She was always the greatest living soprano, at least for me. She directly caused my love for the opera. In my opinion, she is the best and most beautiful lyric soprano I have ever heard.
Absolutely! Here in 2021 the great Leontyne Price is 94 years young! May God continue to bless this extraordinary lady and artist with a joyful, peaceful, and healthy life.
I have loved her my entire life. As a little girl I would watch her on tv with her beautiful head wraps and wonderful designer gowns. Her voice would bring me to tears.
What an extraordinary lady. Pure elegance, highly intelligent, interesting, funny and quite beautiful. I love her speaking voice. I was surprised she's still living at the age of 96. Her interviews are amazing. Showcases her high intelligence and magnetic personality
What a rare find! Thank you so much for uploading this! 1. Hearing/seeing her warm-up at the piano brought joy to my heart 2. Hearing/seeing her conduct a master class sent me to Heaven
A thousand thanks to whomever put this together. Except for the final Aida and the White House concert this is all new footage to me. It was wonderful to see the photos of her parents in their youth. Seeing her with her equally amazing brother, retired Brigadier General George Price was the highlight for me. His clarity, strength and dignity fully matched his illustrious sister. What a family that must have been. THANK YOU.
Oh Leontyne .. you were my guiding light and inspiration through my intro into opera ..I lived on your tapes traveling in my car ... vocalizing to a show or an audition I remember I always wanted to sound like you as much as my voice could as a coloratura could. The breath that just flowed out of you for support with the consonants just making a quick entrance to make a word..the closest to perfection I could hear. ❤ Thank you ..
Yes, it is! Brenda lived here in Houston and sang quite often with the Houston Ebony Opera guild. She is still singing and teaching voice at a university in Louisiana.
You are so right. Even at the 50 th Anniversary Gala celebrating the opening the Met at Lincoln Center, Mr Díaz was ignored despite the fact that he attended the concert. I saw him during the intermission and he was very nice when I approached him. I suppose his political star at the Met dimmed a while ago. However that omission was very unfair in my view.
She makes me so proud to be a black woman. I have long been fascinated with black opera singers. So regal, so gifted, so splendid. Brava, Ms. Price.
We have come to the year of 2021, and Leontyne Price is now more than ever the world’s greatest living soprano.
& cousin to the Voice, Whitney Houston not to mention her another talented cousins.

Who is the amazing singer in the yellow dress? She sounded like a young Price.
She's Whitney Houston's and Dionne Warwick's cousin
Who are the singers in the masterclass and what happened to them?
I suppose anyone's guess 34 years later. Perhaps one or two of them will see this and chirp up.
Excellence
Imma buy a hat just like hers.
