I am a retired crusty old man and I make videos of stray subjects as I come across them, hoping the videos I make will help and/or entertain others in their own pursuit of a great end result or laughter. I know that my content is very inconsistent, but that is what I do, I'm old, haha. Give me a few minutes of your time, watch, enjoy, comment, like and subscribe. Thanks for stopping by! 🍸🍸
Be Safe And Good Luck My Fellow Floridians During Milton
Good luck to all the Floridians in the path of hurricane Milton. This is definitely a result of Global Warming. Global Warming is real. The Gulf Of Mexico temperatures are the hightest they have ever been and warm water is the fuel for hurricanes.

Let me guess you're a big Rush fan and took inspiration from their *_Clockworth Angels Tour_* to make this video. I just purchased Emeril's French door 360 I'm looking for a meatloaf recipe I came across this video so I gotta try it and I'll let you know how it came out !!! 👍👍
@bartnash9084 Please do!!! I love RUSH! Poor Neil Peart. My Emeril Airfryer door broke. It won't stay closed. I have to use a brick to hold it closed. I just saw his commercial for the French door oven. That one is the bomb! I am going to discard my current oven and purchase this one!
Bro quit youtube honestly your not funny
Stupid.
Now you know it has several warnings about moving while seated.
Haha, who reads the warnings? I saw the warnings after rolling around on it while seated. At least I didn't get hurt.
i got bacon 3 years ago can I cook it?
Haha, you can cook it, but I'm not too sure about eating it!
Did you have to use a funnel to get the stuff into the mix bottle? The jugs have a pretty wide mouth. And if you used a funnel, how do you clean it for repeated use or do you just toss it? Good advice on buying extra mix bottles cuz when I read 3 uses on the mix bottle, I thought that didn't sound right for a gallon size... maybe it hardens & clogs the mix bottle too much so 3 uses is it.
Yes, I did use two different funnels to fill the squeeze bottles. One funnel for Part A and another for Part B. This stuff works great!
@@StevesStrayStuff good suggestion on 2 different funnels too. I've got extra bottles & funnels on order now. On a side note, do you think mineral spirits could be used to cleanv off the epoxy from the bottle/funnel while it's still wet (or am I asking for a miracle?)
There are so many decent speakers out there you could bring a laptop and adapter to test out, everybody should have some if they love music; If you do find those great speakers, you are wasting their life NOT playing lossless audio! The reason i disliked Jazz and classical for so long was BECAUSE I wasn't listening lossless before! There is so much value we miss in genres we never cared about before because of that flat sound we get used to.
You are so right! Enjoy your music listening journey.

Haha, I see what you did there, very creative!
That's my neighbor. Jk. But I have seen it.
This neighborhood definitely doesn't have a Homeowners' Association 😆
That's stripped for sure. People care for thier cars if it's a project. It would be on proper stands and not sitting the rear on the ground. They also would've made sure it's not blocking the driveway partially. Also they would make sure weather or animals can't get into it. That's stolen
You're right! I have seen cars in the junkyard with more parts on it than this one.

I am a Toyota guy that being said i never go to the dealer unless it is for a recall or warranty work. I had similar issue and had to replace my battery hold down as well. Next battery will be an AGM. Great video!
Thanks, James. Unfortunately, I am going to continue to use the Mazda dealership for servicing. I don't want to jeopardize my lifetime powertrain warranty. I don't need any jibber-jabber from Mazda about unauthorized servicing. From now on, I will make sure I am the Quality Assurance eyes on all of Mazda's servicing.
Thanks for a great instructional video.
You are very welcome! This stuff works great. You will not be disappointed.
Someone should have been checking the battery at least twice a year. They would spot the corrosion and what you call install issue. Mazda only has a little part of your issue. I love my Mazda too!
I have paid Mazda to maintain and inspect my vehicle a minimum of twice per year and sometimes three times per year. My 5,000 mile servicing has been due about every four to five months. This battery issue is a 100% failure by Mazda, whether it happened during the battery installation or post installation maintenance/inspections. This mishap had nothing to do with me. However, I have learned that I need to be the Quality Assurance Inspector of future maintenance performed by Mazda, which I should not have to do.
I love any manufacturer who is forward thinking enough to make this an easy task.
Haha, I agree! But, Sub Zero might want to re-think their drain line. We had water dripping out the bottom of the refrigerator door when you opened it. The drain line was clogged. I took the bottom front panel off (came off easy) and removed the drain pan (came out easy) to gain access to the drain line which is at the very back of the refrigerator. The components are so low to the floor, that I could barely get my arm under them so I could run a pipe cleaner up the drain line and clear it. If I didn't have scrawny arms, I never would have reached it. I should have done a video on that one.
If that is the only damage that leaking sulfuric acid did you got lucky! That is 35% sulfuric acid and it would have done more damage if you don't get it off. Get some baking soda and make a solution of it with water and once the baking soda dissolves put it in a spray bottle and spray it anywhere the acid might be aside from the battery. That will neutralize it so it doesn't do more damage. You may hear it fizzing as it reacts with the acid.
Thank you for the information. I will pop the hood this weekend and perform another inspection. I don't need any more eaten parts under the hood, the battery bracket was really eaten up.
@@StevesStrayStuff That acid is horrible stuff. If you try to transport that battery to a recycler put it in a bucket that will hold up well enough because that acid will destroy your carpet in your car!
@charleshines5700 Thanks, I did put it in a cardboard box lined with a trash bag and took it to the auto parts store to dispose of it.
You need a new service center. I have a local guy who is way better than any dealer I've ever used.
My car has been to two different Mazda dealers for service. The one I rarely go to did the battery. Unfortunately, the reliable independent shop near me closed a few years ago. The owner retired and nobody took it over.
@@StevesStrayStuff after watching again, I question how some of these people even get dressed in the morning when they can't even provide the simplest of service. Don't let em touch the tires, the lug nuts may be missing!
This has been a very informative video for people who have not yet started using a metal frame and a pad. I started using this back in 2010, on the recommendation from the people who installed the HVAC back then. They suggested going to a place in nearby Daytona Beach, Florida, who custom makes the frames and cuts the pads to size. For over 14 years, I have been using the orange and white MERV 8 pads that they always had in stock and they custom cut to size. I recently needed more pads, but they said they no longer carry the orange and white pads, but now use the blue and white pads, so I bought them. The blue and white pads are a little thinner than the orange and white ones. By looking online, it seems like the blue and white pads are rated either at MERV 6 or MERV 7. I was wondering if you have ever used the blue and white pads, and if so, do you think that they are okay to use, or do you think that the next time that I need more pads, try to find a place that sells the orange and white ones? Unfortunately, the place that I have been buying these pads from in the past 14 years, is the only place in the area that seems to sell this product. If I want to go back to using the orange and white material, I would probably have to have it shipped here.
Like you, I was introduced to the metal frame with the orange white media back in 2010. I had a new air conditioner installed and it came with the metal frame and six extra orange/white pads. I have always used the orange/white pads because they are MERV8 (the blue pads are MERV 7). Shop around for the bulk rolls. I have changed who I purchase from because the shipping charges changed. The first place I purchased from went from free shipping to $100 for shipping. I have changed where I purchase my bulk rolls three times. I still have one-half of the last 90 foot roll I purchased, so I have not needed to order more yet. Odds are I will have to shop around again for a good deal. I hope you can find a place that has the size you need with minimal shipping costs. Shipping has become expensive. Please let me know how you make out, because I will need to order more in the future too. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for your response. I only have one return vent, and it is 23 1/4 by 23 1/4 inches. Since I just installed the first blue and white pad today, and I bought a dozen of them, I probably won't need any more pads for a couple of years. I just hope the local shop that makes these frames and sells the pads stays in business, as I haven't been able to find any other shop like this anywhere around here. It's good to know that these blue and white pads are rated at MERV 7. Thanks again.
Very helpful, thank you!

Nice video, Steve. The frustrating thing with these silicone trays is that I can find no definitive answer on the net that explains why silicon trays form the nasty scum on ice cubes. Everyone keeps talking about perhaps "filtering the water" as a potential solution...which completely ignores the fact that, using the EXACT SAME WATER SOURCE, plastic trays don't produce the residue while silicon types do. So here is the main question that perhaps someone smarter than I can kindly answer... Are there chemicals added to silicon trays during manufacturing that directly cause a reaction with the minerals in water to go from liquid to solid during the freezing process? If so, what are those chemicals?
Thank you. Here is something that just happened last week. We purchased some round silicone ice trays for making round ice balls. When we made the round ones, there was absolutely no residue. I think you are correct about what substances are used to make the silicone ice trays. All silicone ice trays must not be created equal.
@@StevesStrayStuff Appreciate the reply, Steve. It seems everything is made in China these days, and I would not put it past the Chinese government to allow its manufacturers to use subgrade/dangerous chemicals in its production processes. Perhaps we'll eventually come to the truth. I'm sure everyone remembers that breast implants used to contain liquid silicone, and when they leaked, women experienced significant health issues. Hence, my apprehension with scum that shows up in drinks chilled with silicon tray ice...plus it's just plain nasty looking. The medical community has since migrated to saline as an implant filler, and the illness issue went away. Hmmmmm...
Premium design. Damn, this hobby has gotten expensive. Maybe Santa will get me one of these.
I love my tonearm lifter, but you are correct, this music hobby gets expensive. A few years ago I had to upgrade my entire audio/video system because of the changes in technology. I had so many HDMI to component/RCA converters hanging off the back of my audio gear, because my thirty year old A/V system did not support HDMI, wireless and Bluetooth. I hope you are not on the 'naughty list' and Santa does you right this year!
Don’t use this inside, better for outdoor use. I made mistake and ran it for a full day inside and everything was damp. It throws out a lot of humidity.

you might have to drain your entire pool due to Baylisascaris eggs!!!
Thank you very much for the education, I did a lot research after reading your comment. The pool filter runs ten hours per day and Jerry the pool guy got all the poop out of the pool with his vacuum contraption and he changed the filter. I laughed out loud when I read that you need to instruct people not to drink the pool water. I was at a hotel and one of the pool rules was 'Do not drink the pool water'. I thought that was a hilarious rule, but now I know why you don't want to drink the pool water. Thank you very much for your comment and insight!

Amazing Beatles haul! I love them! The thrift stores always have nice stuff.
It is amazing what you can find that people don't want or they know what they are donating.
Love your video but sizing is my problem... I need a 30x32x2 RESIDENTIAL filter and, ideally, a MERV 11 filter media. I looked at your frame source but they don't go that large on their standard sizes and custom sizes come only in a quantity of 12 starting at a price of $199. I can probably build a frame myself but then still need to find a MERV 11 roll media. Any suggestions?
I wish I had an answer for you. Residential ceiling trusses are normally 24 inch on center and walls are 16 inch on center. You have a very unique issue. Making your own frame is a great solution and shouldn't be too difficult. A piece of screen cut to size to fit the hole so it can retain the filter media should work fine. Let me know how you make out.
You should not be using tap water to brew your coffee. Not to mention drinking from tap water. I always brew my coffee with filtered water.
Thanks rebeckah. I use cold water, and it is filtered by my refrigerator. My tap water is not on a well. My tap water is city water, which does meet the criteria set by the government for being safe for consumption, but I do use filtered water 99% of the time for my coffee. I am 63, and hopefully, the 1% tap water doesn't have adverse effects on my health 🤣🤣
Did you get rid of the telescopic for a pivot? If yes, is a pivot better/easier? Love your ingenuity & ideas!❤
I still have both poles. I started with the pivoting pole and then put up the second pole as a telescoping pole. Here is why I went telescopic on the second pole. When I only had the pivoting pole, I had a incident. A hurricane was coming. I repeatedly looked up in the bat house and did not see any bats. Since the bat house was empty, I used the pivot feature to lower the bat house to the ground, removed it from the base pole and put it in my garage so it would not get damaged in the hurricane. My house was all shuttered up and the garage door was locked down for the hurricane. Later that evening, I went out into my garage and bats where flying around my garage. That is when I decided to go telescopic so I could raise and lower the bat house for a hurricane instead of removing it an putting it in the garage.

Thank you. I did put a lot of thought into it, and I was very happy that it actually worked. I am able to lower it for hurricanes without disturbing the bats.

If you are holding the bolt steady and looking at the nut, you turn the nut counterclockwise. If it is an Allen head bolt, make sure you have the correct Allen wrench. It might be standard or metric, and you can round out the head if you use the wrong size Allen wrench.

I totally disagree with you. I am in no way affiliated with Spray And Forget, but this stuff works great. I live in an HOA and they constantly bust balls about a dirty roof. I use it every two or three years and it keeps my roof clean. I no longer get citations for a dirty roof. Now, if you have neglected your roof and it has turned black with mold, this stuff isn't going to work like you want it to, because your roof is too far gone, Spray And Forget is not a miracle worker.
