone of all WoW. too bad Cata ruined it :(
