I own that amp since 97 I believe. I also bought the tfm-75 for my subs. Plus the cb-15 pre amp. I had the same problem and these amps have been in a garage for over 20 years. If this makes them work again Im gonna be pretty darn happy. ty soo much for showing me the insides and hopeful repairs. If the work good again my neighbors are gonna hate this. lol
I also had a TFM-45 that appeared dead, the meter lamps would not even come on even though all of the power supply voltages were correct. One of the meter lamps was burned out which created a load mismatch between the +/-31VDC power supplies, which caused the amp to go onto protection mode. I replaced the bad meter lamp and the amp came alive again. If you need more information, let me know. Good luck, hope your neighbors will be enjoying your music, haha.
Hi Alfred, you're welcome and thank you for the feedback, I am glad I could help you out. There is one more issue you may encounter if you have a certain version of the TFM-45. One of my TFM-45s appeared totally dead, the meter lamps would not even power up. When I opened it up, all of the power supply voltages were present and correct, I even had the proper voltage at the meter lamps. I checked the meter lamps and one was bad so I temporarily put a resistor across it and the amplifier came alive. The meter lamps are powered by either the + or - 31VDC power supply. So with the lamps not working, there was a mismatched load between the +/-31VDC power supplies which made the amplifier go into into 'protection mode'. Thanks for watching.
It is hard to say. My amplifier was twenty-five years old when it acted up. It wouldn't hurt to open it up and take a look around to see how it is put together.
Hi Rudy. All I can say is this: According to my TFM-45 manual, stereo mode is rated for an 8 ohm load or a 4 ohm load, but the bridged mono rating only states an 8 ohm load. I run my TFM-45s in bridged mono, but my speakers are 8 ohm.

Can I bridge to Willie's TFM45 with a 4 ohm load speaker

@@StevesStrayStuff ok thanks
Well, I will see if this works for me. My TFM-42 (purchased in 1992) left channel only works when the input level is high. At low volumes no sound.
I hope it works out for you Tim 🤞
